The dialogues were too repetitive before. They were altered just for more variety between the different characters. He'll become less powerful when he's fully playable, but he'll still be a stronger altered warrior I think. Pretty much ok with Paladin being the strongest character. You can build her for decent AOE. Or in a pinch you can always rely on blind/stealth and attempt to backstab as many as possible with one attack. Also, I really think Cultist works out in most situations just due to her ranged throw.
The fact that her ranged throw reaches the edge of the room is a huge strength for her. I can often lure monsters out into a more advantageous arena to fight in, and in small groups. I'm amazed that more people don't realize how OP she is, she has the attributes of several characters combined into one, and hardly anyone seems to notice#. I feel like I'm cheating when I play as her!
Finally finished Diamond for the first time, as Mage. That was intense. What a fantastic, challenging game... bravo Rocketcat guys! Especially love all the atmosphere + story stuff. ("Let There Be Hats" fits the cutscenes so well!) If you add Diamond achievements, will they unlock retroactively? Hope so... that was brutal as Mage, don't especially want to do it again on iOS, ha.
Rogue idea(inspired by Ashflow's):how about reducing the energy cost of dashing according to the enemy number?Maybe cost of charge attack also,I'm not sure. Dashing through all those mob and fooling them around seems exciting, and still doesn't change her feature too much,IMO But one big problem is that you may still need some talents to perform it well. People like me may benefit less from this buff XD Oh,maybe the swipe commands can also be modified a bit for casual players like me? Upswipe:same as now Downswipe:turn about at the dashing destination automatically, for easier backstab I guess it sounds a bit stupid, but sometimes I manually turn about too early that I turned before the dashing ends,so I dashed through the enemy, and then dashed back,in one single dash... then of course it's I who became the one being backstabed, technically. I guess dashing like this will truly confuse enemies XD
Man. Just wanna take a sec and reinforce that this game is too DARK, and the brightness needs more than just a minor adjustment. It's a reasonably bright morning, and even with my screen brightness cranked all the way up, it's near unplayably dark. It needs a major tweaking, not just a little 5-10% tweak, I mean like 50-60% in the darker areas.
I agree, this problem has come up multiple times for me. I have to just pause the game and wait till I'm in a better lit area
It *should* but not sure, it's always dicey due to Gamecenter. We're doing the "dash through to fool them" one because we already have that built into the game. A "backstab closest target" sounds like a good idea, not sure how that would work if you did NOT want to backstab, though. Like if you were between two targets after dashing. When making the game I wanted a kind of "double direction" attack for this situation, but we never got around to this. I'll pass this on to Brandon. I can't remember if the adjustments were done already in the current release version, though. Sure. It's in the next update. Not sure when the next update is, it always takes longer than we think it will.
Hey Kepa, this is kinda off topic, but I saw that you were one of the play testers of The Nightmare Cooperative. And that you're #1 on the Global Leaderboards, I was wondering if you have any expert tips on how to play The Nightmare Cooperative strategically?
Haha sure A lot of it is hard to say because I'm just innately pretty good at that sort of game. Mostly from playing traditional roguelikes forever. Some tips off top of head though: - You don't have to keep all your people on the field. I like making about half of them go downstairs, after grabbing as much of the potions as I can. - Warrior's my favorite character. Mage and archer seem good too. Followed by Barbarian and Priest, those are my choices in rough order. - Don't be afraid to murder one of your own characters. Note that if you have a full party, you can't get reinforcements. A lot of the time I prefer to have 3 people for this reason, instead of 4. - Take your time and really judge whether or not taking damage/losing a teammate is worth it. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. You'll generally have to be aggressive to get really high scores, but you don't want to get in a situation where the next level completely kills you. That's all I can think of for now.
Something strange happened in WS today. I was trying to get through the mines for the umpeenth time with my Mage, and today when I started the fifth floor I found a staircase right away a bit off the beaten path! Naturally curious, knowing it was the boss level, I took it and it immediately went to the cutscene saying I survived. I didn't have to fight Humphrey Did I find a secret, or was it a weird pity glitch?
Nope. Nothing behind it, either. Kind of cool if you could, though. Just a weird glitch. It's so rare that I've never even seen it happen, personally.
Thanks Kepa, I like your tactic of keeping 3 characters most of the time so that you can get some backup later, and the sacrifice tactic seems very useful to lure some enemies away. Welp, gonna go back and do some tactical dungeon crawling, thanks!
Thanks for your reply,Kepa! Those were just my random thoughts,in fact I think Renee is much playable than v1.0 already. Automatically backstabbing closest enemy sounds cool, but may causes some confusion when you are surrounded by many of them, for you can't always tell which one is the closest. Maybe the current effect is just the simplest and best, though I still haven't beaten the gold dungeon ;p I encountered some bug yesterday while using Abbie, with fire staff, not sure if anyone reported it before. I can't recall when it began, but when I noticed it, some layers of the graphics seemed missing. I don't know how to express it precisely(my English is not very good): all the flame disappeared, only the core of all fireballs remained. All shadow were gone. It seemed that only the basic graphic remained, while all other light and shadow were gone. Sorry that I didn't try another run to see if it continues. After I restarted WS, everything was normal again.
