Finally beat the first boss for the first time!!! God, that felt good. New dungeon, new class, new challenges! I don't know if I'll ever beat this game, but I sure am glad I bought it.
Just opened 35 coin chests with no luck of a hat, you win some you loose some. Do they drop from wooden chests? Don't ever seem to get anything but items from them.
i tried to write some of the hats i found so far. i maybe wrong on some 'cos i found so many that can't remember all of them. hope that helps to increase the hat faq. coin chest hats: -Rogue's Hardcap -Miner's Hardcap -Prospector Gear -Foreman's Hardhat -Wurm Carapace -Dire Tusks -Guard's Barbute -Guard's Helm -Captain's Heaume -Captain's Greathelm -Mad Mage's Hood -Mad Mage's Cowl -Thief Cover -Thief Durag -Dogcap -Grotesque Visage -Gargoyle Guise -Anger Mask -Temerator Mask -Zombie Face -Plated Crypt Helm -Cultist Scarf -Primal Mask -Triclops -Hassan Hair -Baron Wig -Mariel Hair -Susie's Eyepiece -Apprentice Hood -Whitebeard Hat -Mindshield -Snake Princess Cowl -Silver Plated Crown -Gold Plated Crown -Wreath of the Conjurer -Pupil's Cap -Oracle Hood -Dusklord Heaume -Varoisian Noble Hat -Mystic Hood -Fenner Cap -Silken Sect Hood -Spy Shroud -Zelle's Wide Brim skull chest hats: -Bull Mask -Ratblade Jim Hair -Explorer Cap -Boarzin's Eye -Golem King Helm -Blorpx Eye -Sandwich Hat -Jakob's Adventure Hat -Phoenix Helm -RocketCat Hat
I just took down the second boss with the Mage. That third dungeon is disgusting. I tried a few times to just get a sense of the enemies and now I can say I miss those slime floors.
Just beat first boss with rogue, so now I've beaten him with warrior, rogue, Mage & adventurer. Also got my self an 11th hat, 40 silver chests later haha! It's a Jason mask. Also; got up to the second boss on my warrior & Mage. Totally got pwnt, it was epic.
If you can PM me a list of the hats and if they are from skull chests or not that I do not have listed that would make my life a lot easier!
The ghost stories are more of an overarching plot beyond the individual character stories. They tell you more about the world and the locations the game takes place in. Lexi is the protagonist from Mage gauntlet. Her story is happening parallel to the story of your heroes, I found her once in the mines with the spellsword, which is funny since they're Lexi is basically a more powerful version of the spellsword.
Yeah, getting too used to Warrior really screws you up, hah. I tried Mage out after beating three dungeons with Warrior, and I have to say, it's REALLY hard to get out of the mindset that you can win with anything in your face. Too bad there's no Crystal Soul Spear. meheh.
^^^ This!!! I'm totally a non-gifted and casual player. I don't expect, on casual play, to beat a serious game. But this game doesn't need an easy mode! I so enjoy spending 5 min trying a run and picking up later where I left off is a breeze - just check the map and head to the next opening. I can get to Humphrey on over half my runs but have yet to beat him. That's fine with me One question - when I do beat him and unlock the second dungeon, will I be able to select the second dungeon as my starting point? If so, then poifect!
Question for the developers (I know this is a very fast moving thread so might not get an answer) Would it be possible to have some small passive bonus attributed to the hats? It would make it exciting for people like me who don't really care about collecting stuff if it doesn't actually do anything (i.e. cosmetic) and would double to make them even more cool for others as well. Nothing crazy, but like +10 HP on a hat, or slight movement speed increase on another. Small little bonuses. This sort of thing would add a TON of replay value IMO because I'd really want to get them all at that point.
i can't load the site to see your hat list from the faq. weak 3G data connection... the adventure is similar to warrior -adventure's lantern rejects magic and also do a little damage, one lantern can kill the little slimes. his forges upgrades are v useful too -more health when passing next floor -you should try it. also have alot of patience -try alert the enemies so you can kill them one by one
I finished the second dungeon with the mage. I was lucky enough to have very little slime throughout the dungeon. I was very surprised by the apparent lack of boss : no special dialog, i did not even notice it. I wonder whether it was a bug.
There's supposed to be a boss. I, and someone else, also encountered this glitch. I think they said it happened in the second area as well. It happened to me in the second area twice.
This game makes me want to tear my hair out....yet I can't put it down. Kicks me in the junk and then start a new game without thinking.
It is frequently impossible to do that with slime rooms. As in, statement-of-fact impossible, they all start too far in to notice you when you're standing in the doorway, your power bolt won't reach them and they do not roam close enough for you to catch their attention. Still haven't reached the boss on the second area - trying as the mage - and slimes are a big reason why. I'm still sticking to my first impressions - it's a really good game, I don't regret buying it for a second and I can totally see why people love it, but it's not as polished or as well designed as something like Dark Souls and while it's often an awesome, compelling old-school test of skill it frequently feels plain mean-spirited/unfair/tedious as well (yes, tedious - come on, you start to see the exact same rooms and layouts turn up after about five tries of a particular area. Procedural content does not automatically make every playthrough individual and distinct, no matter what reviewers like to think).
in the first two dungeons you can do it with all the enemies. dosent work all the time but you can! in the 3rd dungeon is hard to get enemies out of their room but in first two dungeons works. specially with the warrior trowin axes -have long range edit: also the cultist trowin daggers v long range this was my strategy when i start playin ws -now i just rush into rooms and kill everything that moves -_^
