Still tracking down the crash bug for Catacombs. Seeing if we can get people in on a Testflight that are having the crashes. Send support an email if the newest version crashes you and you've set up for Testflight. We're only going to be testing for the crash fix, though, so nothing exciting.

I forgot what the gems are worth exactly. We know about the sound bug but never tracked it down, restarting fixes it.

Yeah this is another one we never tracked down properly but we're aware of it. It's likely just due to low device memory getting used up eventually, faster if you're shooting particles constantly. Restarting does fix it, though.

We fixed this one, but the fix won't show up until we do the update that adds a bunch of new map rooms. Cherish it while you can.

If it's before it, it'd be only slightly before it.

Thanks for the reply Kepa. Yet since the glitch will eventually happen as long as I use my old device, I guess restarting will only buy me another few minutes without this glitch. Maybe I will just use other upgrades, they are also pretty awesome anyway.

I still remember back in the old days, many people complained about Mage being weak, but hey, look at the endless leaderboard now, isn't she almost dominating it?
PS I haven't seen any rogue on the leaderboard though…

    Thanks!

I'd imagine Rogue would eventually get murdered by big rooms of difficult enemies. Rogue was never that good at fighting a bunch of stuff at once, and eventually Endless has a chance to send a battalion after you each room. Even Cultist gets way better tricks and dealing with large groups.

Yeah you're right. I've diamonded all six characters, yet my Rogue can still get killed at the 1st floor in Endless if there are several catacomb rooms… I think she relies more on items and upgrades to survive than others, so the first 2~3 levels can be a hard time for her. However, surviving a big room with her feels really good ;)

I'm never good at warrior, though he's generally considered as the new-player-friendly one among the casts. I often forgot his shields (maybe for that I feel blocking between attacks somewhat slow down my DPS), and when I did remember (or was finally quick enough to bring them out) to use them, they don't seem very durable; several charges will be consumed in a moment. Any advice about the shields, Kepa?
I recently found that stained glass sword II is actually quite enjoyable though. Reflecting several projectiles at a time and the relatively low energy consumption (or is it just my illusion?) make it a decent upgrade.

Oh and I seem to remember that the fire sprite lantern upgrade was buggy in that it doesn't really attack the enemies? Is that fixed?

Oh and one more thing: any spoiler of the long-awaited Paladin?;)

The shield became a lot less restricting for me once I realised you don't have to face the damage to block it, because screw logic.
I recently played the adventurer and I don't recall the Sprite actually attacking, he just floated near me for a few seconds, blocking magic stuff.

Thanks Duivs! After reconsideration, I guess the real reason why I don't use them is that subconsciously I don't like that it neither gets me out of trouble nor deals damage (except those 2 upgrades, whose damage still seem inferior to other characters' down swipes). Rogue, Cultist and Spellsword's downswipes can get them outa trouble and lead to more damage output, while Mage and Adventurer's deal considerable damage while keeping foes at bay. But shields don't do these 2 things, while being able to be consumed quickly. Bah, maybe I just need to shut up and practice more ;)

I just tried Rogue's Tormentors, and didn't quite understand their strength. They feel inferior to Giantstompers. The dashing distance is short, and enemies are not stunned, plus that without crticals they can't one-shot enemies, they seem risky yet without much rewards.

This game will be on my device forever. It's a beautiful piece of art and I play it almost every weekend. I haven't gotten all medals for my characters yet. Still haven't maxed them either. It's such a wonderful game.

I show my friends and they're still amazing at it & end up picking it up.

I know right, being invincible while using a shield is really underpowered ;)

Don't forget about the axes though, even if most people dislike them (I don't know why? Low damage?)
Warrior gets offensive AND defensive abilities, whereas the rogue and spellsword only get the dash which they utilise for both offence and defence.

Yeah, that low damage. Yet they are good for luring foes out.

Talk about luring out foes, I think Rogue needs to do it badly but has no ranged attacks to help her. So when standing in the doorway can't draw enemies' attention, or when they are blocked by fences, she will have to face her nightmare, especially when facing the undead or the thorns. Even Spellsword has several spells which can help to draw enemies' attention… Poor Renee, no crying. They take all the fancy stuff, but you take ALL THE MONEY

EDIT: hey, talk about money, why not make Rogue gain some buff after she open a chest? That'll be quite thematic imo. Though I think buffing her crit rate/damage or reduce energy costs of dash/charge attack according to the number of active enemies may be more useful and balanced.

Just experienced my first crash in the game :( ah well, I believe my coins were saved.

I think it's nice that hat 'loadout' is saved for each character, but it would be nice if our preference between 'armor' or 'default' was saved too! Just a suggestion for the update coming up yonder.
Oh and Kepa are you planning on buffing the rogue and adventurer? I don't expect (or even want) perfect balance as some characters should be more user friendly than others (ie warrior), but both the rogue and adventurer leave something to be desired to make them shine.
Also what's with the adventurers upgrades basically turning him into the warrior lol? With the giant knife, shield and one of the bead upgrades that fires a projectile he essentially becomes the basic warrior.
As I read somewhere "you know a character is underpowered when giving him another characters basic attack makes him instantly better" :p

Nothing on the Paladin yet! I'll probably do more stuff on him when the design is finalized, likely closer to January.

For the default shield, you can just have it up whenever you feel paranoid about taking a hit. It's better than losing health unless you're facing enemies that do weak damage, like dogs.

The stained glass sword does use less energy for its charge attack. Fire sprite isn't supposed to attack, its deal is that it still projects its anti-magic aura while you're moving.

Yeah we did that to make the shield easier to use with iOS controls, so it's super forgiving.

Wow thanks! Yeah it's over a year since the game came out, and it's still selling pretty well.

That's true, she's the only class without some sort of ranged ability. The buff after opening a chest is a really good idea, though probably too late to actually add it unless we got rid of one of her other upgrades. Same with the other ideas.

What was the crash? We're trying to track some down from the last update, which had to upgrade things to 64 bit support. I'll write down the idea for saving armor/default preferences.

There's some stuff we still need to do for Rogue and Adventurer for the next updates. I recall that they were pretty minor, though. Like Adventurer still has a couple of items with bugs that make it not work exactly like they should.

You can change Adventurer into a warrior, but he's still a bit different even with that warrior loadout. Similar, but not a carbon copy.

Thanks for the advice! Btw, I wonder why sometimes multiple charges can be depleted at once, is it due to attacks of high damage, or because they score multiple hits?

About the tamed sprite, I misread your post at #3571, sorry…

The Rogue upgrade, maybe you can replace the dagger toes? Not removing its effect, but make it a built-in passive, like the change you did to warrior's previous potion upgrade. I don't know enemies' HPs, but I assume that some levels (+1-+4?) of dagger toes may not actually reduce the hits required to kill (I can be totally wrong here)? Which makes it a passive that has several levels yet doesn't really profit you at every level. Just saying though.

EDIT: oh, er, any hints for Rogue' Tormentors? They seem strictly inferior to Gianstompers to me. No stun, short dash distance (you may get hit right after passing through enemies), hits less, which make them more risky yet not more rewarding compared with GS. Oh and it lacks the awesome feeling when you launch enemies away into other enemies XD the animation of them are stylish though. Did I miss anything?

Hi Duivs, have you seen the two dash abilities of Adventurer? He can also be Spellsword 2.0 XD In fact he can even stealth with the purple lantern upgrade! So I guess his strength (and more importantly, the FUN to play him) lies in the flexibility to combine different features from the others. I used to think he sucks, but maybe he really doesn't. There are adventurers in the leaderboard, and at some high places. I still suck at him though XD

Add me to the list of people who suck with Adventurer, comrade. :p I've completed the Labyrinth with him only once with a crapton of tries, but made it three times with Rogue and with around 1/4 the number of Adventurer attempts.

Hahaha, I died a lot as Adventurer, too! Mage, Cultist, Spellsword and Rogue are a lot easier IMO. Rogue can be quite a beast against Bosses if she gets the right items.
I just checked the leaderboard and found there's an Adventurer at the position around top 11(EDIT: oh it's the 17th), which is really impressive. I tried to prove Rogue's strength but failed :( maybe you should try it, bro ;)
