Couldn't have said it better myself. Better graphics capabilities than a Wii, holding the immersive 9.7 in. Screen has left my 360 destitute. I find iOS gaming, the deeper titles at least to be as engrossing as my console.
I guess my point was that it is a shame the graphics are so polished while the animations seem to have had considerably less effort put in to them. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but from what I can gather better animations aren't going to take a huge amount more power. The fact that the graphics are so good actually just make it stand out even more. It just looks wrong. Was probably a bad idea to mention the PC gaming, I didn't intend to compare them. Even compared to other iOS games I feel the animation in this lacking. It's difficult to put to words exactly why I feel like this is a bigish deal. The member above me mentions the immersive 9.7" screen on the iPad, well for me in a game with this level of graphics, those animations are definitely immersion breaking. You know what, I'm just waffling at this point. =P I've said as much as I'm going to be able to put to words. Disregard the whole PC thing (and 360 mentioned in the previous post) before we end up with pages of iDevice vs console posts. Nasty.
It's all good Spleen There's a few reasons as to why you might have these feelings regarding animations - most of them being technical in nature. The majority of the reasons can just be chalked up to "device limitations". There is room for improvement though as new engine releases and third party support aid in resolving those limitation issues. The other thing I'll ask that you consider is that most of this footage is captured playing versus AI (bots). AI is one of the last things we're working on and it still needs polished. Sometimes the bots make split decisions that are so fast you don't notice (for example, they decided to go left then decided again to go straight). The only way you might recognize this is a twitch in animations (but they're blended together, so you'd just see the arms move briefly during a run animation). There's a few other technical things regarding the animations that should grant improved quality upon release. The animations on PC are 99% the same as on iOS. Like, we used the same animations, and just adjusted them slightly to fit a rig with less bones. But me telling you this simply isn't enough. I understand we'll need to prove it to you, as was the case with the iOS trailer in the first place. We don't mind the challenge
Everything looks amazing to me!!! I believe this game will kick serious butt at the app store and will have quite a following. To think that iOS gaming has come this far, and we'll be able to enjoy console style gaming on our iphones. I'm just blown away from the maps to the characters, and then throw in the multiplayer. Really what more can you ask for!! I can't see much to improve on. This is going to be a blast to play
yup, can't believe iOS games have reached this point... it's amazing what developers are doing with the engines and iOS software+hardware...
Read on Twitter, that hopefully with the Apple approval process it should be released end of August. I'm hoping it's sooner but who knows??
No news on the devs twitter of Facebook, I'd say we're looking at last week of August at the earliest.
Any title that quotes a Beatles song is alright with me. I wonder why he thinks that? The site has fairly recent news and comments.
That's o.k. I believe that March of Heroes, and Desert zombie last stand should be out in the next couple weeks, so we can all get our shooter fixes!!
A release date is in the works just be a little patient, but my comment on the last week in august being a great week for ios gamers i wasnt saying that this game will release then ,but like i said the last week in august will be a great week for ios cause of many different games
