Hey, may i ask where you commonly get hats? You seem to play this game so much.

    i've played only 10-12hours
70% of the hats got them from the 2nd dungeon
    20% from 3rd dungeon
    10% from the first dungeon

On the off-chance that was me, I did not say it is impossible to ever do it. I said quite often you come across rooms full of slimes where they are very far inside, around a corner, there's nothing you can shoot at, they cannot see you and they will never move in range of the door. That means it is impossible to make them come out of the room. I go in, I fight them, nine times out of ten I use up all my remaining charges finishing them off and most of my health and more often than not I die anyway.

EDIT: Oddly enough I've picked up a fair few hats; shame I don't care about them. Sorry, while I quite like the visuals overall a tiny ten-by-ten pixel graphic (or whatever it is) doesn't really alleviate the frustration that much. I never bother re-equipping anything once I start a new run.

allready posted the trick that works for me
after beatin the game ( i've finished all the dungeons just a couple of hours after i purchase ws -maybe this helped 'cos i played just4fun after that), so everytime i reach the 2nd dungeon boss i let myself killed and retry the game -this way i get more random floors with more maze maps -if you beat the boss you have to continue ,select the character and chose what dungeon to play -when i continue the floors are v similar ... the retry trick works, for me

Can I get some general tips here.

I'm on 2nd dungeon and after a few hours I finally made it to the boss on limited health only to get my a$$ handed to me!

I use the warrior, dodging and striking. Never use the shield and use axes occasionally.

    My questions:

Are potions super rare? I've seen 2 or three in about 60+ dungeon attempts.

Any benefits to the hats outside of visual appearance?

Any general tips for using warrior? Should I be using the shield more?
    What are "skull chests"?

I think it took 2 or 3 hours to get past the fifth floor on 2nd dungeon so any help on getting better would be appreciated :)

potions are vr drop -but you dont really need them -you get alot of health between floors
skull chests have vr hats in them -hats are just for cool look
coin chests also drop hats but very rare drop
warrior is the strongest character -the shield is one of the best defence from the game. you gotta attack and swipe out your shield -always like this -the shield on even when you try to dodge attacks -if you miss the shield takes the hit
practice some more 'till you master him

Just wondering how upgraded were your characters when you beat 3rd dungeon? I'm getting maimed within the first few levels as mage and warrior.

Also I've seen folks post enemies by name. Is there a beastiary of sorts somewhere? Would be nice to see a list of baddies in one spot; only time I seen the enemies name is when I get killed by them.

    - They are pretty rare in the current version but updates may change things such as adding a shop that sells them. Learn the attacks of all the enemies so you won't need them.

Any benefits to the hats outside of visual appearance?
    - Purely aesthetic, perhaps for now. Keep bugging Kepa and maybe they will. :D

Any general tips for using warrior? Should I be using the shield more?
Something very important to note is that the shield is actually a TOGGLE and will slow down your run speed based on your forge selection. When you attack, your shield goes away but does not consume a charge. The shield can absorb a certain amount of damage depending on what you select at the forge. Taking at least 1 hit with your shield up will consume a charge. The warrior upgrade Shieldbearer gives you up to a 30% chance of not consuming a charge so I strongly recommend maxing it first.

Axes are great for pulling enemies before entering a new room so there's less to deal with when you enter it. Also handy for extra DPS like when your swings knock back foes a bit too far to land another hit.

Regarding forge upgrades, I suggest sticking to the default sword. Bane of Bones makes your attacks slower but doesn't make them stronger and you won't exactly be spamming charge attacks anyway. Don't get Ratblade either as it shortens your reach yet the critical chance bonus is hardly worth the trade off.

Aside from a ton of gold, they guarantee a hat. They're usually found after a special event or in a maze. Explore every floor and hug walls because you'll never know if you'll find a secret room! Check your map to see if you passed by any peculiar areas.

I've been so busy that I've only beaten the first stage once and have probably played less than 2 hours total. I've got three hats already. Random chance is random.

Rogue ability "fake out" not working?

Am I the only person who doesn't notice enemies getting confused when you dash through them? I have the ability "fake out" almost maxed for the Rogue but doesn't work.

The hats are only cosmetic? That's a bit of a downer...

I haven't noticed any visible confusion effect or behaviour. But then, I'm not quite sure what form the confusion should take.

I think I've seen it with knights. The first time I dash through a knight he'll pause for less than a second and then swing at where I dashed from. After that, if I dash through him, he won't pause, but he will follow my path and swing at where I dashed to.

I'm surprised no one is taking about this or concerned. I'm pretty sure it's a broken skill in a game where you only have a few class specific skills. Kinda a big deal.
