This game is holding a fully cocked Dirty Harry 44 magnum at my head saying Go on punk make my day and buy me .

I have no choice but to buy the game and expansions at 11:00 pm tomorrow ;) This does play on iPod touch 5g I hope :0

I too loved dark souls !!!

    This seems unlikely..

Converting to GDP that means the IAPS would be more expensive than the game itself.

An educated guess would be £1.99 for the expansion and £0.99 for characters.

Not massively keen on the purchasable gold thats visible on the screenshots but know I won't be getting any.

For the purpose of expectations management, I would be careful with the comparisons to Dark Souls. This is not the same kind of game at all.

    Just saying :)

I think the numbers in the gamereactor review are right. There is a screenshot where you can see: 32 Dk for each warrior and 39 Dk for the expansion. And the author confirms that in the text. I would expect such prices.

I've never played the board game or any board game like it, but from my understanding, the actual game is like Hunters, but focused on close melee combat, magic, and fantasy/roleplaying elements and you know what enemies are in room upon entering rather having a fog of war.

I was comparing it to Dark Souls in terms of atmosphere and the sense of tension, where any unexplored area is a big scary unknown so you have to play cautious and smart or else you die.

Any other non-spoilery tips or info to those like me who have never played the board game or have never even seen a tabletop RPG? Like what exactly we should expect? Or have the previews done an adequate job?

I think the previews did a good job in describing what to expect from the game. Best one was that on Pocket Tactics. My advise to you would be: just buy the game and jump in. You won't regret it. And just leave yourself a little suprise - isn't it boring to know exactly what awaits you?

I'll hope the Danish App store is very expensive then, because that moves the IAPs from an instsabuy to a big maybe. £12 for them all plus the game on top seems very expensive to me considering the games confirmed at £2.99 :(

Well, this game is supposed to be an accurate digital version of the board game right? I checked out the actual board game online and it was just confusing and insanely complex. My only board game experience is stuff like Chess or Scrabble.

But I mean that those who have played game know what to expect, compared to those like me who have played Hunters or didn't even what tabletop RPG was until like yesterday.

Whatever the price may be, I think the game is absolutely worth it. Just my opinion. And for the initially £2.99 you get hours of fun.

I never played the board game, but I played Hunters and Hunters 2. And I had absolutely no problems with WHQ, there is nothing to worry. This is not a super complex boardgame conversion. It's a videogame that is based on a boardgame.

Didn't the devs say that main campaign was like 25 to 30 hours? That's an insane amount of content for a $4.99 game. So let's say that the both the expansion and characters pack are at minimum $4.99 each. That's about $15.

The Walking Dead was awesome, but only about 8-9 hours long and that was at least $20+. Many full price console games don't provide that much content

So I think it's relative. $4.99 for 30 hrs? Maybe $15+ total for who knows how many more hours? I think that's an incredible deal and it's a quality game for an known established developer

It could be twice that price and I'd say its still going to be worth the money,
Trying finding a copy of the board game for that price?
Also since when did £12 become to expensive for a video game? Then you have to add into this the future expansions which will also cost money I'll bet.
Console games are about 4x the price of this plus the extras and most console games these days give you a short story mode in a few hours then your done.

ONLY 29 1/2 hours and it will be mine muhahahahah

    So you've played it too.
    - How close can we zoom in? Always love to zoom close and see the details and animations better
    - In Hunters 2, you could get skills for your mercs that would split into distinct trees (Scouting vs Survival, Combat vs Vengeance, etc.) Does Quest have a similar skill tree set-up, branching skill sets?

I should probably clarify that I don't mind paying £3 for the extra playable content, it's charging the same for each extra character that I think is a bit steep.

The zoom factor is more or less identical to Hunters 2. WHQ is based on the same engine as Hunters 2 (Taurus engine as far as I know).

I did a small research on Danish Appstore pricing and I chose Frozen Synapse which is around the same speculated price range. Plus, it's easier to calculate percentages with bigger numbers you know ;)

    So here it goes:

Frozen Synapse on US Appstore: 7 usd
Frozen Synapse on Danish Appstore converted to usd: 7.7 usd

So it's about 10% more expensive, so pricing is most likely gonna be 6 usd for expansion and 5 usd each for characters..

    This, this and this!!!
    Don't worry!
It's first and foremost a videogame, very accessible IMHO (Rodeo is very good at this).

I think Vogelmann experience will be the most widespread.

Also, as he said....don't ask everything!!!
It's almost like 'playing' a game watching a YouTube playthrough!!!

Is there a good amount of lore built into the game (ala Ravenmark)? I know nothing of the Warhammer universe.

Ditto, any worldbuilding stuff? Like books or scrolls, item descriptions with little details, etc.? Like soldat, I know nothing about the fantasy Warhammer universe. My only Warhammer knowledge is that there it originated space marines and has guys in insanely big power armor and chainsaw swords

Ok I've got another question lol . Am I clear to understand that if you die you return to town and have to start the dungeon over ? Also I gather you lose your loot , but does your experience and lvl carry over ? And do you lose weapons and armor if you bite the dust ?

Thx for all the info guys :) I can't wait to delve in . I'm hoping it fleshes out the lore some too , I don't know much about the Warhammer world either . Bronx I think that's Warhammer 40k or something :)
