agree! the shield is the best one and makes the warrior best character, also dont forget his trowin axes that can bring enemys to you and you can kill almost all enemys one by one without entering theyr room i start playing as the warrior and finished first two dungeons in my first try. i never use the forge upgrades, i find the shield and sword you start with being more powerful. can't wait to play the new 20 floor dungeon, hope will be on nightmare/brutal dificulty any news about when the update will come out?
Wow, what a great game. Somehow Rocketcat have managed to churn out their best game yet (well, except maybe for SQH, probably still my fave iOS game ever). The pixel art is absolutely sublime, but special props must go to the sound guy as the music and FX are top notch. Some suggestions: I'd love to be able to choose hats from the main menu, and have them carry over between games. As it stands, I don't go in and don a hat at the start of a new game very much so the joy of collecting hats is somewhat wasted IMO. I agree with the other guy who said bring in stats. Stats, stats and more stats! I'd also like to see a Bestiary added to the game, a short back story on the various enemies you meet and kill. I'm normally not one for lore, but a funny little blurb in typical Rocketcat style would add some extra charm to an already brilliant package.
Game Impressions Just bought it and I had played it for 30 minutes. I did enjoyed how the game plays out but I have some questions. Will there be cross device save file transfer? I prefer if I dont have to restart again on my phone after playing on my tablet. Will there be a more casual and easier mode for those who arent so good at the game? The game is quite brutally difficult which is a good thing for me but not everyone might like that. I did like the pixel art a lot as it felt like something from PC in the 90s while the touch control is very well done in general. The iPad controls for abilities might be a bit inaccurate at times but the rest controls just fine to me. I am glad to see more and more premium games on Appstore.
@Devs: maybe it's just me, but could you put a gamma/brightness slider in the game itself? It's the first time in all my years playing on the iPhone that I have to turn screen brightness up to the maximum to enjoy the graphics. They are very dark IMO, which makes me miss fantastic graphic details. I tend to have the phone brightness bar at 25%, which has been ok with every game I've played until this one. Of course, I can turn up and down the brightness bar of the phone every time I play, but I'd like to have a permanent setting for the game.
i've read is neary impossible to beat the intro, but this makes it more atractive to try a few questions for the devs., how bigger is his health bar comparing to other bosses? and what happens if you beat it, you keep the paladin, you get some medal/achievement or what?
Initial suggestions Please consider the following suggestions: 1. Increase drop rates of healing potions 2. Higher sensitivity settings for movement 3. Lower drop rates of bombs 4. More achievements for completing certain battle strategies using forge weapons, a lot of variety there 5. More coin drops from enemies, dying at the same level 10 times in a row is not fun, just to afford a minimal upgrade 6. Rogue should be able to throw daggers in addition to stealth and kick
i found 20 hats in 4-6hours of playing. after beating the game i played alot, think the key to find them is replay the dungeons and explore 100% of the floors, i usually found alot of hats in the rooms with many enemys
for everyone that has trouble beating the dungeons: play the warrior untill you max out his passive skill, just play to master him and after you'll max out his skills you'll feel like cheating. don't use forge upgrades. attack and swipe out your shild, use your trownin axes to alert the enemys and they will come to you so it will be easier killin them one by one. the bosses are easy to kill, the key is to reach them with full health, and the warrior health bar is v big, also you get alot of health when passing to next floor, you dont even need healing potions. is hard to be killed -thats how overpower'd the warrior is edit: your shield should be just your backup in case you miss to dodge the attacks, but you gotta move alot and react very fast
Wow... that's insane. Makes me wonder if I got mine glitched. I explore nearly all of every floor. I just hit about 5 hours = 0 hats. Getting pretty annoyed. All the big chests are just boxes of coin. I haven't beaten the 2nd dungeon so replaying the first and a little of the second for the past 5 hours. Sadly some of the digital hats are better than ones in real life.
This game is insanely awesome. The retro just works here. Having a blast. If you're into dungeon crawlers at all, this is a must play.
sucks man! i've got a hell of a lot more than 3 hours into it... but here's my nice little hat collection so far:
you are a machine! i'm going to just do some mining for hats and coins for a while, i don't want to rush and beat everything yet.... i really just wanted to unlock the Cultist so I could play as whoever I want to...
@blue rocket: I'm not even going to look at that picture. It's making me insanely sad. I'm seriously starting to think it's a glitch because that's weird how people can make so many but I have only 4 hats total from a total of 6-7 hours of play time. That's seriously aggravating.
