I actually like the warrior sword upgrades, though I would like the "same sword just stronger" upgrade that was talked about before to be added. My major issue is that some of the upgrades (stained glass for sure, and at least one other) won't destroy the knights' shields when you use the charged attack. I heard someone else complain about this before in this thread. It makes me not want to ever choose those upgrades because it makes the knights way too difficult to beat. So IMO I think all charged attacks no matter what upgrade you have should destroy the knight shields.
For the warrior folks who have gone past dungeon two. What's your tricks. I move around and can avoid getting hit, but often I'll get trapped and killed like a felon in the shower. If I stand with the shield and a group jumps me, someone sneaks a shot in whole I swipe. I make it to level 5 in d2 no problem. 6 and 7 decimate me
A lot of running circles and using those abilities, especially the shield. Never fight an enemy in a closed room of you don't have to.
Yeah I'm the one that mentioned that. Basically the stained glass one seems not so bad but once you remove the shield breaker ability it's almost worthless. You spend so much time running and dodging knights that you almost would rather kill yourself I believe the other worst sword is the ratblade (was that the one with short reach?). The reach of the sword is the best ability of the weapon and once you lose it, you'll get hit way more. The critical bonus barely even happens because criticals are rare. So basically, you'll get hit more but output less damage.
Might change the axe to basically be "the starter sword just stronger". So less bonus damage, but less (no?) speed penalty. That'd make the Bane of Bones the only slow one. Also been thinking of some general Warrior adjustments. Maybe making the shield durability 6 instead, up to 12 for the special shields. In exchange his weapon upgrades could probably be increased a bit. Duskhander taking less energy, Stained Glass taking less energy, so on. This'd be Update 2 at the earliest, if we do this. Stained Glass/Bane of Bones not breaking shields is a bug.
Strange thing happened today... When I reached the end of a slime maze in the second dungeon I got killed by a bull slime. But right as I got killed I opened the skull chest. When that happened I got the hat inside and was then magically revived but with zero health. I fought my way out but then got killed. Pretty amazing second wind I had there...
I agree, I like the upgrades. Kepa you should add a standard sword but better instead of changing the axe. I enjoy the axes dps, it also makes sense for it to be slower. It is a giant heavy axe after all! Would it be hard to just add a standard sword but better? Maybe higher dps or better charge attack.
Yeah it would. That would give the warrior one more weapon upgrade than everyone else, and also just adding it would make it kind of rare to actually find.
I wouldn't mind making the axe rare ( because it's pretty powerful ) and the standard sword but better take the axes place. Maybe you could change the short sword? A lot of people seems to not use that one. Just ideas, either way I'm happy.
Short sword is too unique to cut. I think maybe just the partial shield nerf + reducing the energy cost of the upgrades some might be good enough instead. Like the Duskhander IS the standard sword, but with a better power attack. I think the power attack just takes too much energy?
