The first thing is just due to how the game AI works. Kind of hard to fix. Statues: Maybe we can give them a range. Land mines: Maybe we can make them just a little slower? Really you're supposed to change directions as soon as you hear them, to avoid them.

The Glume Archivist's black circle heals all enemies in it, very rapidly. I think it may slightly increase their max health, too. I forgot the exact mechanics.

I haven't done a count recently! I know all the "main enemies", that is the enemies that fill up the main floor types like the mines, tower, and catacombs, all have rare palette swaps. For the "side enemies" that are in the floors like the drudge moss caves and demon lava cave, I believe there's two rare palette swaps per area. This may fluctuate a little. There are also some rare enemies that aren't a part of an actual area, many of these from Mage Gauntlet like the Blorpx slimes.

There was going to be another area, the Spider Lair, for the Mines. Cut for time and also because the mine already had a ton of areas. Thinking about putting that back in, either in the Tower or Catacombs side area rotation.

Yeah no IAP. We'll add one more class. Other than that we'd instead just do more games, similar to this one. See my previous post to Oka-mi for hints at what we'll be doing with that one.

The new enemies are mostly palette swaps of old enemies, with new attack patterns. And they're already in the game (for the most part), they just are very rare. There's some enemies, like I said above, that don't belong to an area so they don't currently spawn. Or they're not supposed to, anyway. I think some people have seen them.

Can always take a break until the first update. We're considering adding a boss health bar, too. Just need to figure out where to put it.

What about right below the blue bar? It could be really thin like that one. I know I'm already monitoring my health at the boss, and an extra sliver right below there wouldn't really impact visibility.

Gameplay question: With the Spellsword's forge upgrade that gives a chance to ignite enemies by dashing through them, is said ignition meant to cause damage to them? Just wondering, since I dashed through a slime a few times to see if it had any effect and couldn't tell if it was damaged at all or not.

Maybe it just causes slight damage? Anyway, thanks in advance for any info.

    EDIT:
Ooh, just encountered and smote Severus. Got a bombass Paladin helm. I like this game.

Burning causes damage over time, similar to poison. It doesn't deal huge amounts of damage, but it's very entertaining if you find the Drakeleather Spellbinder, Bloodboil Bands, and Phoenix's Plume in the same run. Enemies just constantly burst into flames while you're fighting them.

    I know : (

Anyways, I'm going to make one final plug for the wiki here by asking everyone what their three favorite forge upgrades are for each class. If you decide to reply, please state your favorite upgrade for each possible piece of equipment, meaning 18 choices in all. Give explanations if you want to. Maybe if there are enough participants I can tally the results or something and determine the overall favorite upgrades.

Here's the link to make your endeavor much easier :

    http://wayward-souls.wikia.com/wiki/Ember_Forges

(This is my prime example of what the wiki can potentially be like.)

    Here are my choices:
Warrior- Skullhack (closest to a straight upgrade), Blackened Gauntlets (makes axes much more useful), Thorned Heart (offensive shields? yes please, though Stonebeard Slab is nice for durability)

Mage- Silver Eye Staff (only straight upgrade), Earthshaper's Lexicon (decent damage and excellent range/endurance), Gelid Embrace (lingering magic null and slow is great defense)

Rogue (will likely change with update)- Dancing Grass (straight energy upgrade, Mirage Poinard is sweet but not nearly as useful), Hush Slippers (only straight upgrade), Gnashers (straight crit upgrade)

Adventurer- Giant's Knife (awesome straight upgrade, Sunnebrand is close runner-up for effects), Sunlight Rosary (similar to mage's Earthshaper's Lexicon), Orvar's Shield (in utter usefulness, Tamed Sprite in concept)

Spellsword- Phaseblade (nice effect, no drawbacks), Bloodboil Bands (allows you to damage enemies slowly even while dodging/fleeing), Spellsheath of the Hummingbird (straight energy upgrade)

Cultist- Gord's Jagged Teeth (reduced throw range sounds bad at first, but I found it really doesn't affect me that much, and plus crits is always good), Ominous Black (super damage and wide stun), Belt of the Trickster (potentially the best upgrade in the game...?)

Warrior, the gloves that lower magic and physical damage.

I wish the shields stay out between attacks. Like I understand the shield can't block while u are swinging, but after the swing I have to run or get hit. If I activate shield after an attack I leave myself open and get hit- even if it is blocked by the shield, it is more advantageous for me to dodge. It seems the shields r good for first strikes, but if I charge my attack It doesn't work. I am failing to see the greatness of shields, could someone give pointers on using them?

My old enemy ,the blitz drudge, still hates me from the first game

I was on the sixth level of the tower with the mage and I ran into a drudge room. One of the blitz drudges was completely unkillable. Even when he wasn't dashing, my attacks went through him, and I died. Just a funny bug, I don't care because I've already beaten tower with the mage

So, warrior's stained glass sword doesn't break shields.

Is this a bug in my game or is it actually how the weapon works?

    -----------------------------------

I'll throw my two cents in for the poll, hate most of the weapon upgrades, it's like no thought was given to their actual implementation. They're all conceptually clever, but the disadvantages they have usually outweigh both the advantages the new AND the old weapons have.

Warrior: the skull axe, great dps, and wide arc. Don't get the diff between the shields, gameplay-wise. Damage always gets absorbed. Plate gauntlets are cool, passive dmg soak.

Mage: the staff with yellow version of the regular attack, that gives plus crit chance (all the other "upgrades" use too much energy even for the standard attack. Earth robe, cause it's actually usefull. Fire tome, for the extra crit chance. Makes dealings with groups easier.

Rogue: the gutter, dmg on dash through enemy. All her weapons' abilities have too low of a proc chance imo. I do like the shoes that make you run faster. Null guards are also good, esp with the boost in the future update.Hate any gear with stealth effects. In a game where stealth is dependent on a random drop potion, gear that has a random chance to appear that buffs a randomly dropped potion effect seems...impolite...

Adventurer: giant's knife? The one that's basically the warrior' starting sword. I also dig the ice necklace, mainly cause it functions like ice attacks should in this game, unlike the mage's ice scepter.

Spellsword: same complaint as rogue, most items' abilities proc so rarely, that none of them seem all that fantastic. Phase blade maybe? The sword that claims to do more damage with each strike? Hard to tell.

Cultist: STILL haven't unlocked yet, but since law school's finally over, I might get a chance to play this game for more than one run at a time

I think the character with the best weapon / equip upgrades is the Spellsword. A lot of them seem to add and not subtract from the base abilities. I was pleasantly surprised. All the other classes are a big mixed bag.

I don't know, I think Mage's upgrades are all pretty darn solid.

    ...

I know I promised no more wiki plugs, but I just need a little help on the Items page quickly... do any of you guys see any items that I'm missing? I managed to get pictures for all of them, so it should be easy visually to see if one is missing (if you do recognize that there is a vacancy). I know there's still a fair amount of info missing from that page, but as long as all the items are at least represented, filling in the info should be fairly simple.

    http://wayward-souls.wikia.com/wiki/Items

    Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that's all of the items. I went ahead and added all of the hats I currently have to the Hats page, as well as a few rare enemies (Glume Duskguard, Glume Dusklord, Ascended Ink) to the Enemies page. There's also a rare purple demon in the cult levels whose name I can't remember, despite specifically checking it the last time I encountered the enemy a few hours ago. Should minibosses be included too?

So this just happened, certainly wasn't expecting to actually win. Warrior and Mage down, 4 more characters to go.
