i was expecting a very long sync as well downloading all new apps from iPad to iTunes, but like it said it only took roughly a minute. Oh well, was hoping it could help you guys here, as i know how it feels when something is slightly out of reach.
Hi, Thanks heaps for this tip! Worked as a charm for me even though I have never synched apps via iTunes before and was a little afraid to wipe my save data. But everything's fine and I finally have the updated version. Haven't had this kind of update trouble before...
Been trying out the new shields in my playhroughs today. Despite the durability nerf I'm finding the adjustments you made make each shield more interesting. Nice work guys!
Kepa—Thanks again for the game. One thing I've noticed (both pre/post update) is that the Warrior's shields become really scarce after about the 3rd or 4th floor of the Gold dungeon. Wasn't sure if this was intentional or not; I'd vote for returning the max shield numbers to pre-update settings but keeping the durability changes/nerfs. I haven't found the game to be easier now. Still haven't beaten Gold. Speaking of which, are you still considering an alternate Cultist unlock based on deaths or something? I will not stop until I beat Gold but I'm itching to try the Cultist, especially since everyone else is fully upgraded. Otherwise, great work as always. Keep rocking.
I can verify this bug. Happened to me at around Floor ~10-11 of the Diamond Dungeon, and made the run much harder than it should have... Using Mage, playing on an iPad 3. It looked like most projectiles lost their particle effects. e.g. Gelid Embrace only shows the circle at the centre, without any of the swirling particles, enemy projectiles shows up as a small ball without sparklies, etc.
This is what the glitch appears like for the projectiles that don't completely turn invisible. Happened to me on floor 1. EDIT: Just found a solution to this. Kill the app and open it up. Your progress should be intact and the projectiles will be back to normal.
The update is right there, and I can't even have it without deleting the game first. I, a grown man in my 30's, want to cry right now.
Durability and max shields are the same thing. Unless you meant shields per ammo pickup, though that's tied to max number too. It's simply a third, rounding down. For Update 2 I think we can do unlocks for 50/100/200 deaths for the Adventurer/Spellsword/Cultist. That's a bug.
Sorry, I meant the max number of shields that can be carried in inventory at once. The normal shield used to be 9 and is now 6, I think. Unless I'm completely mixed up.
Is it just a bug with the emblem appearing, or is it a bug where the game thinks I didn't beat the dungeon?
I didn't intend to sound unappreciative, I'm sorry if I did. I was just venting my dislike for iTunes and it's unintuitive sync system. Every time I've tried to sync, just to get some data for a specific app to or from my PC, iTunes insist I sync everything, and since I use my iPad to record music on, in addition to huge games, we're talking +80 GB to sync. It takes forever... Maybe you guys are using Mac's? On my PC it's a horrible experience...
Most of the dungeon wasn't too bad once I had the proper setup, but that boss still gave me a run for my money.
Is this set in stone? I'm conflicted. I just made it past the first dungeon with the rogue (and have done so previously with the warrior, but I much prefer the rogue, difficulty notwithstanding), but have yet to even unlock the Spellsword. I am really anxious to try the other characters, and it has indeed been just a tad frustrating not to get to play with all classes after looking forward to them for so long. And on several occasions, I've off-handedly, casually cursed the difficulty curve of the game for locking me out of those classes. But at the same time, unlocking the other classes through dying alone feels just... cheap. After investing into the game and struggling (though admittedly not for long) to make the other characters available, I might even want an option to turn off death unlocks. So, yeah, strangely conflicted Perhaps another unlock principle instead, something not quite as challenging as conquering dungeons, but not something that rewards lack of skill, something as incremental as dying over and over again?
Again, sorry to have to say this, as I know people love this game but not only did it come with a bug on ipad controls, but now after waiting a long time for a fix, for some reason it does not give me the option to update it.... So frustrated, I wish I didn't buy this game, really.
Type in Wayward Souls on the app store from your idevice. Where it normally says "buy" the label should read "update."
Thanks, I had tried that, and tried again just now. Still just says "open" and not update. So no update option for me... I don't get it. I have a lot of apps and games, and never had this kind of problem
