ohhhhhh i see. dennisg said that they're still working on it a few post ago. so that means it has'nt been submitted yet, right? probably a few more months?
Delay the game long enough the hype will be over!! Come on Dev talk to the ppl who will be purchasing and tell us whats happening
If a game gets approved by Apple, does it mean the developer HAS to let it be released or can they hold off indefinitely until they want to release it? Maybe they're waiting for the launch of the new phone?
Well whatever the hold up is I can wait a bit I guess. I'd rather have the game totally ready than almost ready and we are all waiting for an update for some bug or crash. Not to mention how awesome the new iPhone will be and we can start playing these on big screens with a handy apple tv. I really hope this game nails the multiplayer fun because that's all it has going for it. Curious why they didn't make any storymode and only a free bullet gallery.
This is what Chris at STP said about it. Evidently Dark Meadow is gonna be released tonight. Chris_R 58 minutes ago I asked the developers, and they said they can't give us any release date information for Warm Gun, but they have "something cooking" and will have news for us very soon. It sounded like they're adding new features. I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I hear anything from them.
Adding new features as in... They didn't submit the game for approval and are still working on it? Or it was rejected? Odd. Oh well.
was really hyped for this one, so I could alternate between multiplayer on Warm gun and Dark Meadow and not complete DM too soon, but now with nothing else I'll just blast through DM.... Not that that is too bad a thing...
No it is not a story mode, it originally was pitched as some sort of free carnival type shooting gallery to get a feel of the game and maybe throw in some sort of collectible nonsense and earn achievements I'm guessing. Lame as that sounds, this delaying of release is even LAMER! without some sort of guidance here.
totally lost interest in this one... thinking I'll just blow the $$ I was saving for it on Dark Meadow...
Agreed. The hype engine has just left the station. I might pick it up later but if I have no money im not going to be rushing anytime soon to go get a giftcard for it.
Yeah... Actually, now that I think about it, all I've ever seen of "real" gameplay has been merely screenshots... All the trailers and that are just like 3 seconds of gameplay interspersed with cinematic trailer nonsense. I don't know. Just seems a little .. Odd.
thanks for the reminder ,thats what i noticed when i watched all the trailers i could find on it,they all looked the same, and i looked them all up . maybe it was a general idea for a game and theyre still working on? making it look as good as the "theoretical" trailer? anywho, dark meadow get my duckets oy. i'm writing this one off until much later...when its come out and had a legit review....
I agree with both sides here, on the one hand I feel many are being impatient and if it has been submitted to apple already, then it is out of the devs hands effectively, they have worked for months incredibly hard to bring the game to us and we should be appreciative of that. That being said, all they need to do is either take a minute out of their day to post on here to let everyone know that it is still undergoing the admissions process, or take 30 seconds to tweet about the current state of affairs, which is hardly a big ask when they know how many people are looking forward to this game...
Yep, it's official: http://twitter.com/#!/WarmGunGame/status/122037436476956672 Great news, don't you think?
Hey guys! Epic has been gracious enough to give us a UDK Showcase, so make sure you read up on it here! Sorry for leaving you in the dark for like 2 weeks. I'll give you a quick recap of what went down and why we haven't responded. We submitted to Apple on the 22nd, and they approved Warm Gun around the 1st of October and Carnival of Bullets around the 3rd (give or take a day for both). As most of you already know, Emotional Robots is independent and Warm Gun is our first game as a company. While we've chosen to remain independent, we have over time sought out advice from much larger, more established game developers and publishers. These advisers have helped us mold Warm Gun into what you see today and have never stopped giving feedback. So when we announced we had put Warm Gun in for approval and they heard that Warm Gun and Carnival of Bullets had been approved, all of our advisers unanimously said "Hold on a second!" After speaking with them we found that each had their own reasons for telling us to wait, whether it involved the marketing, the release timing or even the game itself. We decided to heed their advice, as it hasn't failed us in the past, and hold our horses for a very brief time. The official release date is now October 13th. We've been taking advantage of this extra time, too. Since our initial submission, we've made some badass upgrades to the server side of the game. Again, we apologize for the confusion, but we know the wait is going to be more than worth it. Zach
