Update Stuff 20 floors big fourth area is in the first update. We should be submitting that not too long after the game is out. Second update is endless mode and most likely MFI controller support, with some other stuff. This update's pretty likely no matter what. Third update is "if it does well" territory. This would be Paladin, who gets its own special area to match how overpowered it is. Lot of work involved in this. We're also doing a PC version with extra content, and a lot of that extra content should make its way to the iOS version in updates. Difficulty Stuff We didn't want to do much "false sense of progression" stuff. You're stuck in the first area until you're good enough to get past it, and so on. The game's different each time, at least, so you may luck out (or the opposite). I also think things will get a lot easier once people make and share their own personal strategies for each character. There's a lot of nuance in the abilities that people haven't even picked up on yet. I'll give a few quick tips to get the ball rolling, that may completely change things around for people: Warrior can get his shield out at any time. You can cancel an attack by getting a shield out or throwing an axe. This has a lot of applications. Mage defensive abilities and some of her offensive abilities interrupt enemy attacks. Even boss attacks. Rogue attacks very fast. You can stunlock most enemies by stabbing them repeatedly when they're pinned against a wall.
Thank you for clarifying!! Those sound super cool, really hoping the paladin class and levels come through!
Wasn't Mage gauntlet successful and made lots of money too? This should do the same since it's been hyped so much and it's worth it too
IMO if the paladin gets to be added to the game it wouldn't like to be OP instead it should be balance just as well as the others and leave that final difficult area to every characters
So the Paladin from the intro level was the most powerful character? I guess he does have some pretty nice secondary skills but I didn't see him as overwhelmingly powerful.
Paladin's overwhelmingly powerful. We'd probably it him a little bit but still the strongest I think. You'd also unlock Paladin by beating all other characters. Also giving it a unique area is easier than balancing it for everyone else, who will already have two extra difficult areas added for them (first update 20 floor area and Endless Mode). Paladin is intended to completely finish the game's story, a final epilogue for the game.
Ah I see. I like that. I really liked the Paladin's design and his intro level is still my favorite part of the game. After reading what you said I'm going to go play the intro over again. That part nearly gave me goosebumps. I hope he gets his sweet revenge
Out in the UK. Just played half an hour and the game is awesome. I seriously love the music in this game. So atmospheric.
Action-RPG with roguelike (and roguish) elements, such as permadeath and randomly generated dungeons, from what I gather.
well since it would be like that, could be possible for the paladin to replay as well in the "old" areas but filled with the more powerfull monsters? so it could also have almost the same ammout of gameplay like the other characters
Weren't we supposed to get some hats as early buyers? I have none, using an iPhone 5S and iPad 2. Also want to add that it seems to me that the up and down swipes seem to need to be too quick and long on the iPad 2 compared to the iPhone. I can't explain but I'm having difficulty doing them on my iPad unless i do it really quick, much more than on the phone. .
For the record, Rocketcat's games almost never go on sale (one game went on sale once about three years ago) and they usually go up in price after release.
Just under three hours left until it hits, I'm excited. Definitely will buy it ASAP, just like everything else rocketcat has done.
