LOL. Glad he replied. I think he saw the trailer and thought u modeled the main character based on yourself and decided he had better reply. :D

Regardless of the name, I dig the game, want to play it. If you ever want to update the graphics, look me up, i'll help ya out and I specialize in precision pixel art, check out my profile pic for an example.

  4. Yes but it's only slightly modeled on myself- I have bigger boobs

    Cheers!

actually, the more I think of the name, "Wasted Youth" sounds like a way better name for the game than punk justice, theres just something lacking luster from "punk justice"

  6. Yeah, then I'd just get sued by MeatLoaf! Cool idea! :p

    you wouldn't.

common, then no one could use a word titanic, call a song dark knight or write a book known as purple rain for example. ;)

i think that it's a nice idea for a name. but in this case - doesn't fit the game.

  8. Erm, it was a joke- hence the smiley

What does everyone think of the new font for the title? I know I have already had some positive comments. I was thinking of changing the buttons etc to the same font for the update (look back at post 1 to see how they look atm).

I think he's talking about this:

I think its a little overdone, the font itself is fine, but all the layer effects around it totally mash it up and make it hard to read in a certain sense.

Also, you might want to consider splitting the words up and angling them so they are largest at the center where the 2 words meet, giving it more of an epic feel.

Tilting the text, skewing it, etc.. applying some simple strokes, shadowing ( NO BEVELING! ) it will look a lot cleaner and have more impact.

Also, the punk behind the text is very blurry looking, cleaning that image up will also help.

Again, i offer my tips here, but as a professional graphic artist my visions speak louder than words. If you want some "free" help with your marketing materials or otherwise, just PM me, I'll be home later today where all my tools are :)

    i'm totally opposite.

i think this logo fits the game perfectly. it's blur, it's a bit dirty. i love the way it is. there is a spirit in it.

I have to say, Punk Justice doesn't seem like an appealing name to me. If I saw that name somewhere on the store, I wouldn't bother clicking.

Fists of Justice really represented what type of game it was, and had a much nicer ring to it. Oh well, either way your game is going to be great! I can't wait!

Punk Justice is a terrible name. Sound like a bad 80's movie. Plus "punk" is a corny holdover name that sounds wierd in 2009. Only "punks" these days are sissies, not criminals up to no good, so why are you bothering to bring the "Punk Justice" to them in the first place?

he decided to change the name, he had two options... both had "punk" in the name. that was his decision. but still... fist of justice is THE BEST ONE possible, and no impact of a comic book should change it.

Thanks to everyone for your honest feedback.

I will perhaps look at different ways to present the same font for an update. At least there'll be no rush, so I can take my time with it. With regards to Jed, the punk behind the title, he stays as he is. It is meant to have a kind of hazy, misty look. I like it.

With regards to the name, a further YouTube search revealed an amateur martial arts video someone made (see attached pic), so the name turned out to be more popular than I realized. I want a name that's original and something people will remember. I think Punk Justice is that name.

But again, thanks for your opinions :)

    agreed. 200%.

i know what you mean. but it's always about certain PRODUCT, in this case GAME. and Fist of Justice fits perfectly. i'm sure that a lot of people was interested in it just because of the name.

Hazy is one thing, quality is another. My standards are quite high though. In the end it's about gameplay and not flashy bells and whistles.

Well you could always rename it Fists of Justice. But I like Punk Justice, it stands out, it's agressive, it's perfect.

  20. The only problem with this name is that at a quick glance, I thought that said "Pink Justice" and wondered if Reese Witherspoon had returned to voice a Legally Blonde video game...

    Just sayin'...
