Had what I thought was a good run on the first repeater on infinity. 26.75 seconds.

Thought, ha this isn't so bad, then went up to the next level and longest I've got is four seconds lol.

Husband getting pissed off with hearing "game over, begin" over and over, that's how long I'm lasting lol, so the headphones are coming out now.

Think I found a bug. I completed Yep Too Easy last night, and did a few attempts on Is This A Joke. When I came back today, Is This A Joke is still locked despite Yep Too Easy being completed

I think the Tap To Play screen between selecting a level and the actual level seems kind of extraneous. Game could just get right to the gameplay without an extra screen in between. We already have a second or two to prepare at the start of every attempt while the line is straight

Edit: yeah, checked and other games like Super Hexagon, Line Bound, Boson X, Duet just start. No buffer between selecting a level/mode and playing

    ---

Also thought of a possibility to cut out at least one menu.
In Infinity Mode, how about when you select a mode, rather than going to a new screen, a little menu drops down or slides in from the side into the space underneath the word. It would operate just like the selection on the current menu does (arrows to switch difficulties or modes) and then you tap to accept. Wouldn't need to go another menu

    Something like this

Have played for an hour or so this afternoon (not advanced much further lol) but have had heaps of fun. I've even found myself mumbling words from the game, the same way you hum a song that gets stuck in ya bonce. Husband just looks at me funny when I say "flat" while cooking dinner.

I have couple of teeny niggle, I've been focusing on kevels and the exact point where I have my hand to play is the same point where the level select button is after death, I only saw the "tap to retry" and thought I was doing it correctly but wasn't as the level select button was obscured by my hand (not particularly big, at least I hope not#). Would it be possible to move the level select up a bit? I keep getting annoyed with myself as I keep hitting the wrong part and it takes longer to get back I to the game.

Also on level select it might be good if the first level shown was the first up completed one, hope that made sense, I've completed levels 1 and 2 so I'd like if when I next loaded that it's start 3instead of having to scroll through the completed ones first.

I also agree with bronxsta and lowering the amount of menu screens, I was kind of thinking maybe having a menu screen with the different level names written in the black triangle mountains with the black line crashing into it when you select a mode, similar to the game. God hope I'm making sense, I tend to ramble on an d on when I get excited lol.

These are tiny niggles though In What is a solid, addicting and really really enjoyable game. I so can't wait for the full version so get ya finger pulled out and get working!!

I've been having the level select location issue as well. I kept forgetting to mention it

I agree the menu system could be streamlined a little more, as right now, there seems to be tons of separate menus to go through before starting a game. Still, this is a pretty minor thing, but then again, a bit of polish even in menus can go a long way.

Now that I've played more, I agree with the others on the Retry position. I use my right thumb and almost instinctively go to tap with it. You could swap the locations; put Retry where Level Select is, and vice versa. I think that would work

And I got to ask, is the voice meant to be a homage to Super Hexagon? It seems pretty similar. Not in a bad way, though; it adds this kind of familiar tone and the voice just fits with the gameplay

Agree, switching the retry to where levels select currently is would be great.

Holy cow.... Let's just say when you hit 30 seconds, some reeeeaaaally trippy stuff starts to happen.....

I improved my time by 20 seconds on this run. Basically my proudest moment in life.

Only played a few games, but the button swap has made retrying so much more intuitive now.
    Oh, and nice new icon

Now that Hoplite has hit the spotlight, I need a new undiscovered gem to mention every opportunity I get - wasn't expecting it to be a game that isn't even out yet!

I've had the same thoughts that others have had but as soon as I restart the game they're gone from my brain. It's entrancing and five second lives have somehow taken up hours of my day, to the point that I think about it at work. You build up the bravado, convincing yourself you could easily dominate the next level only for the game to headbutt you and then kick you in the genitals when you're most vulnerable.
I'd never thought I could compare that to something good, I'm not sure what you've done to me!

I'd love to say that it's the perfect balance of brutality against fairness but it's not and that's one of my favourite things about Wave Wave. It is unapologetic in the most vindictive way. It's a game I hate to love and love to hate but there's no doubt that the game just hates me. I'm going to be gifting this to a few special people that really deserve it!

If you're in any doubt after this how I feel about the game then I can say only this: it's borderline perfection. It defines the genre and sets a whole new standard for how much content can be included. It's the prettiest game I've seen in the genre, the fluidity and fidelity are something that can only be believed during gameplay.
I really wanted to tone down my hyperbole for this post but I've failed. I just don't care. It's your fault for making fall in love with this game. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the corner playing Wave Wave :D

I'm liking all the changes so far. Although I wished that the "X" took you to the screen that tapping the level name takes you to now

    Awesome!

Quick sticks is my favourite repeater stage.

I don't know if it's fair, but would anyone like to see my record?
