Looks like late July- most likely early august until release ,it almost seems like forever with all the anticipation & hype for this game but don't get your hopes up for a July release they are a very slow paced company

I'm really excited about this game coming out. There hasn't been a good FPS out since Mc2 , Nova 2. I'm sick of all these kiddie games being at the top of the charts. Hopefully Warmgun will be out this month.

Agree with you completely. Most games on the AppStore look like something I'd buy for my kid niece.. Gotta admit she plays fun games though :D

    But This game looks awsome!

Pre-orders just went up for the desktop version, and it looks just as awesome :) I've good in mind to actually purchase it, even if we won't be able to cross-platform play...

The reason these "kiddie games" are at the top of the charts is because the mass of iPhone gamers are looking for the casual time killer. Not necessarilly the hardcore FPS games, RTS games, RPGs, etc.

The developers know what's sells on the AppStore and that just so happens to be cute birds with deformed wings, and pissed off birds who hate eggs. Wll at least currently this is the case. Though right now the charts are topped with EA games due to the massive sale they had. Moreover the casual type games from EA. Like scrabble and monopoly. Casual/birds = win/profit.

Tiny tower is my new favorite game of all time and it captures iOS gaming very well. The free to play sale mechanic works quite well too, thou I purchased some DLC cause I felt I was robbing the dev blind.

Well I agree you with you to some extent. Their are a lot of casual gamers that are looking for a quick fix but if you look at some of the killer games in the past such as COD zombies, Mc2, Infinity Blade. They have been in the top gross sales for so long.

Most people I know are willing to spend the money on a great FPS game and their are a lot of good ones coming up, WarmGun, ShadowGun, Desert Zombies last stand, March of Heroes. Once they come out, I'm willing to bet they will be at the top of the charts.

IMO, I have no interest in Pet Hotel, Angry Birds Seasons or a Sims type game. Give me a good FPS or a TPS like dead space and I`m happy!!

Ayjona, I'm a forum member at Warmgun. I purchased the Pre order for PC. I recommend getting it, it's going to be a great game:)

    I don't think so...
This looks great, despite the trailer's sound being rather poor (no SFX, the music cuts off abruptly at the end). I'm digging the post-apocalyptic/western/steampunk themes that are going on! I hope the final product doesn't disappoint!

Its not about games like angry birds being casual that makes them sucsessful its because they're cheap. If games like this are sold for a dollar they would be just as popular.

The cheapness of games like Angry Birds definately makes them popular. I'm glad multiplayer fps games are not a buck. The devs would make no money off them. Especially now, with games being run on unreal engine. Were going to be getting console style games on iOS for 7 bucks, that's a pretty good deal!!

I was referencing the two posts above mine.

    On a side note:

I have 3 younger brothers, and as far as I know they are not a member on TouchArcade, nor do they own any iPhones, iPods, or iPads, other than the shuffle and Classic. So "bro" is not an appropriate term to use here. Maybe co-member or guy, or man, or someother adjective used to describe males you do not know.

    :p

To an extent. You make a good point, but lets say for example, a mother just got an iPhone for her birthday. She has never played a video game in her life. She opens up the AppStore and sees that N.O.V.A 2 is on sale for $0.99 (As an example) and Angry Birds is $0.99. She reads both game descriptions. Which one do you think she will pick?

Most of the people I know who own iPhones (a good 200+ or so) are new to the iPhone scene. Some play video games, the majority do not. Those who play video games on consoles generally don't want to bog down their phones with the likes of FPS, RPGs, RTSs, etc. They tend to buy the casual games over the non-casual regardless of price. Same goes for those who don't play console games.

The fact is not many people wanna sit for hours upon end playing on a 3.5 inch screen playing a Call of Duty knockoff. Especially when they can do that on a giant television and the latest generation consoles.

Price is a factor, but gameplay is on par with it. They both contribute heavily to the amount of downloads, and when it comes down too it, the casual games generally do better. If you compile a list of all the games that have been in the top 10, I guarantee that the majority of them would fall within the casual genre/sub-genre.

Not everyones mindset is like ours (the members of toucharcade).

Thanks, I'll check that out! The sound struck me as poor, so I was just a little worried about the final product, but I'm not anymore! :D

Do u think this will release in July or more likely in august ,a timeline would be great info for the fans even if its not an exact release date but at least the month would be good to know -but most likely your gonna run from my question & not answer cause the most important thing people are waiting for is iOS gameplay video and a release date

I (along with everyone else) am aware of this. But personally, I like to see games that push the iOS platform to the limits. And games like the angry unflyable chicken just don't interest me. I did not buy an iPhone 4 just to chuck chickens through the air and slash at pamagranets and tomatoes. Admittedly, some of those games are great time killers and offer some amusement but I for one will not pay a buck for the chicken as long as I can buy dead space or MC2 for nearly the same price. But that's just me. I have to see a game that wows me with good graphics, fun gameplay, and minimum frustration. I lean a lot more toward buying games with fun gameplay and hard work put into it. And this game seems like it's got what it needs to be a good console-quality experience for the iPhone. I am very excited to see just what the AppStore looks like near the start of 2012 with all these new quality games coming soon. This game is definitely on my list to check out soon as it releases.

Btw 60 bucks for a new release on a "giant tv" is still a bad deal, at least to me, when I can pay 20 bucks for 5 different titles on my iPod that offer the same amusement.. And portable. I can play console style games on road trips so long as I have battery in my car and a working car charger for my iPod. I no longer feel like I should even pay more than 20$ for any game.. Ever. I am also kinda cheap...
