If you have a laptop, move it near your router if you can. It's the only way to get Reflector functioning properly.
Don't worry about the knights the Baron spawns, he will usually kill them himself while you run around avoiding his hits. When he disappears into the air, prepare to dodge when he lands, because he will strike right away. After dodging his hit, strike him from behind ONLY. Never strike him standing in front of him, as he'll swing back at you very quickly, and do more damage than you did to him. If you're positioned anywhere other than behind him after he attacks, back off and wait for the next charge. Each time you dodge his attacks, strike him from behind 2-3 times, and then get out of the way, create some distance and prepare for his next charge. If you can dodge him 5 or 6 times and strike him from behind after each time, you shouldn't have too much trouble with him.
Tactics are highly variable on who your character is. For example, if you are a rogue and you save up a poison and a stealth purple drank (shadowtwist elixir? gives you stealth for 10s) you can just wait for baron to appear from his pedestal thing, stealth and poison up, and backstab him to death before he can summon his minions. Sidenote, does anyone know what happened to the shrines we were supposed to see in dungeons? I thought we were going to see them in all levels, haven't seen one since i stopped playing the first level.
There's a glitch, shrines aren't appearing. Rocketcat is going to fix this in a later update and make it so the buffs carry on from floor to floor. I also remember something about how if you get all three buffs at once, it gives a stronger buff?
Oh jeez this game, man. It's beautiful! I don't know if the devs read this thread but hey, hat's off to you guys! I haven't enjoyed a game as much as this since Kind of Dragon Pass!
I think 219? I'll do a quick count. EDIT: 219 hats including the secret gnomey hat, 220 if you count hatless
Yeah, that's the same number I counted. There's a full list here: http://wayward-souls.wikia.com/wiki/Hats Hat Connoisseur unlocks at 200 hats, not counting None (hatless).
We do. King of Dragon Pass was pretty great. Now that the update's been out for awhile, what does everyone think of the new class balance? Especially the changes of Mage, Warrior, Adventurer, and Rogue? Specific question: How are the Warrior shields now, compared against each other? Thinking of buffing some maybe, but not sure.
The Rogue's upgraded damage and lowered power attack cost are incredibly useful, and it actually wasn't too difficult to beat Diamond with her. I don't know how hard it would have been without those changes, but it sounded pretty bad. The Mage was really good to begin with, but the max health upgrade certainly didn't hurt, and the staff changes make them a lot more attractive as upgrades (though I still prefer Salamander's Breath, especially with its fixed level II version). I barely played as the Warrior or Adventurer to begin with, so I can't really comment on them. The Warrior's new Gift seems pretty useless (it might take one fewer hit to kill an enemy, depending on their max health, if you get hit first), but maybe it's been helpful? It's really hard to tell.
The Rogue's changes were the most-needed, for sure. She doesnt feel totally underpowered against the other classes now, but she's still kind of the "weak Cultist" in my book, much in the way the Adventurer feels a bit like the "weak Warrior" to me. Haven't used the Mage enough post-update to make an informed comment about her. I use the Warrior the most, and I think the only buff I'd add to his shields is to increase the maximum number of shields you can carry at once, increasing each type by maybe 2 shields. Also, the more fragile shields could take a little more damage, as they seem to be done after one hit from a weak enemy. Even allowing for one more hit for when you're in the middle of a melee with a roomful of monsters would be helpful. A suggestion I have that I think would be a very simple tweak is to never have the same 2 emberforges in a row. For example: the only weapon upgrade that I actually consider an "upgrade" for the Warrior is the slower but more powerful battleaxe. The other weapons (spinning charge sword and stationary power attack that deflects projectiles sword) feel like huge downgrades to me. It's very frustrating holding out for a battleaxe, and then to come across 3 emberforges in a row that only have the 2 "downgrade" swords as available forges. If it were different every time, at least you'd know the forge you're holding out for is coming.
Love the rogue changes, perfectly balanced, took me 3 tries on labyrinth, same as with spellsword (who is my favorite and the class I devote the much time to). Haven't tried that much on mage, but health makes it a lot better. Warrior swords are really good now, really like stained glass sword low energy cost. It's now one of my favorite upgrades. Adventurer doesn't feel that much different, but I've only played a few games. Overall, great balance changes, better new dungeon, credits level that you can get TUTORIAL the paladin into, amazing update
I agree. I'd rather there only be one slow sword upgrade. I'd much rather have a neutral sword upgrade that gives increased health regen, better drop rates for shields/axes, or even higher crit chance than any of the available choices. The rat blade's shorter range doesn't help, and I feel like the increased power of the slower weapons is more than cancelled out for not allowing you to get as many hits in, and giving you a slower recoil time before a second swing, which makes it much harder to get more than one swing off at once.
Finally beat the Labyrinth for the first time with the Warrior! Thank God there's nobody else is in the house, I'm surprised the neighbours didn't come by to see what all the celebrating was about. Touchdown dancing, waltzing with my dogs, banging pots and pans, you name it. Probably one of the greatest satisfactions I've felt from a game in roughly 30 years as a gamer. A very special thanks to JackMule and Ryanini01 for their tips and strategies, probably would have taken me many more attempts without their help. The best part is, I feel like I've only completed 1/6th of the game, and am already eager to jump back into it with a different character. Thanks again to Kepa, Jeremy and Brandon for making such a great game, you've truly created something special.
Just a note on the pricing system, I do think its a good idea and its logical (I've already purchased it and its cool getting free content just because I bought it early), but at the same time its a bit odd. I dont think its a good sell for the game. Maybe keep the price the same and make every content update cost $0.99? But people who already have the game can get it for free? Just my opinion. I think there will be a larger drop on the sales than there should be.
Will cloud saves be added in the next update? I really want to use my save (Which I'm quite far into) on my new device and not have to start all over again, so how far is it until this happens? Great game btw.
