Hey Kepa, I have a few questions for the Enemy page of the wiki. What does the Glume Archivist's 'attack' do that leaves a circle on the ground? I have not been able to tell. Also, if you're at liberty to say, what is the total number of enemy 'species' in this game, barring bosses? And how many of those are rare palette swaps? (I just met the Forgotten Foreman for the first time in my multiple weeks of playing. Other rare enemies I've met are the Gargoyle (seems to be fairly common for a rare enemy, relatively speaking), the Glume Captain with the super flail, and the black lifter, among others.) Anyone who has finished the game and sees little point in playing until the update, working on the wiki is a great way to play with a new, specific purpose to be achieved. Exploration is more meaningful to me when documenting enemy species and their attacks.
I'm not quite sure either, but enemies within the circle generally take more hits to kill than normal. I think it boosts their defense, or possibly regenerates their health.
GUYS! I'm so happy. After days of smashing the catacombs with every character learning every enemy I finally did it. I beat it with the warrior, I learned every enemy. Had full health the entire dungeon, only ever got hit 1-2 times on a floor. I had full health when I reached the boss but the guys before the boss got me a few times. I ended up having 80% health, a health pops & 2 hourglasses which helped tons because I used them that hammered her, dodged a few of her power balls. I popped a fire ball sword pot and shot her a few times until she exploded! So happy. That's the thing with this game. It's difficult but in a good way. Once you beat a dungeon boss you feel so relieved & happy. Especially since I found a few hats on the way and unlocked another character. Have around 50 hats now. Can't wait for more content endless / dungeon of hell.
Glume archivists do heal others, if you watch you can see a flash on the enemy getting healed, and if you do the normal amount of damage required before the flash, they die. I dedicated a run a while ago to finding out lol
Looking through Rocketcat's old Facebook posts... Wayward Souls went through an absolutely ridiculous amount of development changes. In one comment Kepa said they had 14 classes planned (I want that so badly ). Here's a picture of some enemies they designed... some are familiar, some not so.
Apricosomoso, you already asked this question earlier in the thread and were answered by Kepa. Short-term memory loss or something? (Sorry if that sounds rude, I was just surprised that it was you who was asking... because you had already been answered directly by Kepa earlier.)
I would so pay for an expansion class. Like 1$ for a single crazy class. Like crusader, a bad ass who can throw up a heal that heals like | | that much health. Maybe can do a all around charge attack. (Sword swings completely around) I know you don't want iap. But it's incentive to make this class, because people will buy it.
I'd rather see the scrapped Gunner class from Wayward Saga/Mage Dungeon. But yeah, new classes as IAP is a great idea (should it also prove financially viable). For those that would decry the presence of IAP: Charging for expansions (something that has been done throughout the history of gaming) is an idea entirely different from freemium mechanics that entice players into investing real-world money for advantages or progression, and the expansion does not become a thing of evil just because it is delivered as IAP Personally, I much prefer to purchase expansions in-game, as opposed to buying them as a separate app. (The idea that there is something inherently immoral or exploitative in IAP as a mechanic is not doing developers any favours, and while it is easy to see why this notion has spread, thanks to all the terrible example of IAP in games, the content delivery method is unrelated to the content delivered, and its pricing.)
The only problem with IAP extra classes is that RocketCat has already firmly stated that Wayward Souls will never have IAP, and that there will be no additional classes ever because the process takes forever to do correctly and they've got other stuff to work on (so pretty much a 0% chance). I would personally and enthusiastically welcome the idea, but there are many who might (unreasonably) feel betrayed by the addition of extra classes via IAP. Besides that and any personal feelings RocketCat has towards IAP, I would love to see this happen. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure RC has already made up its mind.
Random request but since there are so many hats, I wish the hat screen would be bigger. From what I see on my screen, it can be extended by at least 1 row and 1 column. This would just make the user have to scroll less since there's 200 hats or so.
I wouldn't call that unreasonable. Considering they said they'd have no IAP and instead would increase the price by $1 for each content update, early buyers who were thus told they would get every content update would feel ripped off.
Yeah, my wording was slightly off there, I should've clarified. I meant that even if there had been no promises of no IAP, there would be plenty of people who would unreasonably attack the addition of IAP extra classes. But yes, I completely understand your point. On the other hand... early adopters are still technically saving money by buying the game early, as the hypothetical extra classes IAP would be in addition to the increased entry price. That part of the promise would still be completely intact if they added IAPs. But they did say no IAP ever, so it would indeed be a 'betrayal' in that context.
Erhm I asked about the THEME (desert theme, lava theme, etc etc). He told me it would be a mash up of the old dungeons. That does NOT mean there wont be new enemies. It only means the wall/floor textures will be the same.
Finally beat Humphrey as the Warrior. Whew. This game is tough. Really wish the bosses had visible HP
I really like the game and the difficulty is appealing, but after playing the second dungeon for more than a week and only making it to the boss a few times I'm considering giving up.
