I created a gamespy account, yet when i log on nothing appears under the "Server Name" or "players" menus, anyone else having this problem?
Was very underwhelmed with COB. Yeah it's pretty, but not much interactivity (shoot the sign to start the carny game? really? how hard would it have been to put a use button in?) and I'm finding the control scheme to be a major pain in the rear. Get rid of that aiming joystick on the right and give me a real fire button. I dunno, maybe I'd get used to it if I was willing to put the time in but honestly, I don't see anything that makes me want to put the time in. In a way, games are kinda like movies. The more they hype em, the more it builds expectations up and the tougher it is for the game to succeed. For a first effort from an indie developer, it's awesome. For a game I want to play - not so much. Maybe after a few updates.
You can't. While using onestick. I really don't get how they couldn't even get the controls right. I think it's pretty easy to make touch controls
There are a few ways to achieve this: -Double Tap+Drag (touch, release, touch+drag) the background -Use the Dual or Triple Stick control layout's fire stick The most recent patch (v1.04), which will be available later today, tightens the double-tap + fire delay/window so that accidental firing is far less common. As always, we're open to suggestions on how to improve the controls, and will be providing a number of customization options in future patches. Planned options include the ability to adjust that double-tap delay/window, and disabling of double-tap + drag entirely. -Dusten
I'll try out your suggestions. If you're looking for suggestions, just copy MC2's. Seriously. That's what everyone here wants. A specific fire button, swipe anywhere to aim. And 1 joystick to move with. And stop the screen from moving after you let go. We can live with the reload button. but maybe smoother animations between switches without the lag.
I agree with you whole-heartedly. I'm very disappointed, and, while it may only be a good update to bring this up to snuff, I don't have the patience or the available space on my device to wait until 'maybe' this can be better at a later date, so, for me, it's DELETE.
v1.04 released The v1.04 patch has been released on the app store~ What's New in this Version: -Improved performance on all platforms -Double-Tap + Drag firing window reduced from 0.55 to 0.25 seconds, reducing the chances of misfire with swipe turning -Bots now fill servers as human players leave -Gamespy Server Browser now sorts by ping and allows scrolling -Over 75 dedicated servers, available in all regions This is a mini-patch that was created in the last ~24 hours, and addresses some of the most serious issues with v1.03. You can expect future updates to include many more improvements such as: -team deathmatch and other game modes -overhauled ui (font scaling for all platforms; menus reworked to allow for more options, easier use, etc; points in the scoreboard; better crosshair, ammo count) -map fixes and performance improvements ^--nav mesh improvements (poor nav meshes are one of the main reasons why AI is having difficulty right now..) -general AI improvements -new content -fast weapon switching, reload canceling -porting gamecenter-related code to gamespy (achievements, leaderboards, friends, etc) And for those speculating, we are indeed exploring how much we can raise the player cap. Gamecenter was a major limitation in performance and feasibility of supporting more than 2-4 players, and it was one of the many reasons why we switched over to Gamespy late in development. Of course these improvements won't take place all in one patch, but v1.04 should give you a taste of just how seriously we consider your input, and how fast we iterate internally. As of right now, we're aiming to release major patches/improvements every 1-2 weeks. A side note regarding updates and server compatibility: We understand this is a mobile platform, and don't want you guys to be ambushed with an update request when you have a poor internet connection. With every update to the client, we will be hosting legacy servers to let those of you on older versions of the game continue to play until you're able to update. These legacy servers will stay online for 3-5 days with each migration. -Dusten
I appreciate all the work you guys are putting in. I'm considering buying this now just to support developers who support their games as well as you guys do. Of course I expect this game will be a lot better say, 2 or 3 months down the road.
If you could at least say your considering a control scheme similar to every other shooter (the same one that has been suggested about 10 times in this thread you know just like mc2), then I will pick it up. The feedback about the control scheme is the only thing holding me back, if I knew a dev was willing to entertain the thought of implementing them, I'd support it by buying a copy.
I see that the update is out. I'll probably make the jump and buy it now. Hope this gets updated a lot.
That's all I needed to hear, thanks for the reply. As soon as my daughters get done streaming a movie, I'm hitting the buy button.
Awesome Work So Far Just thought I'd say thank you to the dev's for the effort they're putting in to get this game up to scratch. I've been anticipating Warm Gun for some time now, and was a bit disappointed as the game had frequent crashes on my iPad. However, I've updated to 1.04 and its a lot smoother and more playable than before (still a tiny bit of slow down and frame rate drop when turning fast, but I'm assuming this will be fixed with future updates, and no where near as bad as pre-1.04). Just a few questions, however... Firstly, when is the Outlaw going to be added? Secondly, the app still crashes on my iPad when I touch the screen as the logos are playing (the Unreal and Emotional Robots logos). Is this a known crash on the iPad 1 or am I the only one experiencing it?
