I understand the feeling. But we haven't even submitted it yet. So your not missing anything yet. I promise the only thing I want to do is get the game out and in your hands!
Congratulations. Will it be released as soon as it's reviewed? Or is there a specific release date? Definitely looking forward to it, although (surprisingly) not enough info has been released to really sell the game yet. Will more info on the game start coming out now in the lead up to its release?
Cool. That's what I thought, but I wasn't certain since Hippieman said something along the lines of "hope for a smooth review process." Lately a smooth review process has been two or three days -- which would have the game ready before the iPad. Then again, Apple's probably being swamped with iPad games right now, so the review process might be slower.
There are a lot of parts to the game. Technology wise this is one of our most advanced games. Then on top of the game there is: Custom iPod Controls, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Plus+ features. That's a lot of tech all working together. Part of why the dev was so long. We work to make all of our games adhere to the HIG (Human Interface Guidelines). But it can be tricky with how we want to attempt something.
I read from Slide to Play that Apple has set a deadline of tomorrow (27 March) for devs to submit iPad games to be eligible for approval by 3 April. So I guess Warp Gate is more likely to meet the expected launch date. Source: http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/apple-leaks-approved-ipad-games
Again if this game is going to be released soon, why haven't we seen any trailers or new screens? Lots of other dev studios are showing off their iPad versions or originals already. With some titles not being released for time to come. Please hippieman or whatever or whomever release some visual details. You already have stiff competition on its way in the form of Dangerous: Null Space. Plus god knows what in the dev process. Just because you may be the first out of the gate in your genre does not mean you will be successful. So if this game is on the way NOW WOULD BE THE TIME TO ADVERTISE!
Trying to get anything out of this company and there top team, has been like trying to get blood out of a stone. For the past year, we here have been on at them, only to get stippets of info. I wouldn't expect alot from these unhappy, under the thumb of there PR Department people. But big kudos for those TA members that struggle to keep this thread alive. We nearly there guys, and thanks for finding the small bits of info and posting about em. Freeverse should be hiring you!!!
Well we can only assume that whatever Freeverse has planned, it must be of some sort of financial strategy. It is a bit odd to see no advertisements at all recently, given the game is due to be released in 5 days' time. Seems to be at extreme opposite to some games (especially those from Ngmoco) which probably thrives in overhyping releases.
Does hippieman actually work for the company that is making Warp Gate? Hippieman if your out their, now is the time to hype this game. As of now I am more exited about the sequel to Space Miner than I have ever been to Warp Gate. I understand that your company might want to make this a surprise, but it could be financially stupid to keep it al hush hush. As I said earlier now is the time to advertise, does this game even exist?
There's only so much I can do. I've been asked not to put out any screenshots or materials by people who are paid much more than me. I have to just do what they say. That said I'm asking to release some new stuff.
That has to be frustrating for you. A lack of advertising is one thing, but refusal to even let you talk about a game you've finished is taking things even farther (and really weird as well.) I've never understood the bussiness philosophy that says you should keep customers in the dark about everything for as long as possible, including release date and price, but apparently some companies think it works. With the game supposededly coming out in five days, though, you'd think they'd allow you to start selling it. What I've seen looks great, but in truth I've seen very little -- and I'm someone who looks around for things to see. Anyway, hopefully they'll back off soon, will let you talk, will set up some hands on previews with sites, etc.
yes! any one else see alpha centauri system oh no... pandora is there with na'vi lol cant wait for this game 172 different starships totally got me wanting this like now!
