Well whenever it was submitted, I'm hopeful by this coming weeks end the Touch/iPhone version should be available.

I doubt they're doing stuff, with it being Easter.

Does anyone know the price? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

It looks like a non-online version of a space MMO like Eve Online or something. I just read the blurp about it on Freeverse's website. It looks you do missions, explore planets and there are various factions. I assume you have space battles as well.

You might want to ask this in the Warpgate HD thread in the iPad forum since those guys are actually playing the game.

....there isn't a rule that says you have to own an iPad to post in a forum about an ipad game. I just recommended that because the exact same game was released for the iPad already, so there are likely people on that forum who are playing it and can better answer your questions. Nobody is going to yell at you for not owning an iPad...

TouchArcade are already advertising the banner for this game, and with that small bit of hope, every time I see it on my itouch, I tap the banner in the hope that when it directs me to the appstore, it'll show me the game, but I'm disappointed every time :( Come on Apple, stop spoiling our fun and approve iTouch/iPhone games already.

If I were Freeverse I would be pretty put out that i'd paid for banner ads to promote a game that wasn't yet available. I've had a great break this bank holiday weekend seeing friends and family etc only marred slightly by the fact that I was expecting some major releases to try out this wkend. Namely this and Pocket Legends also Mirror's Edge.... Oh well I guess this means we'll have a glut a big name releases to try out in the next few days.... when i'm back in work ! doh !

I think Freeverse and Spacetime Studios (developers of Pocket Legends) are likely irritated. If you listen to some interviews with Spacetime Studios, they planned on a multiplatform April 3 worldwide release date, and of course that didn't happen. I believe Freeverse expected something similar.

Mirror's Edge can be blamed solely on EA. What I read essentially states EA delayed it to get the iPad version built. I don't think the same is the case with Warpgate and Pocket Legends.

I would have liked to have seen more combat in the video. The person playing seemed to avoid combat, but that always seemed like the most interesting part of the game to me. I've been a bit worried about how enjoyable the combat will be ever since Hippieman let us know the AI takes control of flying your ship as soon as you enter combat. I always thought the combat in this game would be very strategical based on how you flew your ship, the aspect you presented enemies, how you piloted small ships around big ships, and even hoped you could toggle shield and weapon power, etc. Finding out you can't control how your ship flies in combat makes me wonder if you do anything other than fire your guns as fast as possible and hope your ship is better than the other guys. Graphically the game still looks very nice. Hopefully the story is interesting. I'm really surprised at the lack of reviews so far. Even TA hasn't covered it, and they said it was one of their priorities Saturday morning.

The video was interesting, but it was nothing like I expected it. The combat looks ok... Honestly I was expecting more. And the story seems to just be represented in little boxes filled with text and the picture of the person your talking too.

I don't know I wish the guy would post some longer videos, and why can your enemies shoot at you without being in combat?

And hippieman the new gameplay trailer released last week, touch/iphone or ipad?

The video is more of a "first impression" then an overall feel. It seems to only scratch a hint of the surface. I'm sure there is ALOT more of this game to show off and that video, in a sense being that it was just newly released onto the iPad, gives us the baby steps to the beginning of the game. Treating it as that, I'd say, I'm fairly impressed.

Its not that I am unimpressed. Like the backgrounds for all the planets that you land on are very reminiscent of the Escape Velocity series, which is awesome. And the graphics are some of the best we have seen in launch titles for the iPad (Though they could be definitely better).

And I am hopeful that the story line is impressive and branching. And the fact that their are 170 some ships to purchase and command is amazing, considering some of them I guess are quite large (Capital Ships rule!).

And although the combat isn't necessarily what I wanted (Full control over movement), it does look like it could be intriguing. But then why does it seem like your enemies can shoot you and damage you in the overworld, yet it appears you can only attack during combat?

And I guess it comes down to the fact that most of the people looking forward to this game can't play it most likely due to the fact that its currently only been released on the iPad. Don't get me wrong it being "HD" on the iPad is cool, if I ever pick one up and I like the game why not. But it would have been nice to be able to play the game now, I guess I'm worried the Touch and iPhone version might be lacking seeing as how we can assume the game took so long simply because of the iPad version. And suffice to say you can't even control movement in combat on the iPad!

Ya, I hope there are some actual cutscenes to the story and it's not all told through dialogue boxes.

I would have to say that after watching the video the ships move to try and dodge the missiles. In the long run I think thats better because it would be hard to control your ship and be attacking at the same time without some kind of accelerometer movement which to my knowing it does not have though the enemies attacking you I think is both good and bad but we will have to see once we get the game in our hands (c'mon apple!) to me this is more like a space exploration type game kinda like star trek with the whole you don't shoot we don't shoot sort of thing.
