I had one of those as a Mage! It was difficult, but I managed to beat it by baiting a few out at a time to get instagibbed. Take your time, once you see the hoard, start retreating!
Man, if this game gets MFI support, it'll likely be the one game that pushes me to invest in the hardware. I've brought it up in another thread and I know I'm in the minority here, but I dislike touch controls in general. That is NOT to say that they aren't done well here; in fact, they are done very well, with no clutter on the screen, but I anxiously await the swipe sensitivity fix before sinking any more time in this game (sadly some of my swipes don't register which is too unforgiving in a game of this type).
OK so I think I answered my own question on the save files moving. Has anyone beaten the boss in the intro with the paladin? I am wondering what the secret is you get from beating him. I haven't gotten close to killing him.
This game will sell a ton of mfi products when support arrives....too bad most mfi just arent worth the $$$. I for one really want to play this with a controller. Shooting up/down doesnt always work well for me.
One thing that I LOVE about the game is the learning curve. It took me a couple days to beat Humphrey. I struggled and kept dying but learning new skills in the game and getting genuinely better is such a great feeling. In almost all iOS games, you can eventually win because you invested in certain skills on a skill tree and it just gets easier. Sure this has the skill tree, but if you don't have the skill and learn the game, you will still lose. I love this. Beating the first boss was one of the most gratifying experiences I've had in an iOS game. I appreciate the difficulty and the need to learn the game in order to do well. When I beat him with the Mage, I will celly so hard. It'll be crazy exciting. Thanks kepa and the rest of rocketcat for making a game on iOS that requires genuine skill. It's amazing and refreshing.
The text after dying in the intro is that you will die many times etc. so I don't believe (but have no inside knowledge) that the intro/training is beatable. I have know idea how many waves one could survive though!
i tried 30 times but is useless, his health bar is so big that makes it nearly impossible to beat it it stays on my nerve that i can't beat the intro boss
Im having so much trouble with the mage. I mean I go along smooth sailing, dodging projectiles, taking down foes, and then inevitably I get boxed into a corner or something and end up taking way more damage than I should from something. Its so much harder than warrior.
It's def a total different game with the Mage compared to the warrior. In that situation try using your flame power (up-swipe) I'm having difficulty also but hey it's all good fun
This game is crazy. I have been playing non-stop since last week and have only made it to the 2nd Boss once (with the Warrior). The crazy thing is that I feel like I have only scratched the surface of the game. I want to be good at it so badly and it's driving me nuts (my wife and two kids aren't that pleased with me either). Almost have the Warrior fully upgraded and hoping that helps.
Question... Should my next upgrade be "better chance at doing double damage" or "gain more energy when going to the next floor"??
Depends whether you charge attack a lot. If you want to get better as a Warrior, I suggest learning how to use your shield properly. If you always have 5+ shields when you die you need to work on that!
Any tips here on the warrior. Keep in mind I'm on an iPad mini so the shield swipe is unpredictable to say the least. So do you run with shield up, swing then hold to charge? I urs dodging and luring but still get my ass handed to me on lvl 3
Not that this thread needs it, but this game is awesome. Timing of a quick run is perfect for short breaks, an the randomness is like playing a new game every time. Really can't think of a bad thing to say.
^^^ This. I suck at the game. Haven't even made it to the first boss yet (but I have made it to the 5th floor ) but each time the game feels fresh and is perfectly paced. It's my preferred dungeon crawler by a mile. I've made it to the third floor with the Mage and really feel how the different character totally changes the game.
Your shield stays up until you attack again, so I usually charge up before I enter a room, hold it until I find the enemies I want to hit, then put the shield up and attack again
^This. You have to make rather large swipes to activate your shield. You'll just have to get used to that until there's an update. I suggest practicing it when there's no enemies around you so you can get a feel for it.
Usually I have my charge built up before entering a room so when I walk in I can stun and damage a bunch of enemies. Then I either keep slashing or activate my shield depending on if I'm in any danger or not.
