Hope it's out soon. At least Frozen Synapse is out in a couple of days which should be epic and tide me over till this comes out.
Hi all, My first post on TA forums here but I've been following it for a long time. I'm as excited as you all are for this game. So much, that I feel guilty for being this much hyped. Aged 33, I feel like a little fanboy all over. The biggest problem here is that Rodeo isn't doing enough PR IMHO. I'm pretty much sure that this game is gonna rock like hell but information about it is so scarce on the net. I'm refreshing 4-5 news sources all the time in hopes of learning something new about this game without success. I started to follow pitta (not a dev, mind you) on twitter hoping for a few words about the beta. As a hardcore gamer, I've never done something like this for any game in history. Is this because: a) the game is so awesome? b) they aren't promoting this masterpiece enough? I think both and being this close to release, we all need a steady stream of info rolling out!
Yeah, I can't wait to play this game. I just hope I have spare time after all these great board games are released
Just found a new article on boardgamegeek: "My week with Warhammer Quest" http://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/19411/my-week-with-warhammer-quest I haven't read it yet, thought I would post this here first.
Did they? Great! Now I'm going to spoil everything! Just kidding! But I have a feeling that WHQ-time is nearly there. Just a little more patience!
Speaking of patience...there hasn't been much news lately, and I needs me some Warhammer...any of you fine folks have a guess as to release time? I am praying and making pagan sacrifices that it is released by the 5th of June, since my unit is going on a month long field exercise...I will be able to have my phone, but definitely no wifi to download WHQ if it come out while I am in the woods...
I guess we won't be getting our paws on this one before june unfortunately, even if they submit the game to Apple today (you know the submission process may take up to 2 weeks). So, beta guys... What do you think about the current state of the game regarding bugs, polish etc? Did the rodeo guys talk about the end of beta phase yet?
Unfortunately, the "beta guys" can't really tell us very much. I think we're just going to have to wait until Rodeo Games makes an announcement. I was hoping for WQ to be released by next weekend (I have a four day weekend), but that isn't going to happen. I have a week off in early July, so as long as it's out by then, I'll still be happy. I'm just contenting myself with playing Bard's Tale, Ace Patrol, Talisman Prologue and Eclipse. Lots of good games out there, but I'm still really anticipating WQ.
Be patient (I know...I know...) It will be worth it (if you are like me, that is...it's all obviously imho). After an insane amount of hours I'm still greatly enjoying it (and belive me...when I say insane amount, I really mean it). I haven't touched a single game since the beta started, despite having bought some great games I was anticipating too. But I really can't play anything else if I'm on my iPad. When I'm not, I'm singing the main theme in my mind. I found the game that great (to my surprise too...usually when I anticipate something so much I always suffer a big let down). And no, before you ask, I do not have any more firm news you do not have, but even recently Rodeo said on FB they are aiming at late May. A little something for people that played the original boardgame: after you played some normal mode...play the game on hardcore. You will thank me later for bringing back horror stories from your youth
I am leaning towards playing on hardcore from the get-go (decisions mean much more and adds that tense feeling). Pitta, do you reccommend playing on normal first?
Well..I was just saying it to get your feet wet with the rules and general feeling. But by all means, go for it. Decisions and timing make in hardcore the difference between life and death. The tension is, imho, unparalled. It's certainly not for the feint of heart. You can stare at the screen for many minutes before even daring to put your finger on the screen and make your move...expecially if you developed a special attachment to your characters (this will grow a lot as you play). I personally awakened my son in the middle of the night when I managed to survive a dungeon one week ago, yelling like a child. Wife wasn't that pleased too. But...the satisfaction!!!! I felt like a true HERO, wanted to hug my almost dead party characters one by one. Whenever I heard the sound when you are hit, I really suffered. If you played the original board game, or Warhammer in general, you know we are talking about few hits to be dead. I died an horrible death the next dungeon tough And it was totally my fault (too confident). When the game will be out, I plan to play all campaigns in hardcore.
Any chance that you could share that here? I deactivated my Facebook account and don't intend on reactivating it. It would be much appreciated.
Expansion is truly great. I'm not allowed to speak about it,but it will be the first thing I'll buy even before starting the game (can't say why now What you see there is the in game map too, which is, hands down, the best game map I ever saw in any videogame (expecially in motion). It's pure Warhammer-ish slickness and really adds to overall immersion. Notice Bogenhafen too
