Yes, I got bored quickly in that game too, actually. And I do like a good roguelike. And what I like about them is exploring, trying to get a bit farther, and dying a different way each time. I die the same way every time in this game. I've been able to reach the boss with no problem since my second play, I just can't beat him, even if I get to him with full health. Oh well. I'll try not to whine about it anymore.
If you look back a few pages, there is a way to "beat" Humphrey without fighting him. He's difficult until you beat him once, though. Like a boss in a MegaMan game. As soon as you figure him out he gets really easy. Good luck with it. Hopefully you've beaten him by the time you come back to the thread.
I picked the game David as an example of a super difficult game that I aced because it's an ios game that came out very recently that I learned about here on toucharcade. So it certainly should not be "a game no one heard about here".
@Glork: Basically this ^^ The number one tip I have for that boss fight is to just be patient. Just wait until he's poised to slam his hammer, quickly get out of the way, then hack him a couple times from the side (I'm assuming you're Warrior?). Just rinse and repeat that for his ground attacks. If he gets poised to do his jump attack just run around and try not to get smashed. Also make liberal use of shields/axes and whatever powerups you have (again assuming Warrior). It'll feel like it takes FOREVER to beat him that first time, but subsequent times it'll feel like a breeze. tl;dr Just be patient and careful. Fight the urge to get that "one more hit" in each time, and just slowly and methodically put him down.
Update 1 will fix some of these bugs. Including the bug where there's no boss, just an exit. Hopefully. It's kind of complex. At least it's pretty rare. DIFFICULTY: We didn't want people to get stuck in the first dungeon. Not forever, anyway. I have ideas of how to get around this for a future game. You're just kind of stuck in this one, though. Lots of advice on the forum and on blue rocket's page, that should help.
It took me forever to beat the first boss at first to buddy. 11 tries , & now.. I've beaten him, 40 or 50 times without dying. You learn, and than you become unbeatable. The game is amazing, it's not a simple hack n' slash. Once again, it takes brain power. Learn the moves, save some times. Save those hour glasses, when the boss jumps and uses his hammer, the hour glass makes the projectiles disappear. Than go ham on him. Also save your dust, you'll move mad fast and dodge everything
Holy crap finally. It seemed like 300 times I died on the fricken boss. Btw spellsword is awesome beat dungeon on first try
the only problem is: my laptop broke... i searched all the google to find one screen recorder app that has the install like those emulators -i found one but it works only with ios 6.x -i dont want the sound, just to catch some videos. my wife will turn into a rogue and will do some backstab on me if she sees me acting crazy with a camrecording haha maybe i'll find one to work with latest ios thanks. i will really like a dungeon with some snow theme, or at least a floor with snow -is it possible to add in future updates?
