Well, I gave up on Wargrunts soon after I bought it. I'm excited about the update: the issues I (and others) had seem to all be addressed in this minor update, and more! Even throwing me a bone! (first crack at the In A Tank) I'll let you know....
Excellent update. I don't care about high scores so I'm glad the hurry up artillery is no longer fatal in normal mode. That was my major complaint. Can't wait to try out the tanks.
Understood, but for some touch owners and those of us who won't touch 3.0 until 3.1, you are of course missing out on our custom. It seems a quite a few developers are releasing apps which take advantage of 3.0 if it's installed but are quite happy to run on 2.2.1
By the time we sort out all the issues involved in getting a 2.2.1 build together and get it through approval (which can take a month now), 3.1 will be out anyway. So generally better for me to spend the time on the games and updates rather than something that wouldn't actually benefit anybody.
No, that would be iDracula. totally different game. The only reason to do dual analog controls would be for walk + shoot. That might sound a good idea because it makes it identical to all the other shooting games that are out there, but Warpack: Grunts is designed as a tactical squad game, not a direct blaster. So all the levels are designed around you *knowing* that you're slightly vulnerable while firing and taking that into account. If you can strafe by running around while firing, it changes everything and all the levels would have to be re-designed, making it a straight blaster. No real point as there are hundreds of those games on the App Store already. I am looking at the idea of a single stick + fire control variant that suits the game. It's not the ideal method, that's already in. But it gives an alternate for people who can't survive without a dpad or have chubby fingers. Priority was of course for the control method the game is designed around and that most players have learned. With the update in place that tunes that control method I can look at an alternate control method for everyone else that doesn't spoil the game.
Just got word that Grunts 1.0.1 got through approval so hopefully it'll start showing up on the App Store and updates in the next half hour or so. If you've not got Grunts yet btw. This is your last chance to grab the 1.0 version and play it to be able to get the special thank you bonus game mode that's just for the early adopters. (if you miss it, it will be in the next update for everyone, but there might be something extra for the 1.0.1 users then ).
I'm looking forward to the hurry up mortar change most of all. Because I'm crap and slow so it realy made the game hard
This game is so much more enjoyable to play with the update - I love it! Tank mode is great. I hope I'll find the musical instrument
