Well, if you've been living under a rock for the past month or so, Freeverse recently released a new title called Warp Gate. The size of this game is astounding, and all that size gives way to... Easter Eggs! That's right, there's tons to be found in this game for a chuckle or two. Some of them even involve users on the TA forums! This thread is for sharing the easter eggs that you find in the game. I'll start off with the few I've found so far: 1) On a few of the asteroids that you can mine, if you wait long enough to see the different kinds of minerals that are available, you can often find that Unobtainium is among the list, clearly a spoof on James Cameron's Avatar. 2) In the Arietis system, you can find a small planet called Midian, where the Midian GTX virus has been ravaging the countryside for quite some time. 3) In the Alpha Centauri system, there is a planet called Devil's Rock, which was discovered by the mysterious Pirate captain of the "Devilishly Good" starship. It seems that most of the Easter Eggs involve waiting to see the descriptions that pop up, in case you're looking for some. Got any that you've found? Post them here! P.S.: If there is a thread like this already, sorry; I searched high and low for it. Also, I felt that the Lounge was more appropriate for this thread than Game Discussion, as it is slightly more random than most threads there.
I can't remember exactly, but I do recall seeing a news event involving the nation of toucharcadia.....
Wow... that is really cool! Maybe you should look after a pirate vessel's "Captain Awesome"! Maybe there is a Hodapp-system? Or a planet "Vovin"... or "Vovinium" minerals? I should take a close look now.
Were You guys beta-testers, that You were menioned in the game? Or developers picked randomly the most active users from here?
no, they won a planet naming competition. also, if you're lucky enough, on the news subdivision, you can find about toucharcadia celebrating something for king arn.
"Unobtanium" is a term that's been around since the 50s and has been popularly used as a MacGuffin in fiction for ages. Its use in Avatar (calling it buy name) is almost certainly done ironically as well.
Sorry for the bump, but I found another that's asteroid related. Some of the asteroids have "Funk" as the available resources.
