Agreed on the stun pots. Jeez. Although I can clear the Mines most tries with the mage, now... it's just the actual boss that always gets me. It is paramount, playing as the mage, to back off as much as possible and use powered attacks from extreme range (usually from outside the rooms, too :p) - sure, you could use the repel move but why would you bother when you've always got the space to make sure the enemies can't possibly hit you?

Except then the boss comes along and is all ah-ah-ah, none of that, you'll fight me in a tiny room with no space to do anything and you'll like it, and then you die. :(

After reading some of your comments. You strongly give off the vibe that everything that comes out of your mouth is a desperate cry for attention-whoring (correct me if I'm wrong...but I'm not). what you've just said... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Somehow made it to the 9th floor of the Fallen Kingdom with the Mage, but died before I could reach the boss. There are a lot of enemies there that are extremely dangerous at close range but not very threatening from afar (liked the robed ones, who mostly just stand there and occasionally try to resurrect someone if you're not right next to them). This is good for the Mage, but makes things really difficult for the Rogue.

Maybe I'm just naturally good at the mage or something, but I think I had the easiest time on the first area with her. It's really easy to just sit back and snipe enemies with her power attacks and just dust if you get swarmed. The boss was a little more difficult but his attacks aren't too hard to dodge if you don't get greedy (some good Dark Souls advice right there).

    Thank you thank you :)

Now a real question...due to the fact that I am currently tired of getting murder raped by the third level I am attempting to actually survive the intro, is it even possible to kill the boss or am I just kinda playing with my dick here?

This game so far, is fun, but I think there's some serious flaws.

Most of the spellforge upgrades (at least for warrior) are useless. I get the slower but "stronger" weapon, and enemies that took 2 hits before still take 2 hits.. but now i have a slower weapon. Then if i get the much slower weapon with jump attack, the jump attack cant break shields like the other swords can. Or the short sword with increased crit chance. It doesnt actually tell you how much more often it crits, but from my experience its not enough for the sword length trade-off. And finding this out on the floor right before a boss is infuriating.

I find myself not upgrading shields either because each floor can vary with what kind of enemies itll have, so im not going to take a physical+ magic- shield vice versa, when it might be good this floor but it could contributing to my death 1 floor later.

This sort of problem isnt limited with just the warrior either. I know there's a few upgrades ive had with every class that seriously gimps the player.

I feel like ultimately, these upgrades are far too risky if you havent tried them out before, and therefore this doesnt reward trying these things out.

No problem, but I'm calling the swipe controls partially broken at this point, at least on my device (iPad Retina with latest IOS version - 7.1 I think).

(Note: I can't speak to the ipad experience as i don't have an ipad)

I was having somewhat similar issues with activating abilities on my iPhone, but once I realized how important the shield is I spent some time practicing the swipes (and sword canceling) and now I can do them reliably and quickly. Practice!

On upgrades, the slower, heavier hitting swords are quite nice since you can cancel the waiting period to swing them again by throwing an axe or bringing your shield up (something you should be doing as a warrior anyways). I do really like the normal sword you start with, and I do pass on sword upgrades most of the time.

Most of the shield upgrades are cool, between magic resist and physical resist I would take the physical resist one since pretty much all magic is slow and easy to avoid, and the other shield upgrades provide different (but all very useful) utilities.

The armor upgrades are all straight up upgrades. These are what I really like to see at the emberforge.

Warrior's designed to be easiest to get into, that's why he's first. Though I think it's interesting that different people say different classes are overpowered.

Rogue invisibility potions destroy bosses too. And there's a trick with Mage that makes her a really effective boss killer. Health drops are super rare by design.

Yeah there's a swipe sensitivity bug with the bigger iPads. We'll fix this and see if that helps with the control issues. I hate buttons from a design perspective, and I think the issue isn't the lack of buttons so much as the buggy swipe sensitivity.

Hopefully people try things out because the character lives aren't worth much. You're probably going to die anyway. May as well experiment to see what your favorite upgrades are.

Jump attack not breaking shields is a bug. Short sword also attacks way faster. I was hoping people would pick shields based on what enemies they have the most problems with, versus the likelihood of finding them in their area. The third area has a lot of casters, for example.

Cultist and Warrior down! Cultist was hard at first, but then got really easy once I found the perfect ability setup and a few interesting exploits. Warriors constant shield drops pretty much makes hime invincible if used properly. I'd say the difficulty for playing each class is (from hardest to easiest) Rogue > (Spellsword = Adventurer) > Mage > Cultist > Warrior.

I felt this may be an issue as well. But the more I played, the more I realized those slower, more powerful weapons/axes do indeed inflict more damage. For instance, in the third dungeon, those purple enemies that hide and then chrage attack just died with one swing oppose to two. So it does seem to help.

    Maybe they're doing it wrong?

I finally got enough money to finish upgrading the Rogue. It turns out the Gift is a 5% reduction in energy use.
I haven't tried this yet, since I haven't been upgrading the Mage at all until just now, but does this involve her skills that give her energy when you use a robe/tome charge? If I'm understanding them right, you should be able to use 3 of them in a row to instantly regain 90% of your energy (when fully upgraded).
