Hey as for the controls debate, whatever happens I think it would be nice to have the option of keeping the original control scheme? It works beautifully on my iPhone 5c and I would be sad if I had to get used to new controls after all this play time
Welcome to the club, aha! Wow, the most potions I've ever gotten from a run was two. Have fun with the Cultist. It's tricky at first, but the learning curve is relatively easy.
Finally beat the gold dungeon with the Mage. What Kepa said about the Mage being good against bosses is true; I used a Time Circle at the start of the battle and unloaded a ridiculous amount of spells into the boss's face, using a couple of robe charges when my energy ran out to restore it instantly. He died as soon as the Time Circle went away. I don't even know what his attacks are, since he didn't get a chance to use them.
Yah I almost never find a potion during a run, this one was out of control! I still had most of my life anyway when I killed the final boss, but it was comforting to have the extra health on tap!
Darn, I wasn't taking a video of a bug but the strangest most beneficial thing happened on the 7th floor of Amaranth Keep. I entered a room and the exit was there despite having enemies to kill. I dodged all the enemies and went straight to the exit and cleared the dungeon. No boss fight! There wasn't any special configuration for the portal either. It was in the middle of the room on top of the carpet.
Apparently there's already a Wayward Souls wiki but there are currently no pages in it. http://waywardsouls.wikia.com/wiki/Wayward_Souls_Wiki
This was posted a few pages back ... Kepa said they ran out of time and it will be added in an update.
I think this game would benefit from checkpoints every 2 floors or so. I can't really see beating even the first dungeon and if the difficulty goes higher in later levels like most games, this will just be the super hexagon of arpgs. It's just not as good as Mage gauntlet but really they are different so can't really compare. Either checkpoints or more potions would smooth it out. I har there are health potions in the game but I didn't see a single one in 6 lives or so and 5 floors.
