And yet lots of games use it very effectively to implement cross device syncing.

Take a look at any recent Foursaken Media title. They use iCloud to great effect, and many of us have *never* had any problems (indeed, the threads of Bug Heroes 2, Heroes & Castles, Block Fortress and BF: War, etc, have few, if any, posts about iCloud issues).

From a developer's perspective, the truth is probably something along the lines that iCloud CAN suck, occasionally or under unusual circumstances, and when it does, there often seems to be no way to resolve the issues. But generally, it works well (and sometimes flawlessly), and is easy to implement.

loving the slated ideas for future updates, just listing a bug i dont remember reading about in this thread. recieving any alert (call, txt, alarm, etc) while playing the game with sound causes all sound to cease until completely closing the game and restarting. using i4s with ios7.

Finally I have beaten the gold dungeon with the warrior after many many tries. Damn, this game is good! Then I played the cultist with 0 upgrades and 0 forge upgrade and beaten Humphrey at my first try! Wow great day for me! Waiting for the update ( and the Paladin)

    1. Really thinking about this yeah. Just not sure where to put it yet. Under them? Over them? Top of the screen?

    2. Yeah. We've started doing this in the first update, for some classes. We'll start doing this for more of them as necessary.

    3. NO. Though as Ashflow pointed out, they get stronger in the first update.

If you get hit, +1/2/3/4/5 damage gets added to your next attack. With the Gift giving everyone +5 damage on their next attack if hit. For reference, sword attacks are 10 damage and dagger slashes are 5.

Crit bonus one will probably stay as-is forever, since it adds a hefty crit bonus to a class that already can get a huge amount of crit. I like the Twins a lot already though, since the II version ends up being really energy efficient. The close-up slash is interesting in some situations and I thought it reflected projectiles too, but can take a look into that. The stun dagger was hard to balance.. and I think it's on a dagger that also has a lot of anti-caster crit bonus.

These are all good discussions/suggestions though. I think I'll do another pass on everyone's upgrades in the second update. Didn't touch Cultist in the first update, though.

Warrior sword hopefully gets more enticing in the first update. Shields may be more interesting of a choice now that you get less of a maximum cap. Didn't take a look at adventurer stuns or cultist daggers, waiting until the next update so I'm not moving too much stuff around at once.

    Thanks for the video!

Yeah we know about this bug. Didn't look into it yet though.

I forgot! It's probably similar to what files you need to copy over for Mage Gauntlet. Forgot what those were exactly too.

    Wayward>Library>Preferences>Wayward.plist

Just paste it over the fresh install.

Glancing at the .plist file, very tempting to just add & unlock the Cultist...but nah, I'm close and have had a break for a couple weeks.

Yeah, the Adventurer doesn't seem popular, but I'll stick up for him, because I find he's my favorite character to play. In my opinion, the torches are underrated- they are very effective in rooms where there are lots of weak shooters, like visios and evil tomes, allowing you to dispatch them quickly and then concentrate on the stronger melee enemies.

The upswipe attacks are useful as well because most of them stun or slow, and the stun effect is fairly long vis-a-vis the other characters, and is effective on larger enemies, even temerators. This way, you can stun a problem enemy while you clear out the room of the lesser enemies.

Finally, the forge upgrades are above average in that they all seem useful without major setbacks, except perhaps the level I sunburst is a little underpowered, and one of the swords doesn't break shields (for now).

Of course, your mileage may vary but for me, the Adventurer has strengths that complement my play, and help with my weaknesses.

I find the Cultist ink upgrades are overall the strongest set of upgrades for a character. The orange bottle is awesome, on level II it might be the best upgrade I've encountered (though I haven't gotten level II on every upgrade yet). The green and black upgrades are pretty useful, the green has similar properties to the Adventurer's torch, and the black is wicked fast. The level II variations of these I've gotten as well, and they are very powerful.

The only ink upgrade I don't like is the pink one, but even that upgrade is more useful than many.

Out of the knives, I understand why you are underwhelmed, but I do think the Twins are a nice one. The reason for me is that for many enemies they work as a one-shot kill. I don't mind the energy cost because energy isn't used for anything else for the Cultist and it's still faster than firing two shots of the conventional knife. Generally, I use it to take out one enemy as I'm closing in, but I don't charge attack after that. I got the level II twins once but found it underwhelming.

I recently beat the Gold dungeon with my two remaining characters, the Mage and the Rogue.

The mage run I ended up with level II earth robe, the silver eye staff, and the fire spellbook. It was a good set of forge upgrades- I find that I do much better with some upgrades than others. All in all it was a smooth run, and I ended up with two hourglasses right before meeting the boss. I was expecting I'd have some sort of ranged battle but just went up close and unloaded like any other character in the same situation.

For the rogue, it was a white knuckle experience the whole time. I don't think I had more than 1/2 health any level above say, 3 or so. For upgrades I had level II of the gnashers, the giant stomper boots, and the mirage blade. I think the increased criticals from the gnashers played a role in going deep, it seemed like I was defeating enemies at a faster clip than otherwise is the case. I also got lucky with items, ending up again with two hourglasses at the boss fight, which were absolutely necessary due to my low health once I got there.

For those who haven't cleared the dungeon yet, you can do this. It takes practice, planning, and some luck, but it's doable.

The twins are definitely nice, when I first beat gold with cultist I had level two twins, which really helped with custos and insidiators

Which Adventurer sword doesn't break shields?

I don't know if anybody has discussed this, but on a recent run with the rogue on the silver dungeon, I got the forge upgrade that adds damage to the dash move, but I found that it removed her ability to break shields with her charge attack. Has anybody else had this happen?

It's been awhile, but if I recall correctly the bitter wind is the one that doesn't break shields. I know I've posted this before and someone else responded that it does break shields, so I'm not sure I got it right. It's either that one or the one that reflects projectiles. I'm pretty sure the sunnebrand and the giant's knife break shields.

The Adventurer doesn't have a weapon that reflects projectiles, as far as I can tell from the descriptions. Maybe you're thinking of the Warrior's Stained Glass Sword, which reflects projectiles and is known to not break shields? Or are you referring to Flicker, which dodges projectiles?

    Great!

I'd vote for top-center or bottom-center of the screen. You don't need to watch the meter constantly, it just needs to be in view somewhere.

How did you guys find the gold dungeon with the adventurer? Rogue was great. Last character. Still hasn't registered my warrior gold achievement in gc yet.
