I hear it should, but I'm not 100% sure. Haven't gotten a testing build personally. Not doing much with the Wayward Souls team as they work on it for now, not until update 3 anyway. My design work was done awhile ago, including the upcoming new modes and balance changes. Right now for the second update (and part of the third) it's mostly programming catching up. CORRECTION: You'll have to beat Labyrinth again, sorry. Also looks like it'll be out tomorrow.
Sweet, I've beaten lab with 4 characters and not really tried with the other two. My opinions on class balance Warrior - Well balanced, the only one thing I don't like is the warrior's slow running speed. (not really a problem) Mage - I don't get how people beat lab and say this is a great class, maybe I'm just super bad. I think the low health makes it so if there's one terrible room, you will probably die. That's what always happens, I make it into levels 14-20 (boss rush) and get killed, usually by a huge mob of mines or tower enemies. (apparently just me) Rogue - I love rogue, imho the 3rd best char. High health, second best dps, dash through enemies Adventurer - Too dependant on upgrades, but if you get good upgrades, you're set Spellsword - My favorite class, and 2nd best in my opinion Cultist - Still undefeated with cultist in every dungeon except tower (and that was a failed amaranth fight when I wasn't really paying attention). Super strong, without being too op. You really have to concentrate and play well, but when you do, good things happen
Add a Archer or other cool characters please... It's nice to have a new map with grassland and some animal enemy. Great game!
It depends on whether advancement or overcoming ridiculous wait-times in the game is reliant on iap. If so, I'm deleting it. However, games with bonus stuff or "get it now instead of grinding" iap I don't mind so much, particularly if the game is fun to play and that experience isn't held back by avoiding iap. There are also some rare games that I'm willing to plunk down extra cash for just because I want to support the developers whose game I enjoy so much. Many of my family members play free games (like Candy Crush), but never spend a cent on any of the iap. The attitude I have seen is that they'll never pay ANYTHING for games on the mobile platform. But then they never play games on bigger platforms either...
For Adventurer the amulet charge and damage buff has helped quite a lot. But it may be that the lantern is a little too powerful. If I have six charges I can clear rooms only with it sometimes. Maybe it should be dropped to 4 charges but buffed in another way? Also I wish Ovar's Shield and Giant's Knife were just a little bit superior to the warrior's basic shield and sword in some way or another (they aren't already are they?).
I think Giant's Knife might have longer reach than the warrior's blade, actually, and possibly higher crit damage. But also possibly lower standard damage (since the Giant's Knife upgrade doesn't affect normal damage, as far as I can recall, and the Adventurer has slightly lower standard damage than the Warrior by default. Uhm, as far as my recollection goes. Lots of maybes in there ).
Few things after hotfix. Big morning star guys timing is off again, happened more than once so it seems it's there again. Elite (grey) shield knights' shield seems to be unbreakable with Warr' standard sword charged attack, now. Mage's Salamander staff seems to make particle effects go nuts (disappear). It's kinda bad cause it affects enemy spells as well, making them almost invisible. I've seen this happen only with Salamander and in Lab, don't know if it's a dungeon problem or a forge upgrade problem. Hope i can manage Lab again and get my shiny!
All of those were happening before the fix, too. I have no idea how the Duskguards' shields are supposed to work -- sometimes a power attack will instantly break them, and sometimes they won't break at all no matter how many times I hit them. The last issue tends to trigger when there are a lot of effects on screen at once. If you're using Salamander's Breath (which is particularly heavy on particle effects) in the Labyrinth (which tends to have a lot of enemies on screen at once, with varying effects), this happens a lot, which is kind of frustrating. It's pretty easy to fix by closing and reopening the game, though.
Some hats from other games rocketcat have made, but you can get them in chests, and I've already got them all. I'd say that the biggest bonus for getting the game early is the reduced price
Yup, shutting the app seems to work, but on my last run it happened every two minutes. It's not a big deal, more of a nuisance. I actually thought the big morning star guys (sry i really can't remember the names) timing was fixed with the previous update, while now it happens like in vanilla. The shield thing happened to me only once, tbh, but i thought it would be a good idea reporting it. Damn, i just died in an idiotic way on 19 floor at the boss. With 3 Sands. This'll teach me to back off from her a little. I was low on health, though.
So I'm making a renewed effort on the Catacombs and wanted some opinions.... Who is the best to use? I know the Warrior is the "strongest" but I feel in this stage is best to have the dash abilities of the Rogue or Spellsword to make a quick get away. The Mages ranged attack is also good, but she is just so fragile. Who is the best to go with here?
Got the hotfix, didn't automatically get my 4 badges, but already got a shiny new diamond badge for my cultist
Working my way back to the 20th floor right now. One thing to point out, (although not sure if it's an issue with the game or I'm just doing something wrong), the sections where there are several jets of flames shooting from the wall, and you have to time walking between them to not get burnt, seems to burn me on every step, every time. I've experimented with walking earlier and later to avoid the flames, and I'm always up against the wall at the furthest point. I've never once taken a step between them without getting burnt. When I see a section like that I just accept that I'm taking 4-5 hits, or using a bunch of my abilities, but they seem impossible to dodge.
Yeah those are weird. Don't pay attention to the flames, they're not really a good indicator of when it's safe. Watch the statues, when they're red don't go and when they're black it's safe
