Eh I might have to stop playing for a while. Frustrated I played another hour or so to find at least one hat. Again, nothing. Stuck at awesome 4 hats. Nothing will drop. Every big chest is filled with coins.
I latched on to the rogue for some reason (probably unlimited dodge vs. limited-use skills), & almost have her maxed. Still haven't beaten Tower 2 with anyone yet. Far & away the best improvement over MG is the absence of hidden walls and rooms. It was due to my own compulsions but still was tedious and limited my overall enjoyment. For hat talk: I've played 6-ish hours and have found 10. I had a VERY long stretch in the middle of my time (I'd estimate 4 hours) where I found none.
Thanks blue rocket! Only reason I ask is that I heard there were some slight control complaints on the iPad.
When replaying dungeons, there is no reward for beating the final boss. There should at least be some coins or a chest or something.
How many times have you leveled the potion ability up for that character? I've leveled mine up a bit more than that. And my health regen on new floor is higher too. Just can't find a hat to save my life!
i kill all the nights/guards without lossing life and i can stay alive 3-5minutes to fight the boss, i hit him like ten times but most of the time i just dodge his attacks, but he is way2fast! Kepa, can you tell me how big is his life bar comparing to other bosses? thanks. edit: is the warrior paladin's little brother? they both feel overpower'd
Why is warrior said to be so strong? Actually, I don't know the right time to use shields and I often get attacked, though it isn't exhausted. It's mostly too late to guard attacks since warrior needs to walk up to enemies.
i wrote some tips on page 78 post#773 i think the warrior shield makes him temporarly invincible. you just need to master him
The third dungeon definitely seems to be some sort of Crypt of Decay, but I haven't seen a Well of Wishes anywhere. That fish wouldn't lie to me, right?
Best enemy patterns I saw in a long while....second area is simply awesome. The game SCREAMS for iCloud sync or something similar though....I MUST continue playing when the iPhone is charging
Finally beat the first boss. It took about 10 runs as the warrior to finally get him, but the sense of accomplishment was worth it. Note to Rocketcat: Please, please, please don't add a casual mode. The reward and fun of Wayward Souls is tied up in its ability to smite you at any given moment. It wouldn't be nearly as fun if the challenge was removed. Note to people who want a casual mode: Keep playing, but if it's too hard, play Mage Gauntlet instead. Similar gameplay, but much easier.
Can anyone tell me if this game at all like Solomon's Boneyard? I love that game, but primarily because you can save up coins/rings to help you last longer each time you play. I'm normally not a big fan of starting from scratch each game, but a way to build on my characters would definitely appeal to me more.
Well, id like to second that vote, but there's nothing wrong with a casual mode if its optional. I get the frustration a lot of casual gamers feel with roguelikes, cause causal gamers dont like to lose. An easier game would generate more revenue, and allow the devs to add more content. I'm ideologically against casual gaming, but if the buzz of a casual mode addition would bring the company more revenue, do whatever. Means more levels, more chars, more goodness in general.
The guards in Amaranth Keep can block attacks with their shields, even if they're lying on the ground stunned. Is this intentional? I doesn't look like it is.
