This is highly subjective, especially for single player games. For me, it's all about the stats and progression. Cosmetics mean nothing to me.
and for a lot of people, cosmetics mean almost everything, it's the collection aspect of it. to each their own
Not entirely. Coins you earn will roll over and can be spent on permanent upgrades for any of your characters
Should be possible to use a iDevice file system exploring program on PC to go into your save data and find it... I don't know where it is though. I think Mage Gauntlet let you access its save file from iTunes File Sharing under Apps in your device in iTunes (iTunes on your PC). (Normally that's used for documents apps and whatever.) Does this list it there? I didn't check. If not, why not add that? They said maybe they'd add Dropbox support or something, but it also makes sense to add iTunes File Sharing support since not everyone uses Dropbox and might not want to make another account somewhere for one thing (like me). Most people would also already have a PC with iTunes.
And you can start from the beginning of each dungeon, you don't have to do the whole game at once. (By the way, the game can temporarily save where you are in a dungeon so you can continue playing later. Do this by closing the app, not by choosing to quit to the character select screen.)
Another money sink idea: Passive "Cheat" Upgrade Store You can purchase abilities (that can be toggled on and off) like faster money magnet, stronger (more range) money magnet, perma-haste when you clear a floor, and treasure compass when you clear a floor. None of these would influence combat gameplay, and they would not upset balance in any way. I know the monster shopkeeper's the future money sink, but it's an idea. EDIT: Just had a great idea... you could buy a pet sewer rat that follows you around and shrieks constantly but is otherwise completely nonfunctional. Also an option to replace the statues that bestow you with 'vigorous haste, etc...' with Gnomey statues. I'm really looking forward to the 4th dungeon. Currently I'm just playing to get hats and for the fun of the gameplay, but I'm getting money at a rate that I don't like- by the time the 1st update comes, I'll have no upgrades left and my characters won't see any natural progression (and I'll be getting way overstocked on money). You can always use more money sinks, Kepa. Always!
Free haste if you clear a floor (just for that floor) is a pretty good idea I've seen a couple of times. Have to make sure that it doesn't conflict with the Saint Statues, though. And it might, especially after we buff the statues so they don't run out between floors.
I'm pretty sure that "couple of times" was also me And yeah, I can totally envision a glitch occurring where you have that clear-haste and then use a statue, carrying it over to the next floor (or some similar order of operations). That would be both hilarious and hilariously unbalanced. Edit: Kepa, maybe you should adjust your sig...?
I did it!!! And I thought it was impossible. My previous record was floor 4, and then as Mage I made it all the way. Luckily, I had a magic repelling hourglass so the boss was easy.
if copyright weren't an issue, it would be my dream to have one of those "bothersome crow people" from monument valley follow you around while constantly squawking at you
Alternatively: Have an ultra-rare Well of Wishes in the crypt levels, so that the fish from Super QuickHook finally makes sense. The well contains nothing but a fish pet who follows you around and spouts more cryptic nonsense. "Saint Gnomey grants you glorious friendship!"
"Swim swim hungry, swim swim hungry!" Perfection. Also, @Zeillusion, Kepa has already confirmed pets being added somewhere down the line. They'll be found in dungeons and work like emberforge upgrades in that they reset when you die.
I don't know. Out of all RC's games this one definitely feels the most serious. Maybe it's because kepa didn't write it but even with random jokes thrown in with a few cutscenes the dark atmosphere of this is startlingly in contrast to anything else in their catalogue
