New gamer Just got the game. I want to support Rocketcat Games for their paid game model. I have never played this kind of game before, so I expect to get my arse kicked a lot But I hope it will be a lot of fun Luckily there are lots of tips in this thread and the FAQ on http://grfxpstore.com/waywardsouls. I was the one who whined about the retro/pixel art graphics, but the graphics looks phantastic in-game. Good job Rocketcat PS One important thing I allready have learned the hard way: "Quit Level" in the Options does not work the same way as using the Home button Maybe there should be a "Quit and save" button.
The warrior, I probably took at least ten attempts to kill him but I've had around 30 hours of playthroughs as until yesterday i rarely made it to the boss and when I did I had less than a quatre health, a couple of shields and if I'm lucky one potion, this time I had full health, full shields and four potions, I've only ever found two at most in a run and have never seen some of those in echoes vid, so I think I got lucky this time. I don't feel that I got any better I feel that I got lucky with the extra shields and having more health at the start but either way, I'm just glad to have killed him. I've just had a go with the rouge but didn't get far, I'm gonna have to get used to the different skills and adapt my strategy. I dunno what to do now, do I keep going with the warrior and tackle the tower or should I build up the other characters in the dungeon cos some of of those look better suited for the new enemies. Tower is a refreshing change though, it's a lot brighter so I'm not missing passages.
I tried using other characters but the Warrior is the only character i feel easy on. The slime creatures are so difficult on the tower
I was wondering the same, so I tried to continue in the tower with the warrior but then switched to other characters for a bit of change.
I've played this game about 10 times... And I'm starting to get kinda bored because I can't progress beyond the first five floors. I can get to the boss no problem. But then the boss destroys me before I can figure out what his pattern is.
Hi I've just started playing and I only have one request to the developer, can you make it possible for the landscape screen to work which ever way round it is held. Why? Because I am left handed so prefer the main button to the left side for my left hand when I need it to perhaps check an arriving email or message . Secondly if you have a case which opens like a book it has a cover which allows you to rest it in a way that you can play with the screen almost vertical. Many games have this as standard so I can't imagine it being too hard to adapt.. Thank you for viewing hope you can help.
Lol, I find the slime guys the easiest. The guys which turn invisible and stab you are sooo annoying! Any tips on beating them without losing life?
They'll always attack from your back after seeing you and disappearing. It's pretty easy to take advantage of that since there's zero randomness in their behaviour there (Show them your back, turn around, whack'em)
They (X) will always teleport behind you no matter how much space is in between you and the opposing wall. You are facing and moving to the right: 1) _ _ _ (You)> _ _ _ <(X) 2) _ _ _ _ (You)> _ _ (X)> *runs away and then teleports behind you* 3) (X)> _ _ _ _ _ (You)> _ Turn around and hack away or better yet, prepare a charge attack for them. Warriors have a pretty good reach so you should be fine unless they catch you off guard. Learn to swipe down whenever you're in those ohsh*t moments and you'll get farther. If you need to, go ahead and run around the room so you know exactly where they will reappear (right behind you). Be the one to set the pace and lead the dance instead of them surprising you.
Game is so good, I don't want it to end. More content, please! How is the game doing, sales wise? It seems to be doing ok based on the top charts, but you never know with the Appstore. Any plans to add more dungeons and bosses/midbosses beyond the 4th one?
If they teleport, they will *always* appear behind your current orientation. So if you're facing right, a teleporting/stealth dude will always appear on the left of the screen from you (of course, they can elect just to charge at you if they want to feel special). It's really pretty easy to just do a quick 180 degree turn and just wail on them, a little practice and you should be set. This is all assuming you're talking about the semi-transparent assassin guys in the tower levels, so sorry if I got the wrong idea.
I still haven't beaten the first boss, but I'm getting better. Using the warrior. Couple tips: Spoiler -I was using too heavy a left thumb on the movement controls, which made fast changes in direction difficult. A very light touch is sufficient. -I am learning to use my axes and shield. I wasn't using either of them nearly enough. -I didn't realize that when the boss landed the little smoke bits that shoot out damage you. Now I know to avoid them. When I left off last night, I was at the start of the 5th floor, with full life, one health potion, and two stun potions. So I think this might be the run!!!
First area down with warrior, Mage, and adv Adventurer. Now it's rogue time Still can't get to the boss of the second area, I'll get some upgrades and hopefully beat him soon.
I got the game 2 days ago. At first i was quite unimpressed by the graphics and clumsy controls. But now i am hooked. This is a really great game I finished the first boss with 3 characters so far (warrior, adventurer, mage) and i am now struggling in the tower. The classes are not balanced at all : The warrior is the easy mode : after having played the rogue and the mage for 3-4 hours, without success (went a couple times to the boss) i gave a try with the warrior, without any upgrade and killed him on my first try. I mean everything is easy : he hits a big area, hits fast, has a lot of hp. His specials (shield and axes are also great)รน The adventurer is also quite simple. Mostly again to his main form of attack. The mage is a lot more tricky to use since you need to aim properly which is really not that simple with the controls. But you.ve got range and a highly damaging attack which is great. Also, how do you deal with the dart throwing statues with a mage? The rogue is really bad. It.s probably the character on which i invested the more time and money. She is really difficult to use with crappy range, the need to target accurately and no range.
There's an option in the game settings that turns off screen rotation as a default setting. Try un selecting it.
