He'll have weaker versions of his opening moves I think, with one of each upgrade devoted to restoring/surpassing the tutorial moves. I think it'll be pretty similar to Wayward Souls except for all the differences needed to make it a game about backtracking/exploration/Zelda items. Up to Brandon really. I'm not making it. Also I guess "a new kind of game" would be something that wasn't a top down action-adventure game? Like Zelda 2? No, it'll still be top down.
So, what's the news about the archer character, is it defiantly going to happen, or is it a longshot? I hope it does happen!
Hi there ! I encountered a bug in the labyrinth, and thought I would report it ! I pulled some of the mobs out of the room before going in for the clean, and this little guy was invisible outside ! He revealed himself, but cannot be killed and the door won't open I guess I'll restart the run, but it might be nice to avoid this kind of situation again !
This is not a bug at all, in fact it's a crucial part of my playing strategy. I will often fire a projectile to grab the attention of the monsters, then when they come after me, I run past them and "lock them out" (your bug). Then when you have cleared all the enemies in the room, the door opens again, and the enemies you locked out are allowed back in. This can make a full room far easier to deal with, I hope you didn't restart your whole run over it.
You say that the paladin will be worse to start with than he is in the toturial. But isn't he meant to be OP? And the paladin in toturial is not OP, he is just a warrior with a little better abilities.
I just reinstalled to try the new update, thankfully my save transferred without any problems, did you guys reduce the install size? It's taking no where near the amount of space it did before. Look forward to trying the game again.
I often do it aswell ! But the fact that this guy was invis makes apparently the door permanently closed (the rest of the ennemies are dead). I didn't exit the run yet, so if you have a solution, I'll gladly take it Else, it's not a big deal, I was only on floor 9 !
Do you have a picture of the map? The room should open if the only living enemy is outside the room... Don't think so. "A little better abilities" includes damaging and stunning everything around him in a wide radius. This is absurdly powerful compared to any other ability in the game. Starting off with that powerful downswipe would mean there wouldn't be much room for him to grow with forge upgrades. We might even have to do other things like reduce the maximum amount of downswipe ammo you can get, so he doesn't reduce the difficulty to a joke. The upswipe isn't anything special though.
True, downswipe is super OP, but apart from that, will he just be a warrior with other and better abilities and upgrades?
Sure, but that's kind of reductionist. Not really sure what the alternative would be, though, or what you're looking for there. He's a 2handed character with stronger abilities/upgrades than the warrior, with more of a magical focus and great AOE stunning capabilities. Forge Upgrades planned off top of head: Weapons: The two tutorial weapons, a version of the Stained Glass Sword (probably ended up being my favorite weapon in the game), a heavy damage slow/short scepter that increases upswipe drops, and a short flaming torch that applies damage over time in addition to its attacks. Downswipe: Bigger radius sunburst (becoming bigger than the tutorial version), sunburst+haste buff, smaller radius sunburst+double damage on next hit, burning/magic nullify+slowing halo, holy shield (kind of like a combination of the best of the mirror and thorned shields) Upswipe: High damage/up to 4 targets shot, 3 way spread shot, +stunning version, point blank attack that's like a much stronger version of the mage push with lingering burning damage, and a flash of light that's a lot like the cultist blind.
Maybe it's just because I'm more used to close ranged characters in pretty much every game I've played of any genre, but I just can't stand the mage. It's like a higher difficulty mode or something like that
Same here. I think it's because the low health makes it so one small room filled with a lot of enemies can ruin your run
the upgrades Is it just me or are the upgrades kind of minuscule? My Spellsword is almost completely upgraded, yet I still find it impossible to beat CatacombsÂ… This game is turning from fun to frustrating.
They aren't as big as usual games with RPG elements have, but they defitinitely make a difference. Some more than others, like health up per floor. There's a noticeable difference between having something fully upgraded and not at all. But you need to practice your skills too. And some luck, maybe.
