Another one? Wow That's why Rocketcat is one of my favorites(alongside Simogo). I will buy anything they release.
Yes, they're releasing an update that introduces the Paladin character class to the game, along with a bunch of other smaller additions and changes. I absolutely agree that it's awesome to see a game get this much post-launch support. I think Rocketcat is aware is that that level of support is reciprocated by their fans, and those "free" updates pay dividends in the form of more buzz for their game (therefore more curious players), and that "I'll buy anything they release" fan support. I'm just happy they're doing it, this is likely my favourite video game of all time, spanning all platforms.
According to their FB/twitter, Death Road to Canada's release has been moved to July 22 for various reasons. With that, Wayward Souls PC and the iOS Paladin update will be delayed to as early as mid-August.
Yeah, that sounds about par for the course. Rocketcat always seems to have a lot on the plate for a 3-man team, it has to be hard to keep a deadline schedule on track. One guy gets sick for a week and the team is buckled.
Yeah Death Road is up to July 22 for the PC release. I need to post some updates to the iOS thread, too, I'll do that in a bit. Thanks for keeping this thread going! iOS Paladin Update will be in August or September, I think.
What about a "random hat" option in which when starting the adventure you wear one of the hats that you already own on the next (and probably final) update? Something simmilar to what Crossy Road and other games do. This way I think every game might feel a little more fresh, since we play many and many runs. I don't know if it would take much work, but it would be a nice addition to an already awesome game.
Kepa, has there ever been any reasonably advanced thoughts towards co-op play in Wayward Souls/Mage Gauntlet/related future product? Death roading to Canada with a pal is all kinds of fun, and I imagine being a wayward soul in company would be even more rewarding.
I think we've all learned not to hold our breath for these update release dates # I don't care how long it takes, I just want it!
Well, August is history, so hopefully this "August/September" update window is in it's latter half. Kepa?
Oh I'm patient, but I don't see anyone else keeping the thread alive. We've been waiting over a year for this update, I don't think our patience can be questioned at this point.
same feelings, master Quazonk. because we talking about one of the best games ever, without a doubt. someday i will beat the endless dungeon, i swear. :3
Exactly. If we sound impatient, it's purely because we love the game and are dying for more reasons to play it. It's like waiting for your favourite band to drop a long-anticipated album.
They already promise the update is on the way, so, I think there's no reason to put even more pressure than there's already on Death Road to Canada. Rocketcat is great, but their resources are not that high. So, I think they are already overloaded as it is. More pressure is likely only making things worse for them.
Ok, can we quit acting like we're phoning their houses and harassing them here? Looking for something along the lines of "Yep, still on course for September!" or "things have been busy with Death Road, gonna have to push it back to November" at a request rate of about once a month, from maybe 2 guys, and I'm speculating that there's even a second guy. This isn't Mighty No. 9-level release pressure, people. They aren't sprouting gray hairs over Quazonk from Toucharcade. I'm trying to bump the thread to keep interest up and to keep people talking about the game. How about a comment or two in anticipation of the Paladin update? What would you like to see? What mashup of characters are you hoping they play like?
From the rate things are going for Death Road getting its first major AORTA update and the upcoming iOS release, September is now unlikely for Wayward Souls PC. From the FB page: I'm on the side that Rocketcat benefits to keep this thread alive with the occasional mild bumps. Not everyone here in TA follows their social media for Wayward Souls news, so this thread serves as their only source of info. This generates interest for the new guys who have read about this game for the first time. I'll probably buy the PC version not only to get it early, but also in anticipation of the iOS update requiring a newer iOS version. For the Paladin himself, I'd like to see an unique character face when he changes his hat. Gameplay-wise, I'd really like to use his tutorial forge skills in actual runs. Aside from that, I want to simply be surprised with the new stuff. Changes that I like are buffing some weapons like the warrior's Bane of Bones or changing how adventurer's Red Death works.
