As one of the beta testers I have to agree with this post. The COB release is an old out dated control scheme that feels much better in the 1.03 release of Warm Gun. Carnival of Bullets was supposed to be a demo of the engine/graphics and a sample of some of the weapons to be on the full version of Warm Gun. The developers (Emotional Robots) are really a cool bunch of guys and they are serious with updates they have planned. We have seen footage of things to come (I can't go into detail because of NDA) but I can assure you these guys were rolling updates on skype every 2 days. We had dedicated Beta testers and the developers were listening and fine tuning as needing. Some stuff was not made into the final version of Warm Gun, but rest assure this game will get the updates that will make this a game to keep on your Idevice. For those that have downloaded the 1.0 version by accident and are still experiencing bots standing around can you please uninstall the game, Soft reset and re-download the game. We (the beta Testers) have done this to make sure when we update beta builds to not have any traces of the old build on your device. As far as the build we have, there are no signs of bots standing around glitched out not doing anything. Matter of fact last Bot I came across knocked me out with a sledge hammer. (was rather funny since it was the build they introduced bots swapping weapons was so used to the Blacksmith running around with his Gatling gun all the time.) I guess what I'm trying to say is with the exception of lower end devices that are trying to run this game. You should have a nice fast game play with no crashes. Bots should give you a decent challenge and the players online will definitely give you one. There are many ways to kill a person online not just guns. There will be more maps, more weapons, more characters, more updates ,fixes and everything else. See you guys in the game in a few minutes.. oh and a Tip, if you see someone named dglow online watch out for him. He is good. (no that is not me)
Apparently theres no reason to even leave feedback if its just going to be downplayed by people associated with the game. Very low framerate on ipad, crashing, and ai does stand around at random times. Some of the guns take up way too much screen space. Gun fires randomly and gets stuck. Pretty much everything else people have been saying. I doubt anyone is still using old version... This is all current release criticism. I love the style, the theme, and the graphics and am sill looking forward to the game improving but as it is right now it is unplayable on my device.
I downloaded 1.03 initially, and bots still stand around (see my impressions on previous page), and the game still runs sluggishly (sometimes lagging, sometimes just running at a low framerate) on my iPhone 4. To reiterate: buy this if you seek to support Emotional Robots in their struggle to turn this into the game it has so far appeared to be (for that game, a polished, smooth Warm Gun, would indeed be awesome). But I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anyone looking for a complete experience at this very moment.
they're out use your ipod/iphone to click the links on the article, im in US and am downloading both now
Game Impressions wow. I really want to like this game. The characters, weapons, design. graphics....everything is great! except the frame rate. I'm guessing its in the 10-15fps range. it's so low, that its not playable. I'm using an iphone4 and a 1g iPad. Both are incapable of running this game. anyone play it on an ipad2? i would suggest an immediate update that lowers the graphic quality, but increases the frame rate! if this game ran at 25-30+ fps, you'd have a real winner on your hands! as it stands right now, I may even ask for a refund from apple
Both Warm Gun and Warm Gun: Carnival of Bullets play fine on my iPhone 3G on iOS 5 GM. Though I've only played for a few minutes and single player offline on Warm Gun. I'll report back once I play more (and online) and once I've installed the game on my iPod Touch 4G (running iOS 4.3.3). Note: Just as Warm Gun started (In-game, single player offline) I noticed some lag, but that's to be expected surely. And it was brief.
warm gun cob i like it it hasnt crashed the frame rate is good the only thing i want to change is the controls i wish you could just tap the fire button to fire its hard to look around while shooting up the place but other than that i cant wait for the full version
Based on everything I've read in the thread so far, it seems like performance on the third generation devices may possibly exceed performance on 4G devices and the iPad 1. Is this true?
