*bugs Kepa about proofing the wiki* I've been meaning to ask for a while now... with the 'reset story' button, will you be able to replay both storyboard cutscenes and 'playable' cutscenes (for example, when you fight off zombies as Blythe)? Also, will the button be like a toggle for turning story on and off, or will it simply reset the story? (Or something else?) Finally, how's the update coming along? Not asking for an eta, just wondering about a general progress report, if possible.
Maybe! Will add this suggestion to the list. What do you want me to proof? Pick whatever's the most urgent and I'll make some time today. I believe the reset story button will play everything like you just started that character. It'll be a toggle in options, I believe. Update: The thing delaying it was a lot of bugfixing relating to the new boss. That's over with now, so we're just plinking away at the rest. Nothing that should take a ton of time, so this upcoming week looks good. I'll also take a bit of extra time to do more balance testing in the new area.
Rouge was the last character I started on the gold dungeon with. Because I had beaten the gold dungeon with all other characters And was experienced I beat the gold dungeon on 3rd try with rouge. Just use your blind bombs whenever you feel like a room is going to kick your ass. Hourglasses is the only thing you should save.
keep restarting the tower and checking the first room. Get treasure chests. Sometimes treasure rooms. Don't fight bad guys
There are 18 pages (a link's in my sig), so I'll break down their status (feel free to look through the whole thing, though ) : Achievements (no help needed {nhn}, fairly straightforward/complete) Bosses (nhn, slight touch up required) Character Classes (nhn, fairly straightforward/complete) Character Upgrades (nhn, fairly straightforward/complete) Dungeons (nhn, slight touch up required) Ember Forges (nhn) Enemies (help please! completion check would be great. there are still some missing, but an indication of who/how many would be awesome) Environmental Hazards (a quick checkover might be good) Floor Themes (a quick checkover might be good) Hats (nhn, it's better if we do this ourselves ) Items (help please! accuracy check would be great.) Loot (nhn, fairly straightforward/complete) Main Page (nhn) Saint Statues (nhn, fairly straightforward/complete) Special Events (nhn, extremely lacking, not your job) Story (nhn, extremely lacking, not your job) Update Log (help maybe? if you could personally put in your plans, that'd be cool. the page is mostly for the future when there are more updates out, but an accurate, from-the-dev 'future plans' section would be nice) Wiki Content (nhn) 'Reset story' button: Have there been any problems with the use of the button and playing dungeons out of order? Or is the story so well segregated between dungeons that it doesn't matter? Just curious. Update: I'm actually graduating from high school in 6 days (obligatory self-boast: as valedictorian), so that timing is perfect if your goal is met.
Just beat third dungeon on two consecutive runs as adventurer and rogue, that just leaves mage. Any tips?
I finally beat the gold dungeon with the mage, that took some practice. Still have the adventurer, spellsword, and rogue to go. ryanini01 I dont think youll have much problem if youve beat the gold dungeon with all the other characters, but heres what I learned: Tips for beating the gold dungeon with the mage 1. Get the warrior gift upgrade to exploit the extra health bug, it helps a lot (this will be fixed it the update though) 2. As soon as you sense trouble, go nuts with your spells and abilities. Just use everything. I used to save hourglasses, I had 3 good runs that all got squashed on the 7th floor when a bunch of enemies dropped from the ceiling and I died pretty quick. The run I won with, I used even my hourglass when things got busy on the screen. 3. The Gelid Embrace robe upgrade (Creates a frigid circle that devours magical projectiles and slows foes) I actually like much better than the Tremor Garb for the gold dungeon. It also makes the boss super easy. 4. the Thorned Temerator is the easiest to kill with the mage. Just always save enough energy to have two attacks in a row so if they are resurrecting someone you can definitely interrupt them (since sometimes once attack is not enough). 5. Dont walk around with a charged attack in the catacombs sections because the Thorned Insidiators (the stealth ones) die with one shot from your regular attack but take two with the charged attack (although this may be changed in the update) 6. The big Demons you can attack from a distance with your charged shot and they will ignore you 7. I didnt mind the different staff upgrades, I got used to them after a while. The forked one for example will let you draw enemies out of rooms at weird angles. I did generally choose the original staff for an upgrade if it was an option though just because I was most comfortable with it. 8. Just like I recommended for the cultist, always fire a couple charged shots into rooms before the door closes to try to draw enemies out. Sometimes you can hit things you wont see. Kepa - I know you were talking about trying to buff the Gust Mantle ability, I think that's a great idea, it does seem like the most difficulty to use base ability in the game. How about just replacing it with the Tremor Garb 360 knock back ability (maybe without the stun ability if that makes her too strong).
Note that the Stubborn Blood upgrade is being changed from health recovery to max health, so if that's upgraded the Mage will keep her extra health after the update. Unfortunately, this comes at the expense of some of her health recovery between floors, which is generally much more useful, so I still recommend trying to complete it before the update. Gelid Embrace is really good for shutting down casters (much like the hourglasses but with shorter duration), so I second this advice. It only takes one hit to interrupt a Temerator, but for some reason you have to hit them after the yellow circle appears around the enemy they are trying to revive. Hitting them earlier will not stop them. I recommend Salamander's Breath due to its speed and piercing ability, but its range is far too short to allow you to draw enemies out of rooms. If you want to do this, the Silver Eye Staff is probably best.
Thanks guys, got to the eight floor with gelid embrace, silver eye staff, and pyremagi codex 2, don't think it'll be too much longer now
Keep getting to the eighth floor, believe about six times now. I always get killed in one room by one of those really small multi-wave rooms.
Tried the tutorial of this game. Couldn't believe the amount of comments on this forum for this. What's the catch about this game that is getting all the reviews and comments???
YES beat gold with all characters @Ozoes It's a game that is very skill based, you get punished a lot but the feeling you get when you accomplish something is worth it.
