I'm just impatiently waiting for Kepa to post that it's been submitted today. You can always work on a quick patch while it's being approved to fix any bugs you didn't have time to get to....
I agree. As much bug testing as a dev does does not compare to the public getting their hands on it and reporting back. Submit the game and begin working on an early update and try to cram as many fixes in as possible. Apple allows you to expedite big fixes for critical issues. Done and done.
The app store is all about first impressions. A well-polished game might be able to climb the ranks immediately, getting good reviews from players and game critics alike. If the game were to be released in a buggy state, it would hamper the initial enthusiasm, leading to some mixed reviews and killing most of the game's momentum. By the time all the bugs were squashed, critics would have already passed judgment, and players would be more skeptical of it from here on out. Even if there was no skepticism, many would hold off on purchase until bug fixes were submitted and approved. This would mean that the players would buy the game in two smaller spurts, instead of one big push. A big push massively increases visibility on the appstore charts and encourages more people to buy that hadn't even heard of the game, resulting in a momentum-driven snowball effect of sales. Dividing sales into two peaks greatly diminishes the chances of the app gaining enough visibility on the app store charts to warrant this cascade of sales. TLDR; Kepa, we're anxious for the game, but take as long as you need to polish it up. Buggy products don't do well on the app store.
Instant one star review if there's no Rocketcat Party Room, Sammichbot cameo, or hookpunching mechanic. And the graphics better look real like those new Hobbit movies. Your move, Kewpa.
Not yet. I was hoping for an April 10th release, seems unlikely now. 17th is pretty likely, but will see. Would suck to miss mid-April.
Just realized I'm going to be in Korea when this releases. I won't be able to make gameplay vids right away
The April Fools joke would have been a report that Wayward Souls was canceled, and any game assets that aren’t being scrapped will be recycled into a new Flappy Bird style game. With punitive timer- and powerup-based IAP, and intrusive ads that pop up in the middle of gameplay with no way to disable them.
I think it would be fantastic if you could post some consolidated info about the classes in wayward souls. Things such as skills, upgrades, weapons, etc. Im sure im not the only one who loves pouring through info about classes in a game im dieing to play. Anywhere would do really here, facebook, the wayward souls site. Really excited for the game, just throwing this out there as a way to hold me (and possibly others) over for the hopefully short wait left.
April 17th you say? Well I'll be darned! I can't wait and the time isn't helping either with its slow paced movement. Awesome work, but I won't be on the edge of my seat this time.
