Hey pitta, I'd like to know about save games, for example how many games can you have at a time, for different party's or different difficulty levels. Thanks.
Are there dungeon "events" like traps and random encounters (like in the boardgame)? Are Settlements similar to the boardgame (character specific locations, etc.)?
Is there an option to just play a random dungeon without it being part of the main quest and if you buy the skaven dlc does that mix its rooms enemies etc into the random dungeons?
Hey Pitta, where are you? The guys want answers... ;-) I hope you don't mind if I answer a few questions. - The installed size of the latest beta is 793 MB. - The level cap is level 6 - I'm pretty sure that this is only temporary. - Equipment is often dropped from enemies in the dungeons, but you can buy it as well in the settlements. And then there are special random quests from heroic equipment. - You can mix the heroes for quests as you like. The quests are played with up to four warriors. The Rest of the team stays outside and wait for the survivors to come out. - There are three slots for three different save games at a time.
Thanks birdman! Is it true that characters have 12 equipment slots or did I hear it wrong on the gameplay video posted earlier?
Omg this sounds fantastic . As someone who loves all types of RPGs I think this will be right up my alley. Although I never really played any physical board games, some of my friends really got into them and spent loads of money on figurines. Would you guys recommend I play the hunters games to get a feel for this one? And which one, hunters 2? I'm really getting excited though And monkey and vovin, I feel exactly the same way about grinding.
@kurtalb Yes, there are random events and encounters in the dungeons. @SirFobos You can play as much random dungeons as you want. The Skaven enemies will only appear in the dlc-area, but there are random dungeons, too.
Whoa whoa, let's see!!!!! Size is about 800 Mb. 31 (really nice) achivements so far (nice in the sense you achieve them actually playing...not all that kill 1000 critters crap). Level cap is actually 6. You will achieve that actually playing the game normally...I found the game very well balanced and perfectly paced. Keep in mind that while the main campaigns quests are usually 'fixed' and have certain level requirements (just as advice) the other ones have encounters scaled to your level...this is particularly thrilling and TRAGIC in hardcore mode You can buy equipment in settlements. Each encounter in dungeons drop variable loot...and some dungeons have in the target room cool special loot. You can forget about the main campaigns and just wander about the world in search for ancient artifacts (I LOVE this thing). Your party consist in every character you possess (the 4 initial ones plus the eventual additional ones)....they are always togheter BUT when they enter a dungeon, where you can bring just four. You can mix and match as you wish...you can equip even the 'non active' characters in settlements too. You can have up to 3 ongoing different games concurrently (all synced in iCloud). There are many events...both in dungeons and while moving across the map. I've witnessed a great deal of bad things happen g to my characters, but being raped by a group of Orc Warchiefs. But I'm totally expecting that in next expansion As for the inventory, each characters has 12 slots, color coded (4 each) where you can put normal, precious and epic items. The party share a common stash. Now the most difficult one. Is this just Hunters reskinned? No, absolutely. While if you played (and loved) Hunters you will be absolutely at home in no time, the game plays tactically differently (here Rodeo really captured the spirit of the boardgame). Not to mention it is IMHO an order of magnitude better in evey compartment. I'm sure I'm saying nothing new to people familiar with the boardgame, but in the close and claustrophobic inner dungeons of the Old World....concepts like order of moving, distance between characters, formations to counterattack possible ambushes and such similar things are the core of the game. Will I move my Marauder first to the centre of the door opening, trying to deathblow those 3 aligned enemies, but doing so blocking the other fighter, or do I circumvent them to go for the shaman, risking of being pinned next turn but having the opportunity to get the others close? You explore one tile at time, every time waiting for which kind of enemies will aim for your heads. While you in Hunters usually (me at least) scattered your characters to uncover the most of the map and see the enemies, here it's the exact opposite...you will keep the party sticked togheter, each one covering their comrades backs for any evenience, trying to et past the ordes of enemies between you and the target room.
- 800mb fully installed? Or am I misunderstanding? - Can you explain how we explore the world? Someone else said its not open world exactly. So do you just pick a spot from an overmap? Or do you actually get to travel? - Can you actually walk around these settlements? Or is it all menu based? - Does new armor and gear have cosmetic changes on your characters? - How varied/unique are the dungeon designs? Is all underground passages or are there themed areas as you explore the map (like icy tombs to the north, etc.)? - Any types of gameplay besides combat like puzzles, traps, etc.? - New Game plus? - How's iPhone 4 performance?
Big thanks for all the answers. Just 1 more question if poss. Is it possible to have a team of all the same type of heroes. (Like in hunters I could have a full party of snipers) so is it possible to have four dwarves? Thanks again.
Nope. Your team is predetermined. (4 chars from the start or 3 alternatives as IAP). Dungeons get a bit samey. Loot shows on your chars with some great animations as well (eg if your marauder is equipped with sword and bow, he will put the sword to the ground before taking his bow to shoot). Ipad Mini performance is great. Settlements are menu based. I just finished a rather lenghty review. Go nuts and Google translate if you feel like it. http://www.gamereactor.dk/anmeldelser/165081/Warhammer+Quest/
800 Mb installed. It's not free roaming in the Elder Scroll sense. You wander about the world selecting your destination (a near settlement or dungeon). Settlements are menu based. Loot is visible on your characters...to the point that I have searched specific loot just for show Dungeons, as in the boardgame, are formed by a fixed set of tiles, but there is some variation and there are some very cool unique locations sometimes. Gameplay is mostly combat, but there are some choices and some different variations (last dungeons in particular).
Thank You both for sharing your experience with game. I haven't been this excited for a game since the last elder scrolls was released. The level cap is my only concern, I thought it would be 9 or 10.
Thank you. I never played the board game so my only point of comparison is Hunters 2. So about dungeon crawling: on my PS3, some of my favorite games are Demons' Souls and Dark Souls. You have to be very careful and cautious, being overconfident can be easily get you killed, and the whole atmosphere is oppressive tension. Is that how Quest is? Oh, and do you know or maybe heard of how performance and visuals are on iPhone 4?
