I'm using it to see how it goes it's not bad although you do seem to get crits fairly often with those 30% weapons. Just had my first chance at an epic I noticed as possible reward and ended up with common instead. At least the way they do it with shards it'll be something to celebrate when you get a new unit unlocked as it takes a long time. Also I noticed a daily reward when I launched the game on my iPad but they haven't been happening on my phone I've had 0 have you all been getting daily rewards? Just got my bronze arena chest which was nice having a green cavalry banner in it.
I have only been playing on one device (iPhone 6+ iOS 8.1.4) and I have noticed the same. I have gotten a daily reward only once despite playing numerous days.
Gold seems to be needed. Because of that, I just decided to go full-on for crushing victories. Essentially, I improve my units when I can. So far, my crushing victory rate is likely between 90 and 95 percent. I can't speak to how much that might suffer if I were more discerning with my upgrades; it's just the strat I've settled on. Pretty fun right now. The game will probably stay linear for a while. I'm looking forward to the higher-level tactics that will hopefully be there later on.
Hey guys! This game is awesome! If you like strategy games go and grab it. it is not an bland grinder! See you on the battlefield
There are things I miss on this game with some changes I think would improve things. I wish the battle told you from the very start how many turns you had for a crushing victory instead of telling you after your first round. Also given what the gameplay is like being similar to chess but more simple really I'd love to be able to see where each enemy piece can move on their next turn just the distance. That way you could plan more tactically where to place your units each turn. Still enjoying the game my land unlocks are all like 16-30 hours at the minute and I played that much yesterday I actually ran out of stuff to do sadly : ( but I feel like the IAP is extremely fair....although I think they should work at it a little as there's nothing that makes me want to buy it. I picked up the daily gems IAP to support the dev as I like the game but there's nothing I want to spend my gems on.
Some of the army units and their abilities you can unlock further on sound awesome. It'll be hard to decide who to keep in my team.
You can quit and re-enter without any penalty as far as I can see just to find out how many rounds for crushing. But yeah, just let us know before we start the battle... .
Completely agree with you on showing us the crushing turn limit prior to placing units. Also they need to fix the daily rewards; I am convinced they are broken. However, they already let you see enemy movement areas. Just tap on a unit and the orange outline shows their range for the following turn (though it does not take things like swamps into account).
Ah I didn't think about that even though I've done it a few times accidentally. The daily rewards must be broken as I've only ever had 1 which is how I know they exist at least. But I'm missing out on loads they had shards and everything on the list. Just got my silver reward chest, hoping I can reach gold and platinum but do still have 11 days to go.
anyone know if they are planning to do Icloud for this game? I would love to flip it back and forth between my iphone/ipad
I played this in soft launch for a long time and the F2P antics are fair...up until about 3/4 of the way through the 1st continent then it gets out of control quickly sadly cause the game was an absolute blast
How so? There doesn't seem to be anything to buy you can't get anyway and even if you purchased the gem ship it's just pot luck items you could get anyway.
Strategy Tips Finally got time to post some tips I collected over the last few days. In no particular order: - Unlocking areas: I alternate between unlocking story areas (north part of the map) and PvP ones (south). Plan a bit, e.g. unlocking a 12-hour area is good for doing overnight. - PvP: Gives pretty good rewards, but also has high chances of leaving at least one unit dead. So tread with care; don't expose your units needlessly, pull a wounded one back when in doubt. I am currently at 127 Trophies. If I can keep the current rate up, I should make it into Diamond division. - Crushing Victory: Except situationally for PvP - where you get an additional trophy - it's not worth going for one at all cost in the long run. You get enough Gold even with normal victories. Better to keep your units alive, and not suffer from the long recovery times for dead units (~1 hour for me currently). - Hang back on turn 1: This ties in with the above. No need to expose your units needlessly and get them killed right on turn 1. When in doubt, it's better to forfeit a Crushing Victory, take a few turns longer, but keep them all alive. - Ads: Limited to a few per day, so choose wisely when you fully heal a dead unit by watching an ad. - Gold: Easy to gain, easy to spend. I just spent 8k to get a 4-star banner that's a long time away to use, and still have 5k in the bank. I usually empty the Merchant of anything useful, and buy 5x Merchant Ship whenever the free one comes around. - Weapons & Armor: Don't waste Gold on upgrading items you'll never use. I find the mixed armors (physical & magic resistance) underwhelming in the phys res department, and go with pure phys res on all my units. Experimenting with a mag res armor on my Archers, as they got a really good one. But so far there simply aren't enough enemy Mages around to make a mixed - or even pure - mag res armour worth it. The "Grubak's Nasty X" weapons from Grubak are the best I found so far. 30% crit chance is hard to beat. While the extra crit damage is not that high (lists 180, but scores around double that), a crit doubles your regular damage; I've seen my Guards do 5000 damage with a crit, which is pretty much insta-kill for anything on my current level. Much better to somewhat reliably get double damage every third/fourth hit, than 1000 extra damage every 10th hit. The Lightning Sword I find quite underwhelming, even 100 extra damage is nothing when units have several thousand HP. - Shards & the Merchant: If you bought Crystals (e.g. via the 30-day IAP), it's worth it to selectively buy Shards from the Merchant. Sometimes you get one on Sale; if it fits your upgrading strategy, take it. But refrain from going on a shopping spree: while Crystal supply seems ok so far, they don't hand them out like candy either. I bought a few that brought either a locked unit closer to getting unlocked, or to get an extra jump for an existing unit that is close to unlocking the next tier. - Unlocking: Takes ages, be patient. I only have my Guards on 2 Stars. Everyone else is halfway or less on the way. Got 5 Shards for the King's Guard, and 8 for the Xataka Pikes; I expect to unlock my 6th unit this weekend at the latest. - Bandit missions, the ones with the skull symbol: When you get those, always grab the Cart. Also plan a bit. The Cart frequently gives Shards, so best give it to the unit with the most Shards. - Kill feeding: Pick one unit to level up, then try to feed it as many kills as possible. Rinse, repeat. Much better than spreading the XP around and have 5 units that are halfway to the next level. Also note that just attacking gives some XP, too. So if you can make multiple attacks - say because it's the last enemy unit - before going for the kill, do so. - XP Potions: I fed maybe dozen to my units, to get them all leveled up to 5 (I think it was, when the color changes from green to blue). Now I save all I get, so I can boost a new unit - when I finally unlock one - right away. - Mages: Glasscannons, but will quickly become your primary damage dealers. Keep them well-protected and out of harm's way first, then swoop in for kills. E.g. mine one-shotted Grubak on fight level 7. When upgrading with items, I make them a priority for more HP and more soldiers in the unit. - Dewport Guard: When you attack one and bring it down to low numbers, make sure to kill it in the same turn. Their Retaliation skill does brutal damage when they are almost dead. That's it for now, thanks for watching
Have you still been upgrading your units as you get items? Mine are still all on 16 troops and greens with 1 star, getting close to 2 stars on some and I have piles of upgrade items but unsure about spending them yet. Although I think I'll need to as many of my levels now have 4 skulls on them. Also my guys are rank 6 now but haven't changed to blue from green? I'm using the archer Mage defence gear too as it seems far better than the other one for them. I'm currently on 146 trophies hoping I make it too.
Then it was level 7 when they turn blue (indicating they can now use blue items), not level 5. I didn't note that down as I leveled them all just before going to sleep Spend your upgrades, no need to wait. I use every upgrade item right away. If you have stuff piled up for upgrading, plan ahead a bit. E.g. give the Mages and Archers just enough HP and soldiers so they don't die in one hit; focus on damage dealing for them, especially for the Mages. And try to fill up a row on a unit first, instead of spreading the stuff around. The extra boni from completed rows add up pretty quick. It seems that in the fights I get now (halfway to level 8 for everyone), my Archers hit another wall in the damage they deal - they are falling behind again. But of course you need them to deal with pesky Mages, and occasionally to shut down an area with the Fire Arrows: the damage those do isn't much, I find the movement denial way more important. Paired with the Guards' "Stop" passive skill, it gives you some nice options to control the flow of battle. And especially my Pikemen - with the Cavalry second - could need more HP & soldiers, they die too easily. The Guards are the most resilient of the bunch, but they could do a bit more damage. A lot of times I need to wait for them to take a few serious hits, so they can dish it back out with Retribution.
You go green when you get 1star and blue when 2star. Levels only affect your potential upgrades I think. Right now I have 4 greens and my mage is a blue. Looking forward to getting my 6th army soon... but it looks like it might take some while esp for a f2p player.
All my units are blue, but only my Guards are 2star, so that's not it. Afaik level affects which items and upgrades you can use, doesn't have a direct impact on stats. I just got my 6th army - Pikes of Xataka - thanks to a lucky find of 2 Shards in a Bandit Wagon I'll pay attention when they switch to blue, and report back. On lvl 6 they are still green. Oh, and now I'm broke, spent almost 10k to upgrade them
