You guys are so hardcore. I haven't even been able to beat the catacombs. Having much fun trying, though. Love Rocketcat and waiting anxiously for DR2C on iOS. Gonna grab WS on PC even to support them if I don't see myself playing there. I got DR2C but did just a few runs myself, apart from creating characters, since I'd much rather play it on mobile.
I can certainly respect that opinion even though I disagree. For me, this is hands down one of the best mobile titles I have ever played and I will be purchasing on Steam if they ever get that done. As somebody that grew up on brutality such as Ghosts and Goblins and Castlevania I very much appreciate what Rocketcat has created here. Mobile gaming has fallen out of favor with me for various reasons but it sure as hell isn't due to phenomenal entries such as Wayward Souls. What an absolute classic.
Amem, brother! And it seems WS on Steam is very close. I am going to buy there, even if I probably won't touch it there. That's how much I love those guys.
Just discover this game thanks to all your positive comments and I confirm, this game is just awesome!
Great to have you on board! We're all keen to hear about your anger for cragworms and mama slimes *vietnam flashbacks*
Just managed to get on eighth floor of the catacombs. My best so far. One day I am gonna beat it. With all characters, nonetheless.
Ha! I am getting murdered on floors 2-3 of the catacombs with my rogue or mage. Difficulty spikes hard on the catacombs and you have to be on your game and "in the zone". I will persist but, dammit it's tough; one mistake and you are done.
I actually don't mind the Mage because you have better range than the custos, and can one shot the ninjas before they hit you if you're quick enough. I've beaten the catacombs with everything but the rogue, and I still find it pretty tough. I agree that it's a pretty big difficulty spike!
Awesome to see new players discovering this game this long after release. Hopefully you get as many hours of enjoyment out of it as many of us here have. I'll be picking up the steam version and I'll never play or even install it. Lol gotta keep the lights on at Rocketcat.
Goodnight sweet prince. Playing Binding of Isaac really gave me a lot of flashbacks of playing WS, I can't believe it took me this long to play it. I guess I'll have to play Spelunky next lol.
Don't forget Death Road to Canada, that it's coming very soon (hopefully). The game is also brutal, at least the first version. Don't know how it has changed with the updates, since I am waiting to play on iOS. And I finally beat the Catacombs with the Warrior. Man, that was TOUGH, but very rewarding. Now, I have only the other chars to do that and keep going. lol Finally unlocked the cultist. Well, time to give her a try.
I've only really recently become interested in DRTC and now I can't wait! Congratulations! The difficulty spike at the Catacombs is massive, well done on beating it. I still can't do it with my rogue haha I think you'll find the cultist to be a pretty powerful class! However most of her emberforge upgrades are rubbish except for the orange bottle
Thanks! Lucky you, since I have been waiting for it a long time. Even worse because I have played a few hours on Steam, but vowed then to wait for the iOS release, which is much more comfortable and enjoyable for for me. I am DYING to play it again and I have read about the improvements that have been made. By the way, I did my first run with her and she seems a very improved rogue of sorts. Got also the "Clean Sweep" achievement.
I don't even really know that much about it! I don't want to get too excited about it or ruin the surprise haha With a few upgrades to backstab she becomes quite OP in the right hands. Her starting abilities have fantastic synergy - cloak into a group, blind them, then slaughter them one by one. Evil. Only real drawback is she has no 'I need to nope out of here right now' abilities to run away or prevent damage (not counting forge upgrades). Having been a Mage fan (first character I completed the gold and diamond dungeons with) I love throwing daggers!
Wow, she is def OP. I have cleared the Tower without even break a sweat. The second boss was almost... too easy? I am looking forward to see what kind of damage on the Catacombs. Especially against those stealth #%}^{^%{%]ers. But first I am gonna have to beat that level with all other characters, before I move on with her. Wish me luck! Time for the Mage. Edit: on my first run died on the 5th floor of the Catacombs. Not bad at all. I might beat it earlier than expected, once I get the hang of it.
Wow, beat the Catacombs on my second run with the Mage. Next stop: Rogue. I suspect it might take even longer than the Warrior. But no rush...
Wow congrats! Rogue has always been my weakest character since I don't upgrade her, but the missing achievements are spurring me on
Thanks! I think I am going to have a hard time with her. I've died on the fourth floor on my first try and it was nowhere as smooth as the Mage. But no rush. One day I am going to be able to veat the dungeon, even if takes a long long time.
Damn, died on the 7th floor with the Rogue. It was all my fault. I had 3 hourglasses, which would have made the boss fight really easy. On the bright side, I see now that I can beat the Catacombs with hear earlier than expected, with some luck.
You're almost there, dude. You only need one hourglass to destroy the boss. Just be sure not to get too near the body while backstabbing. The projectiles can still hit you before they disappear from the hourglass effect.
