We've all tried logging out of AppStore/iTunes.
It doesn't fix the issue, and neither does going to the purchased section.
There, it just says "Open" instead of update.

The strange thing is, the app info describes the update info for the latest update, it just won't let us update the app.

I've decided to try and use iFunbox to back up my save files, then delete the game before restoring my progress.
Does anyone know for sure which files I need to backup?

if you backup the library and documents folders, that should do the trick.

    cheers.

Okay, I did a search in this thread, as I remembered that someone had given a guide to backup and restore save files and progress for the game.
This is what I came up with:

I did what Laslo_kovacs said, although I used iFunbox instead of iExplorer.

    I backed up the file.
Deleted Wayward Souls from my iPad.
    Installed the game again.
Copied the file back to the iPad, and presto.
    It works!

This was done with great trepidation. This is one game where you really, really don't want to lose your progress.
    Thankfully it worked a treat.
I've got the update installed, and all my progress is still there.

    Thank you Laslo!!

I don't know why but I'm not seeing any update. It only shows in the description.

I finally lost my patience and decided to use iTunes to update the app.

It was actually relatively painless. I plugged in my iPhone, found Wayward Souls on the iTunes store, downloaded it, and then dragged the app onto my iPhone and hit 'Apply'.

Now to beat that secret credits level :D

Noooooooooooo!!!! I just lost all my progress by updating the game, I didn't know it was gonna do that.... Holy crap, how can I get everything back? I spent countless hours getting all those things, this is super depressing

Restore your phone to your previous backup if you have iCloud daily backup setup and then use the technique described on the previous page (pg 289) in this thread using iExplorer to find the Wayward plist (save) file.

If you backup your iOS device to your comp, you don't even need to restore your phone, you could directly access the backup with iExplorer and find the plist file and then just copy it into the current Wayward Souls Folder

Still no update available here (US App Store). It's odd because it shows the updated notes in the description, but there is still no option to update.

I won't be uninstalling or anything like that, but I would like to know if the developer will be pushing the update through again or not?

    Thanks.

    Does that work?

I think everyone needs to contact Apple about this. It's not on our end, and we can't fix their store for them.

Other that that, I've heard that people have had luck installing it through iTunes.

That's what I did. Just download the game onto iTunes on the computer, then sync with your iDevice, then tell it to update Wayward Souls. Worked like a charm.
