This this this. It won't be an IAP, as Kepa has said from the beginning, this is an IAP-free game with a very planned pricing structure. But man do I ever want that Paladin. Especially since you already play as him during the tutorial, so it's like, he's THERE, just "unlock" him already, I'm beggin' ya!
He's sorta there in the tutorial. But not really. Like he has only two upgrades for his weapons period, and no upgrades for his abilities at all. No permanent upgrades either. Also, because he's so strong compared to the other characters, he'd get his own really tough game mode. Then story writing, an ending, etc. Pretty big undertaking. Also need to check my notes as to how you're supposed to unlock him. Before he was going to be crazy impossible to unlock, but I remember promising to make it more attainable. He'd be free of course. After the PC version comes out. The mobile update after that would add him and some other stuff, while raising the price of the game. I think I want the game's price to get up to $9 on iOS, so hopefully we can get in an update before the PC version is out. Otherwise it'd have to jump from $7 to $9.
Yeah I know, I considered all of that after posting. Everything from the character select screen graphic and forward would have to be implemented. All the writing and integrating into the existing structure of the game. Still, it's just such a damn tease to play as him for 3 minutes and then have to wonder about him for such a good stretch of time post-release after really mastering the rest of the characters. I guess I'm just looking for (and I'm sure I speak for more than just myself here) another reason to dive head-first back into the game.
Alright, my interest level is up. I'm not sure if it's from the Gomez Adams pricing scheme or the GOTY award from TA. I know it's unverisal but how does it play on an iPad? Some controls scheme don't translate well to iPad's bigger dimensions.
Not sure yet! Still likely. Mostly I worry about giving the player more boosts in power, making the game easier. With that in mind, I might not bother with the shops idea we were going to do. Maybe we can do some sort of coin scoreboard instead.
@klink you MUST get this.. It's hard as hell but extremely rewarding.. Plays beautifully on my iPad mini.. Joystick and button are invisible so they never obstruct your vision.. Grinding to upgrade your character makes things easier obviously.. If your a badass you could probably get by without all the upgrades though.. Just be prepared to die ##.. One of the few games that has never and will never come off my device
Thanks my friend but I'm good. I'm always happy to support indie developers. It's more of a time issue than anything. Too many quality apps and too little time.
how about a new game mod? like a big room with enemies and chests dropping from the ceiling constantly with, with short breaks for upgrades and stuff, a giant endless arena survival. i know it sounds kinda too big for an update, but maybe you'll do it in a sequel or something.
