Yeah we didn't get around to true screen rotation, as the game uses the same engine as Mage Gauntlet. So similar problems. Might have to tackle that in an update.

Floor numbers/best run stuff in the character screen was planned. Along with better looking up of equipment in the pause screen. Ran out of time. Update material definitely.

Problem with iCloud is, if something goes wrong with it, there's not much you can do. So much of it is handled by Apple. We'll look into something though, if not iCloud. I hear Dropbox integration is used a lot in non-game apps.

Right now I'm taking a lot of the button suggestions as mostly being due to the lack of sensitivity options for iPad. We'll do sensitivity settings for big iPads first (we just forgot, did something like this in Mage Gauntlet), and then see if that clears up the button requests. I think buttons are pretty awful.

Adventurer has amazing DPS once you learn him. His shortsword attacks a lot faster than the warrior while generally doing the same damage. Though Spellsword also gets that high DPS shortsword, while also getting dashing. Spellsword's probably the most powerful character in the game, overall.

There are health drops at the ending of each floor and very rarely in chests but I guess that was just to make it as hard as it is.

Well this is my opinion on touchscreen controls and WS.

Good, solid controls need to be above all, functional and simple to execute. I believe that's what RC has successfully implemented with WS. Nothing revolutionary needed. Personally I hate virtual buttons and can be a sign of laziness from the developer. With virtual controls, you're basically saying, "Well, this device thingy doesn't have no buttons to press! Lets mimic a game pad and implement in the UI!" Why not think a bit outside the box and consider what you can do with a touchscreen. A large part of it's uniqueness is the layer between the player and the game.

Some games take it too far though and forget the simple part. I'd say considering all this, WS control scheme is quite excellent. It's a clean, tight design and works flawlessly on my iPhone.

We have a major title release which requires a lot of precise movement and the developer didn't take the virtual button path and that should be applauded.

After taking about a dozen attempts to even reach floor 3 of the Fallen Kingdom, I'm absolutely terrified of this upcoming fourth area. I should probably try out the other characters a bit more, but I'm getting close to fully upgrading the Rogue and getting the energy bonus that applies to everyone.

Need some help from you guys:

I'm putting together a Wayward Souls thread on NeoGAF. Thread is done, but I'm trying to think of a good title. My prefered choices would be "Wayward Souls | IOS gaming at its finest" or "Wayward Souls | IOS has its Dark Souls". But well...a lot of GAF isn't that accepting or open to IOS gaming so I fear that making a statement like that or comparing the game to DS in the title will just turn the thread into nothing but negative comments about how the game sucks and can't compare to Dark Souls because it's an IOS game

So bascially any title suggestions? Other possibilities I was thinking of were
    "Atmospheric pixels and randomized death"
    "Pixels, magic, and randomized death"
    "Only the skilled survive"

Man, what a game. I've played 5 or 6 rounds so far and I'm loving it. I've beaten the first dungeon with the Rogue and Adventurer. Looking forward to trying out Warrior and Mage soon, and the other two when I unlock them.

One bug I've found is that you can get stuck between chests that are up against a wall if you charge attack or dash into the wall they're against. You can get out by dashing or charge attacking again, but if it happens in a fight you're probably going to die.

I 100%ed Mage Gauntlet and am looking forward to doing the same with this game. Hopefully the hat farming is less prevalent though. Spent like 10 hours farming hats just for that last achievement.

Also, there aren't any cheevos for mercilessly slaughtering flowers/stools/bone piles. What gives Kepa? You're going soft. :p

I wasn't sure what to do about this! Could try messing with it, like speed bonus if you're not in combat. But that always seemed clunky to me. What I tried to do is just limit the size of how big a level can get. Maybe they're juuust a little too big though sometimes, given backtracking.

DIE ON THE TOILET, LIKE ELVIS

Good luck with the Neogaf thread haha, yeah it's always a powderkeg for iOS games.

Yeah woops. The only really bad thing that can happen is playing a character with a limited, ammo based dash.

Hats should take forever to get them all. You can't really "farm" them though except by playing. It will absolutely take forever to get that achievement though.

I think this decribes quite well how we all feel about this game. Plus, if the community is more close minded, they might get interested. But, as you said, don't put a comparison with Dark Souls. People are so prompt to throw negative comments.

I still think that there should be some sort of cosmetic shop. Something we can use our coins on after we've upgraded everything.

after few hours of playing i'm gettin used with the controls, i can even control the power attack directions. pretty easy controls after you play a bit

best strategy so far is: patience. you can kill most of the enemys one by one, without even entering their room, just attract them and they will come to you. the swipe attacks are so useful, example the warrior shield is great, and his trowin axes v good too

i'm just enjoying the game with every character, dont wanna rush to the end...

so far i collected 8 hats (just one looks like a hat, the other 7 are helms) and all looks pretty cool

one of best games i played in a long time
    congrats to the devs

Anyone else got the bug when playing with the Mage where some attack animations of the enemies and mage just disappear? Happened to me about thrice today

    frame rate in tutorial

I'm on an iphone 5 and it looked like I was dropping frames in the tutorial section. Haven't noticed it since then. Awesome game btw.

The downswipe/upswipe abilities. Mage's default setup is Gust/Flamespray.
