Haha yeah, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. That's the thing, you know. This game is meant to be hard, if it wasn't, there would never be the sense of accomplishments that comes with beating a dungeon. I'm actually a bit bummed the catacombs were dropped to 8 levels, though I guess there's always diamond. And you should stick with WS, if you have the time, but thanks for the answer. I'll most likely buy MG when I get bored with wayward. If that ever happens. Oh, and by the way, to follow up with some questions that were raised in this thread, I feel the adventurer is perfectly fine as is, and the cultist is definitely overpowered, but so much fun Edit: @ ryanini: hahaha yeah, that's the one. Most hilarious stuff I've seen lately. Also eager for the update, though there's still plenty of game left for me, which is amazing, considering the fair share of hours I've poured into it.
Man I bought this game last week and absolutely love it. It's very tough but that's what makes it fun for me it keeps me coming back for more.
Thanks for the kind words Warriv, completing the endless dungeon was an amazing experience for me. I had originally planned on getting killed intentionally as soon as I completed 1,000 floors, and the moment when I was surprised to instead be greeted by a message from Rocketcat that I had completed the "endless" dungeon was by far the single most satisfying moment in my 30 years as a gamer. When I put my phone down after that I damn near threw it in the garbage, like "I'm DONE" Please take my advice and don't hesitate another moment with Mage Gauntlet. Mage Gauntlet is the reason why we were all clamouring so hard for the release of Wayward Souls. It's a true predecessor, and if you love WS I can't think of a conceivable way that you wouldn't absolutely love Mage Gauntlet as well. It's like a more finite WS with a deeper story centred on one character (Lexi the fledgling Mage). The sense of humor and the story itself are dripping with such charm, that I haven't played the game in forever, and I've probably just talked myself into giving it another spin. I can't recommend it enough without dipping my toes into total shill territory lol. Congrats on beating the Catacombs! Here's to hoping the update arrives soon and breathes some life into this thread (and more importantly, the game)!
Heh, I'll certainly buy it now. I'm also curious about the story, I mean, I know what lured all those adventurers to the tower, but what's this Lexi doing there, then? Nevermind, I'll check it out. I must say I really love the way the story is told here, those ghost scenes slowly shedding light on the events that transpired, and also acting as a break from all the action. Hideo Kojima would be proud Your phone? That's impressive, don't know why, I had assumed you were playing on an ipad. It must've been quite a feeling, and you look quite cool, on top of that leaderboard. Maybe I'll challenge you, one day! Not anytime soon, though, as I'm now struggling with the labyrinth. Got to 12th floor so far, with plenty of health, but got a crazy floor with all kinds of crazy combinations of monsters, that just slowly, but steadily, brought me down. Hah, got to love this game By the way, there's one question that keeps bothering me, and I can't figure it out. Does each character have specific rooms attached to them? I don't know if I'm making myself clear, but I keep finding the same places with the same chars, like mini dungeons, and story chunks. If I'm with the spellsword, my most played, I'll never see anything new anymore. I'll see new stuff with other, least played heroes. Is that by design, or am I just unlucky?
Just wait until you see the interactions between Lexi and Whitebeard in MG then, if you liked WS' cutscenes you'll be delighted by Mage Gauntlets. The story is much richer due to the fact that it's all centered around one character instead of 6 (and hopefully 7 soon!) Well...I was playing on an iPhone 6 Plus...it's basically like playing on an iPad! The only parts of the game tailored specifically to each character in a playthrough are the story cutscenes between floors/after bosses and the cutscene-esque encounters that occur on some floors. For example when Blythe the Warrior runs into his zombie-like brother on floor 10 of the Catacombs, you'll only encounter that cutscene when using the Warrior. Anything else pertaining to the structure and order of the rooms/floors, the enemies you encounter etc, will all be just as random no matter which character you're using. Hope this answers your question clearly
Damn, Safari ate my post. Here we go again. Thank you for the answer. You were perfectly clear. Obviously, as it always goes with these things, today I came across some new events with my spellsword. I'm definitely getting MG, I just haven't yet because I'm skeptical about those two buttons. Swiping feels so natural, especially if you're dashing. But it is a minor thing, and I'm sure I'll get over it quickly. I do enjoy WS's writing style, so I guess if MG has more of it, the game just can't go wrong. Also can't wait for the update, I'm eager to see what they do with the paladin and how his story pans out. However, it seems the update will only be released after the PC port, which won't come out before Death Road to Canada. So, probably around the summer, maybe later? Of course, now I'm "casually" checking how that game turns out, and I must say it is looking amazing. Hope they do a Mac or ios port.
They've been working on death road to canada for quite a while, now. There's a thread for that game here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=200138 That's outdated, though. They're also working on another game, named "dad by the sword", but there's no thread about it, probably because it's being made for the PC. Check their Facebook page for more info. Edit: oh my, another endless champion! Congrats ryanini!
That's crazy. I'm still struggling in the labyrinth. Currently on floor 14. Heh, looks ridiculous compared to you two. But I still haven't got any of the gifts, nor have I fully upgraded my spellsword. I'm currently hoarding gold to buy everything in one go By the way, does anyone know how much it takes to do just that? Edit: got killed on the 18th floor. Damn. I was ambushed, and I still panic a lot in those situations, and make a lot of wrong decisions.
I was gonna check to see who you used etc, but it isn't showing up in Game Centre or in the in-game Endless leaderboard
What a pain :/ Hopefully the score is saved to your device and maybe will upload if you turn GC off and then back on again?
I don't have gc... Idk why. My friend said he saw one of my scores on the leader bored though? Maybe he thought that the person was me?
