controls are super responsive in a way that you might get upset while swiping or aiming my gun is firing automatically and also the $&@#% LAG!!! EDIT: i used single stick controls and crashes a lot on my iPad 2 4.3.3 im fcked up!!!
Yes, it seems up run pretty well on my iTouch 3rd Gen, but there is still some lag. And it's already crashed once.
Yep, just might. Not surprising. I've had plenty of games run faster on my 3GS than my iPhone 4, thanks to the added strain created by Retina graphics...
Just played about 30 min worth online.....ugh it's horrible...Gun animation not working for duel pistols, controls are crap to the point where I'm shooting 90% of the time I don't want to, life doesn't seem consistent...I can empty an entire clip into some and they dont die and then I can one shot someone the next time...and I shot him in the leg....not the head...., don't know how much ammo u have, some granades or molitiovs are extremely delayed, framerate is good until the mad lag spikes....it's not because I was playing with someone in nz cause I'm in cali and I played with jojopet and Im pretty sure he's American lol. crashes a lot just to get the game going...took me 10 min just to be able to get to play multiplayer. Get stuck in areas sometimes and can't move for a long minute.... Game had potential if they would have spent the time to fix all these bugs before release.....very unprofessional release I must say....these problems can't be missed cause they severely stand out and the devs still decided to release it....bad bad joojoo.... Epic fail... Ok the pros....lol Graphics are nice, sweet game concept, ummm thats all I can think of at the moment. Verdict - don't buy untill the major bugs are fixed.
You're absolutely right that 10-15FPS is unacceptable and I'm sorry you've had to endure it. 3GS and ipad2 get much better performance, so this should be an easy config file fix. I'm aiming to have it patched along with many other things within a week.
Just finished CoB in 10 minutes exactly on my 4th gen. iPod. Closed everything, but didn't even restart the iPod. The visuals and sounds are nice. No crashes. Just had considerably poor framerate every now and then. The controls are a little odd as well. Will take the dive though. Don't want to miss out on the multiplayer fun. Hopefully, the performance won't be much worse. Please update the game with improvements on performance, GC, etc. Bought. Edit: Will come back with impressions.
Dedicated Servers As of right now, we have 50 dedicated servers available for WarmGun multiplayer, spread throughout North America and Europe. As you may already know, the server browser needs a major overhaul as it doesn't really support scrolling etc. This has been fixed in the current build, but will not hit the app store until our first update. For the time being, you should be able to find a server of choice by hitting the 'refresh' button until it appears. Sorry for the inconvenience! -Dusten
So, I'm in Australia and there's no servers in this area? Was about to buy the game when I saw this post. Being an online-only shooter, I'll pass and wait for MC3.
After playing around with COB, I must say, this game needs polish. -There needs to be an option to turn off the accelerometer. It keeps on screwing me up when I try to shoot a target. -I got sent into what I like to call "Blue Hell" after shooting one of the cardboard cutouts in the back on level 3 -There needs to be more music.
If the Australia servers are not up already, they will be within the next 24 hours. I'm not sure off-hand, as our hosting is handled by a third party.
For how long we waited for this game, I'm deff not impressed. I have it on iPhone4 and ipad2, the iPad is better but still a very unpolished game. I will wait to uninstall until update is released but as of right now I'm extremely disappointed.
It runs perfectly well on an iPad 2 -- a steady 30 FPS. No problem connecting to the servers and there seems to be little lag in the multiplayer. The controls are still a problem, though -- I'm playing with the single stick option (the only one that makes sense, IMO), but I find myself often firing by accident when trying to swipe to move the camera. Emptying your clip at the wrong moment can easily get you killed. The game doesn't keep a kill count, so it's hard to tell how far behind someone else you are. There are no stats that I can find, no leaderboards, no achievements -- I would expect that those are coming, since a multiplayer game without them seems to make no sense whatsoever. I haven't even noticed a time or kill count to keep track of how much longer a match is going to last: it's no wonder that I've seen so many people drop out. Anyone buying this for the single player bot mode -- don't bother, at least not for now. As other have remarked, the AI is fairly broken, though not necessarily hopeless. Sometimes they seem to behave logically, but often you find yourself standing in front of a bot that just won't move, or having a shaman or blacksmith switch to a melee weapon when they should just mow you down. As someone who spent hours playing Unreal Tournament in bot mode, I'm just not enjoying it very much in this game. Talking about the shaman -- their rifle is ridiculously huge, with a completely useless scope that just blocks your view. It's funny seeing a shaman enemy fire at you from the hip while you insist on holding the weapon to your face, Resident Evil style. There are other graphical glitches/oddities, most of which are minor but annoying. Overall the graphics and level design are good, though. I've had only one crash so far and it was in the serve selections screen. Without an achievement/leaderboard system, the game feels curiously incomplete. Other multiplayer games have launched with far more sophisticated infrastructures. As Ayjona put it, it's tough to recommend the game as is, unless you are interested in contributing to the developers continuing efforts.
Sorry to hear everyone that's having troubles with it-- it's running flawlessly on my iPhone 3GS, both CoB and WG, that is. Really love the game. The graphics, the guns, the characters, all awesome. Wish I could change the cross hairs, though. I can't see them worth crap (especially in CoB) and it makes aiming somewhat hard. Aside from this... I'm loving the game. Although I should note, I play namely CoB and Bots. Cheers.
Well, I've been playing it for about an hour online, then COB for about 20 minutes after that. I really could get into this game... But it's really hard to play. On my iPad2 it runs pretty well, no consistent lagging in FFA drags but it does skip pretty hard from time to time. My biggest 2 issues with it is the controls. It's not entirely horrible but needs a lot of polishing IMO. I'm with some of the others in that I end up firing sporadically for no apparent reason a lot of the time no matter what setting I'm on. And it doesn't save the control settings. That sucks. 2nd is that the multiplayer competition (disregarding bots) seems very jumpy and unstable. I see characters appearing then reappearing quite often and just generally moving in a staggered frame rate. Could be somewhat due to the poor controls lol Other than that I share a lot of the same issues with the game that others do. It has only crashed once on me, but it wasn't during gameplay, it was in the options menu via the main menu. I do like the game, and look forward to updates/fixes.
