It is a neat idea but when you think about it, yeah it seems a little pointless. I'd say put that effort into improving the endless mode a bit. It was mentioned that you guys will decrease the health as you progress in floors, but when will it stop decreasing? Half way? But see, I'd say the problem is more on the "people know the game" side rather than endurance side. People who've reached the endless dungeon are pretty darn good at the game, and if you're good at the game you know the enemies, and once you know the enemies health is not a problem. You need to find another way to challenge these skilled players as they progress. New/old boss fights every x floors? Increase the chance of running into a rare difficult room the further you go? No potions? Less and less health regen? Mobs do a bit more damage every 5 floors (stops at 100% more damage)? Idk, I'm just throwing ideas out there. But long story short, i encourage you guys to find a way to eventually overwhelm the player while he progresses in the endless dungeon.
That's what I hate about many "endless" things. They stop being "endless" and turn impossible. The dungeon is already very hard. They are making health regen decrease, until to zero. They are hopefully leaving potions so there's a chance for people who aren't superhuman-skilled to compete. It really doesn't need to get harder.
I'd say thats the point of endless though, eventually making the game really hard/challenging. COD Zombies, Battleheart Legacy, Halo's Fire Fight, Jetpack Joyride, etc. I dunno. At the game's current state it feels more like a job to reach the highest floor you can rather than a challenge.
But it will already be a really hard challenge with the health decreasing. I seriously hope potions stay. I don't like it when endless things get so impossibly hard it just becomes luck if you manage to dodge things slightly more, with no health at all, to barely get further than last time. I can't get better than that... It becomes pointless.
Agree with this. Sometimes you will get your ass kicked on one floor and lose most of your health, and you depend on that 40% or so next-floor max health boost to carry you through to eventually recover. Dropping it altogether at some point means that you'll encounter situations that, unless you find a health potion before you take another 10% damage, you'll die. And frankly, if you can find a potion and survive that much further in those situations, that would make for a thrilling playthrough.
We're adding the quick-play mode after all. It won't have a scoreboard for time or anything, though. It's just for people that want to play a fast but really difficult session of the game. What we might do for this mode is do NIGHTMARE versions of the bosses. That could be fun. Make it an achievement to survive. For now, going for health regen eventually shutting off. 1 less health every 10 floors. So around floor 150, no more health regen. For NOW, not doing anything to health potions. So they will eventually become your only source of health. If Endless is still too easy/boring after that, I'll make the potions get rarer over time, too. That'd be in the PC update though, this next update is the last content update before then. Oh that's really weird, I've never even seen that before. It's the pedestal from Mage Gauntlet, but shouldn't even be in this game heh. The WS chest wouldn't fit on it due to different centering of the art.
I think the quick play sounds good, absolutely LOVE the idea of harder bosses. The only boss that posed any challenge for me was the labyrinth with mage. I mostly just play endless modes on things to get the rewards (100+ floors hat, don't want to spoil), I think a boss rush would be more fun. Yeah I found that weird pedestal thing once, I thought it looked handmade like some other hat dungeons, but with no hat. But seeing the pedestal from MG was kinda cool.
Awesome! Did you guys find what was causing the intro level glitch? It looks like I'm the only person with this issue. Am I going to have to wait for the iCloud update and reinstall it?
I think it may have something to do with you force quitting often? Not sure though, that's just my guess.
@Kepa Are there still plans to bring up equipment information when you touch them in the Pause/Inventory screen?
Flume foremen throw dynamite, so it probably exploded just as the boss died?either way that really sucks
Any possibility of making Adventurer slightly faster? I think that'd make him a stronger character without overdoing it.
I would like to see the Endless mode in different difficulty types (Idk... easy, normal, hardcore). Also, you could increase the difficult on Endless Mode adding more hordes of enemies on the same room each floor. Sorry for the poor English, isn't my main lenguage.
Yes, for PC version and likely the PC update. Whoa, first time I've seen that. No plans to. He's as fast as everyone else already. The only character that gets faster is the Rogue, and that's from equipment upgrades.
Am I just stupid? I can't find the button for endless mode. Do I have to clear all the other levels first?
