Quite nice! I hope to join "the club" sometime this week, the third section is really hard though. EDIT: Yeah, I don't see any Rogue in the Spellsword, aside from the fact that they both have dashes (which are used quite differently).
Fake Out is underpowered right now because its only a single use move. If you decreased the confusion window slightly and made it so that you can use it multiple times, even unlimited times on an enemy, I think that would be enough of a buff for the rogue. Sometimes it's annoying right now when I use my fake out on an enemy accidentally as I'm trying to escape from another guy, and situations like that would be a lot easier if I could use my fakeout as many times as I want. But yeah, my major concern for the game is making swipes on an iPad easier to activate. Maybe add a slider so that people can customize it themselves? Also, I really love the feature that allows you to have hats automatically change colors to match your armor. Just an aesthetic thing, but it makes every character look that much cooler.
first crack at basic information for my FAQ is complete. Will be adding a lot more info over time -- if there is anything you'd like to contribute or have me add, please PM me! If you have screenshots, even better. Wayward Souls FAQ: click here
Any tips on the best way to use the warriors shield? I beat the first boss pretty easily but really having trouble on the tower. Can't get past the 3rd floor. Feel like maybe there is something I'm missing or maybe just not using it right.
Finally a helmet!!!! After all the playthroughs and deaths (haven't even finished the first 5 dungeons...) I got ONE helmet. The game is difficult, but it becomes easier by playing and by buying upgrades to your character. So I guess it's okay as it is reg difficulty.
Beat the third boss again (this time with the Warrior), and... I still have no idea what he does. I mean, he appears to cast some manner of spells, but none of them did anything because I just used a few hourglasses and kept swinging until he died. I highly recommend saving any hourglasses you find in this dungeon until the end, because they make the boss a complete joke.
So, is there no way to heal? I have died probably 10 times and have only made it as far as the fourth floor. Am I missing something?
The warrior seems to get an increased drop rate for HP potions. Aside for that, every class heals a certain amount when they go down a dungeon level (staircase with red arrows). There's no other way I know to heal mid level. However, most classes have the "recover more health per level exit" perk and the "increase max health" perk as an available upgrade.
Ok enough for one day, i've populated the FAQ a bit more. If some of you wouldn't mind writing up some tips for certain characters, dungeons or bosses i'd appreciate it. I'm tired! Would like to make this the best it can be, but it's going to take some time and help from the community: Click for Wayward Souls FAQ
I wrote up some tips here http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=226260&page=56 if you want to use them.
thanks I apologize that it's part of my company's online store (unless you guys want to buy some stickers or custom t-shirts haha), it's the only domain I have, so I just jerry-rigged it to work. The store aspect of it shouldn't be too distracting. I know i'm missing a lot of the "tips and tricks" but I wanted to get the framework laid out, now I just need to add some good content. Again, any info, suggestions or tips, strategies, secrets, etc anyone has... just PM me. Hope this helps some people out!
I think I've seen this chest only once early game. I've never seen any other chest with a "head" on it. Only the coin chests. I believe I search every floor for everything before I leave (I check the map to see that the entire map is explored). Unless this is a completely hidden place I must be doing something wrong.. That's a great drop rate. I'm wondering if every device gets a different drop rate. I got an ipod touch 5g which not many people here have. So ehh.. 1 or 0 hats after exploring everywhere per 9 hours seems really harsh imo. Another theory is that there are more hats later game? I've been grinding 1st dungeon and barely the 2nd because I can only beat the 1st boss with warrior. I'm not good enough at all the dodge the jump attack from the 1st boss with any character that doesn't have a shield. So anyhow, all the rooms you guys have shown with hat chests are in dungeons past 2. So maybe that's where I need to be playing?
Please please please auto rotation. Now, I'm getting all notifications upside-down and at the bottom of the screen, totally messing with the controls.
Love this game as much of you do as well. Just had a few questions for the community... Has anyone beaten lord amaranth in the intro level? I saw a video with Kepa hinting at how hard it was and wanted to know if anyone gave it a go. Has anyone tried playing it on a monitor/TV with the apple lightning to VGA adapter? Was thinking it would look ok and give you a bit easier of a time dodging etc. Enjoy the hats!
I have tried nearly a dozen times and failed gloriously. It was mentioned that currently his health bar is just outrageous so killing him is pretty much impossible until they update.
Yea that's what I figured, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything, but it is freaking hard. Especially when he just flies around the screen and owns me. I did make it to the 3rd level with the warrior finally (after playing since day 1) Does anyone else note the ramp up in difficulty between each level is pretty steep? Not complaining, just wondering if its that much harder for everyone, or i just need to change my approach.
I didn't find the difficulty jump from bronze to silver too extreme. Silver to gold is undoubtedly has a larger increase in difficulty. You just need to figure out the best way to take down certain enemies, along with keeping your eyes peeled for mines.
