Hi Kepa, I noticed that some pets' descriptions remain unchanged. Fire salamander's says it still offer +10 hp recovery

Hi Tuzzo, I think some walkthrough videos on YouTube may help you to get the hang of the boss fight faster.

Actually with the release of new pets, they should be able to make things easier for you. Some will give more floor health regen, some max health, and some will even attack occasionally for you. Though it still depends on luck of course.

Aaaaall right! I've managed to get past the mines with my first hero (warrior). Give me another 4-5 years and with any luck I might also be able to beat catacombs with him :(:(:(
Damn this game is hard and I totally suck XD

After I beat bronze dungeon with half-powered up warrior, I was able to get to the boss in mines with a zero-skillpoints rogue and bring him to half health o_O
May it be that I suck because of how the warrior works and maybe I'm playing it the wrong way? o_O

    Guess what? Classified.
    Classified.
Maybe. The mistake most people make with this game is thinking you can charge in and destroy everything, but Wayward Souls requires Moree tactics than that. Try playing conservatively- your sword length is your advantage- most enemies can't attack you with melee outside that range.
If you really like conservative play like me then the Mage is a good bet. By taking enemies down one by one from afar they don't have the chance to hit you.

You're somewhat right, meaning that the few moments when I lost my nerve and charged in, I've had big chunks of health taken away by melee enemies.
Nonetheless, most of the damage taken comes from ranged attackers. I can't seem to dodge every single dynamite/bone/spell/projectile/you-name-it they throw me.
I think it's just a matter of learning to use the shield effectively.
I've noticed I can use the rogue's dodge move more successfully than the warrior's shield. Maybe that's why I was able to reach the first boss the very first time I tried the rogue.

Now that I've sunk my teeth back into this game with the Gauntlet mode (which is excellent by the way), I really can't wait for the Paladin update. Really never deleting this game from my phone.

P.S. Kepa, any consideration into maybe adding a few extra achievements? For beating the Gauntlet, for example? Or maybe add an extra "medal" icon to each character's avatar in the character select screen? If you couldn't tell, I'm very much a carrot-chaser completionist, and these are the things that keep me playing a game. So if you ever introduce a "beat the Endless Shadow" achievement, so help me God!

You'll be immortalized for being the only player to reach the end of Endless with an achievement. That achievement will be simply named, "Shadow's End" :)

I agree with you about the lack of Gauntlet achievements. The difficulty is similar to Labyrinth's that I'd like having a medal for each class that has beaten it. I NEED THEM GAUNTLET MEDALS, KEPA! ;)

Hi, Kepa, I was locked in a similar room as before today, but luckily I have the reflection shoes this time, so I managed to kill the monster outside the room somehow(the door just doesn't block enemy fires it seems), and then the second wave spawned. So I'm guessing that the reason some doors don't open may be that there are multiple waves of enemies.

I know the Gauntlet update is still pretty fresh, and I'm having a blast challenging myself using my "weaker" characters to get through it, but Kepa, can you tell us anything more about when we can expect the Paladin update to drop? I for one don't care if it's in 2 weeks or 2 months, I just like having a date to look forward to. When you came in here and told us that the gauntlet update was dropping on the 18th a few weeks ahead of its release, that was awesome.

    From Rocketcat's facebook page:

Based on their interviews, they plan to release Death Road in May. I'm guessing Paladin for iOS will hopefully come in June or July.

June or July? I thought I was coming March. Oh well, more to look forward to I guess.

Most people seem to be better at a particularly character. And what character this is seems to just be personal preference. Unless it's the Cultist, which is overpowered. Keep trying and you'll probably find your matching character!

Yeah, Gauntlet was supposed to get some different achievements. And it was supposed to turn the character's "name plate" on character selection a different color. I think they just got excluded due to time. I'll try to get that in for the BIG UPDATE.

Including an achievement that 99.9999% of players will never get is tempting!

I think it's mostly some door hitboxes that aren't properly placed, especially north-facing doors. But not sure, there's so many rooms now and there's no good way to identify the rooms except by getting screenshots from people. Send screenshots of broken rooms if you can!

About 2 months, maybe a little longer.

Yeah the deal is that Death Road to Canada's launch pushes everything back. Death Road has to come out first, then Wayward PC, then the Paladin update for iOS at around the same time. By June is pretty likely, but it's contingent on Death Road coming out on time (this time).

Also to-do for the Paladin update: Looking into the mysterious crashing bug that affects enough people for it to be a problem. We've looked into it before, but the bug keeps mysteriously disappearing for testers before we can really get any good testing done. We'd have to devote some really solid time to it, and we won't get to do this until the Paladin stuff is in.

On the fence about getting this. Has it been optimised for iPhone 6 Plus? Resolution wise?

Please dont add a nearly impossible achievement. I hate it when devs do that on Xbox; those 900ish/1000 gamerscores bug the **** out of me lol

I'll ask the opposite in that you DO add a nearly impossible achievement. It's kind of nice when you've put hundreds of hours into a game, and it culminates in some kind of rare reward that you can feel proud of having earned. This is not a "casual" game by any definition, and a nigh-impossible achievement is totally par for the course for the type of game this is. If it were a casual puzzle platformer, yeah, make basically everything fairly easily achievable. But "difficulty" and "challenge" are the hyphenated middle names of this game, and a super-hard achievement would really encapsulate that.

While everyone is talking about achievements, I unfortunately just deleted the game for space knowing that I can never beat the Catacombs without a code. It just felt too depressing playing a game knowing the final content is inaccessible to me with a strange glitch. Maybe one day it'll work in the future..

On one hand I like the idea of a super hard achievement but on the other, a really tedious difficult achievement got me to stop playing Binding of Isaac.

The main gameplay screens are. I can't remember if the menus were or not. I don't have a Plus so can't check right away. Anyone know?

Still no luck on this one. We're going to look into this deeply for the Paladin update.

A good practice i see in a lot of games is the devs reward those players by giving them an in-game item or something along those lines, rather than an achievement. This would be the best of both worlds. Theyre not hindering those nut head completionists' (like myself :)) progression and theyre rewarding those super talented and skillful players (like you!)
