Isn't this just a scam in itself? Why recommend an Android - why not 'another smartphone', say a Blackberry?

And isn't Maryland where cookies are made?

Maybe because Android seems to be taking over blackberry?

I hope my account doesn't get jacked.. (Look at location)

Avoid apple products? No thank you. Solution to such a problem is not avoiding iDevices. Just dont link your credit card with iTunes if you think its not safe enough. Use gift cards instead. Easiest simplest and the most practical solution IMO.

I understand a $1000 scam is going to be extremely painful but avoiding apple products is not a solution. Avoid them only if you dont like iDevices in the first place. Then its justified. As far as hacks are concerned, no one can promise (not android, not amazon, not paypal, no one et al) you 100% hack proof accounts. Its bound to happen when there are so many millions of iTunes accounts out there. Apple does seem to value all these accounts and I seriously cant imagine that they arent doing all they can to improve iTunes account security.

Now, I've never had such an experience but from what I've heard, apple has always refunded the user in all such cases. It's going to take them some time to check your story but if someone really did hack your account, I'm sure you'll get your money back.

Android apps recently got plagued with viruses, it's no safer over there. To be honest the best way to hack someone's iTunes account is just to find out their password, this is only a thought but... maybe you were just careless.

Sorry you had that experience, but I'll be sticking with Apple.

If an account gets hacked, I'd say there's around a 95% chance that the fault lies with the user, not Apple.

And your support post to Apple doesn't help your case one bit:
" I am not angry at Steve jobs, I have to remind myself"
"I am as loyal a customer as I could be under the circumstances... I'll be on an android phone I'm going to purchase"

Have you tried calling them instead?

Each time I hear this the end result is at a minimal, as in the quoted post in just having 2 gift certificate charged at their expense. Considering the millions of iTunes accounts and being hacked for only a couple of games, certificates, etc, then I see no reason to stop using the store. Its a gamble but not unlike any other site using credit cards. If it was a case of strong evidence on wiping out entire credit cards then I would take more aggressive action but I'm sure Apple is working to combat this (why wouldn't they?).

And again, why the recommendation of another product and advising to avoid Apple products? There is the option of using other means to pay other than a cc.

So basically, even though you only lost $50, because credit card companies have to take the hit for fraud, you still have to bitch about it to us?

Your "hack" is probably a friend who saw your password, an unsecured wireless network, or using the same password on all sites.

PS. We could have an ethical discussion on whether it's piracy to crack the apps so that you personally can use them.

You just have to lol at OP.

Because his account got hacked and he lost what, $50?, he's going to throw away his "$1000" worth of content.

Within 6 hours of my posting this, the solution presented itself.

And actually, a diff credit card got attached to my acct instead. I have never been to Maryland, so nonidea where that billing add came from. The total charges were $100, and this would lead others to believe that I stole a credit card number, which was why I was angry.

I don't want to go to prison for someone else. Does seem immature to be that angry in hindsight. Can't erase your mems so just going to have to deal with constant ridicule from this community.

Would love to see a delete thread button. The trolls are going to go nuts over this thread.

Personally I would consider sending an apology letter to Apple in regards to your "threatening" mail you sent earlier. I mean you were trying to sway others to not buy Apple products and all. Just a thought and I know its a sensitive issue so please don't take it the wrong way.
