I read your whole post, granted you changed your mind but it was stupid in the first place to submit a low review. Hope its not just a case of tit for tat if they said something negative in your Shadow Gun thread, you then come back to do the same to them. Would prefer to see users bickering rather than 'professional' game companies trying to get one over on each other
so if there are just wrong settings for iphone 4 and it is already fixed so maybe it is good to post video which shows how new version runs with new settings?
psj3809 - you still dont understand my post or my English is really bad. I asked you to show some love to developers and gave you my example of overreaction.. Is it hard to understand it ? I dont care if other developer did something negative in our thread, to be honest I dont know about it. And I hijack this thread to defend them..
I really hope that they fix the controls, into modern combat 2 way. I really hate unreal engine for making the game sluggyish. I think that the unity engine is the best in making stabilized games for iPhone. Well, theres still some lags and gives low performance on frames. You guys should just lower everything down a bit and make the game run at more than 30 fraps per second and stablize it so that It will not go under 30 fps.
Awesome, even madfingergames gave 1 star...to be honest, buy the 4s, and play this. Or wait for an update until it runs smooth on iPod 4 iPhone 4g or 3gs
Your English is fine. psj3809 was just being massively unfair. And your point is well taken. This is a big game using technology that is still fairly untested on this platform. A bit of patience is not too much to ask for.
When most people buy a game, they expect it to work. Testing and implementing of new technology and so on is the devs responsibility and not something the end user should have to consider. If you release something to the public and charge money for it, it should be a working product. After months of delays, and after beta-testing, that's not too much to ask for either. Hopefully the patch will fix things up, but if the best we can hope for is the possibility of an improvement from 'unplayable' to 'decent or good', that's a very poor state of affairs.
Me unfair ? I wasnt the one who overreacted and gave them 1 star. Then preach to people not to over react and give them 1 star ! Way too many people nowadays stupidly moan about a game and slate it without waiting for updates, at least the company know there is a problem and have mentioned they will fix them quite a few times. So fair play to them. Look at the difference with them and that company who released that Highflyer Deathdefeyer game, game seems buggy, shill accounts, not one word from them apologising for the issues and what they'll do to fix them. Anyway just been playing this lunchtime, still teething problems obviously but the game has vast potential. Cant wait for the first update.
Sooooo this is currently not worth buying in its current state if I have a Ipod Touch 4g or is it completely hopeless?
Wouldnt say its completely hopeless. I've got the same ipod touch as you, had to reset my device first before i played it as the app kept returning to the home page. Been playing a fair bit in offline mode, controls take some getting used to but had a good solid 30 mins earlier playing it. Might be worth waiting for the update but it 'should' be a good game once these initial bugs/problems are fixed. Seems to run pretty well on my device The video above is good to watch, from that it looks like it plays alright. But i would still wait for the patch to be on the safe side
I'd definitely say save your money until you hear if the patch helps unless you're happy to pay $5 for what the dev describes as an unplayable game(!)
You're either being unfair or just missing the point. What Madfinger was saying is simple: his first reaction was to give the game a one star, but then regretted it and presumably changed his score. He is asking people to not do what he did and give the developers a chance. He is offering himself as an example of what not to do. Madfinger is being honest here and admonishing people to take a breath before reacting as he admits he should have done himself. I frankly cannot see what's wrong with that. @elhombre: you are absolutely right, and obviously we should criticize where criticism is warranted. But I don't think there's a reason to overreact the way Creepshow did above.
I think ill take a leap of faith on this one and buy it. The dev was quite speedy in bringing out the other update so ill support them by buying this.
this game has potential but totally unplayable on ipad 1. it's like 7-10 fps on offline play and mostly 10-15 fps on online. ai is terrible. i've seen lots of other games with better graphics and better performace. even the epic town demo of unreal engine demo is at least 25 fps on ipad1. plus there really is no explosion effect on tnt barrels, they just disappear! and if you see that lens flare on online play, that means your're dead because when you see iy, your frame rate will suddenly drop to, say, 5! totally unbelievable. the game also crashes to home at the end of a round mostly. i wonder how the devs decided to release this game at this stage, after tons of beta testing. after all warm gun might have been a game changer in the industry if it had all the performance optimizations, but sadly it will dig its own grave if the devs don't optimize it in a few days. there are no official reviews yet but probably tonight there will be lots and lots of bad reviews about the game. that's kinda sad. edit: btw, i saw a 104 version server in the server browser, maybe they are working on a update. i hope so.
I'm 100% with you dude. 100 Per Cent! You're absolutely correct, the difference between Emotional Robots and Game Mechanic Studios (High Flyer Death Defyer - high flyer? Pfft, I can think of some other names for it) is like night and day. Despite all the warnings I still went ahead and bought the iPad 2 version of HFDD. And yes, I was left massively disappointed. But disappointment quickly turned into disgust (too strong?) as a week later there has been absolutely zip from the developers to say they'll be backing their product - and their customers! Emotional Robots on the other hand have dealt with Warm Gun's similar issues in an entirely different fashion. And I for one commend them. Yes, Warm Gun is riddled with bugs and shortcomings, but like the equally pretty HFDD, there is stacks and stacks of potential here. Where I commend Emotional Robots however, is with their confidence-inspiring communications on these very virtual pages. Am I hugely disappointed with Warm Gun? Yes, you bet I am. However, there are two far more important (and appropriate) questions to be asked... Does Emotional Robots input here today reassure me of their commitment to their product? Yes, they do. And do I believe that ER will eventually deliver on the stacks of potential Warm Gun clearly has? Well I'm certainly happy to give them the benefit of the doubt for now at least! Thanks to their confidence-inspiring above posts, if ER really can turn this around, I for one am only too happy to sit tight and exercise a little patience, a little decorum.
